That preview had A LOT. Even if you don't read the VNs, you can tell DEEN forgot about the words "Shock Factor"

I lol'd at the Jack Bauer comment too xDD

The main character of the 24 series. In Japanese, Rudolf voices him (I think). You really shouldn't watch the preview

I thought it was lovely how Beato finally saw what she was doing and starting to turn around more, becoming nice, it was cute and made me feel very happy and wonderful for her and made me see her in a new light as quite a lovely person.^_^

I managed to watch half a season of 24 without knowing the last name of the main character. That's a record for me

I'm not sure how Eva-Beatrice calls poking someones head on a spiky fence thing not gruesome...

Because Rosa died instantly. Eva-Beatrice prefers they suffer before dying.

even though I knew the existence of "Eva Beatrice" by the picture in the new OP, I still felt uncertain about the coronation ceremony when I watched it. Throughout the whole scene I kept thinking "It's a TRAP!" and feels quite uncomfortable. Then I read the comments in the forum, listened to HoM and went back to watch the episode again. It's when I realised that the music is not as uplifting but instead more suspicious, depressing, and more quiet than HoM.

I quite enjoy the music selection in the torture scene. Like someone posted before it looked like a childish way of torturing other people (well, the idea of jelly ocean and cake mountain certainly sounds childish anyway), like what happened when you gave child with sinister intent strong power. I actually thought that it fits the scene better than HoM, but probably because the selection in the anime is good.

ew......impaled from the back of the head.......I won't complain about the censorship here....

I think it's in the discussion about episode 7 that someone posted the Jack Bauer song........so DEEN picked up the joke as well.

8/10 from me on this one. I had to detract for the really noticeable dip in animation quality, and that Eva-Beatrice's voice sounded a bit off later in the episode. That aside, most of the scenes I was looking forward to had close to the same impact on me that they did in the visual novel. And Rosa...ick. That sound made me wince.

Golden Witch Drugs:

Gold is rather dense.

10 tons * (2000 lb / ton) * (453 g / lb) * (cm^3 / 19.3 g) * (m^3 / 10^6 cm^3) ~= 1/2 cubic meter. (I'm not sure which ton to use, or whether to use troy weight.)

The area of the side of a gold bar from the federal reserve is 12.25in^2 (7in * 1.75in). If there are over 800 bars then that covers an area of almost 10,000in^2. You could cover a small wall with that.

If that same pyramid of gold were stacked in a single row against a wall I think it would have impressed more people. That's how I imagined it as well from the picture in the VN.

Edit: Oops it's 10 tons of gold not 1 ton.

the new song lasts almost as long as happiness of marionette (2:20) from the start of the receiving the staff to the beato-battler metaworld. Maybe they were thinking about using it?

If they could use it, I don't see why they wouldn't. Unless we hear it in a later scene, I'm going to assume they couldn't use it for whatever reason.

Great episode, the use of Nighteyes for the torture scene was an awesome fit, and I don't mind the loss of HoM since the new song is also cool.

The Rosa torture was way too toned down - Jelly ocean wasn't even fatal! Deen also officially has the worst ears for music selection imho. The coronation ceremony was totally shafted because of that. :/ Also, after nicely putting out Maria, Beato... seemed to throw/drop her onto the floor! Idk maybe I shouldn't have read the Umineko VN before the anime because I'm not enjoying the anime adaption at ALL because of this. :///

Actually, thinking on it, HoM wouldn't be a good idea for that scene. At least, not for anime-viewers.

I hate to be a "They're saving it guys!!!" person, but they might be saving it for the other happy scene that uses HoM in this episode.

Well, I watched the anime adaptation of Higurashi before reading the Sound Novel and I ended up regretting it. I don't know for you but my enjoyment of the original work is more important than my enjoyment of an adaptation. So yeah, I'm glad that I got to read the Sound Novel beforehand. And besides, I did like some of the episodes so it's not like it completely ruined my experience with the anime.

Actually any week this thread begin to become boring, music blablabla, vm better blablabla, surely is right that after you listening the same bgm anytime you want listening it on the anime too, but after all this time i really don't care to listening it for 2min on the epi, same for the adaptation, sometime a little difference isn't bad and we really need to realize that is only a 20min of epi, so we'll see always cut, and i liked this epi cause had a good adaptation
So returning to the epi, Lambda and Bern finally have more time, so happy to see them
Ronove and his laugh is always awesome, and i think that the voice and the animation improved a lot
And finally we see Eva-Beatrice with her playful evilness and her cruelty that is awesome
After this is the part on the story that i liked really much, cause Eva-Beato entry, but is the part that i despise more than any other, cause is the part where begin Beato's change, i liked the cruel and sadistic Beato and her cruel rivalty with Battler, for this after this part of the story i prefered Eva-Beato rather than Beato (for me see a soft Beato or her moe part is really a pain xDD)
After same for Battler, this is really a main point, cause his "There have been times when i thought you could be a little fun"... ... ... Where? When she killed his family? Or when she killed him 2 times? Surely at this point my opinion of Battler change a lot xDD
