The original kyoudai-ai couple in YSAC were 9 years apart in age difference, and technically weren't related by blood at all, since one was adopted and the other was the result of an affair. The oniichan was also a bit of a jerkass: "Fuck no, I won't die for you, you're supposed to be pwn enough that you pwn them before anybody needs to die for you."

• Heroic Roundhouse Buster: combining Shining Roundhouse Strike and S.R.X.B., it continues from the vertical flying kick with a roundhouse that sends the target crashing into the ground.
• Kyukyoku Ougi: Heroic Rider Kick: known simply as Rider Kick, Akira unlocks all limiters and becomes engulfed in Qiqong as she powers up. With a fully charged lightning kick, Akira drives the target backward with such force it becomes burned in massive burning Qigong energy, before she kicks the target skywards. Akira, then, goes airborne, releases the rest of Qigong energy, shouts the attack's name and delivers the finishing downward kick, driving the target into the ground and reating a reaction so powerful that it forms a pillar of fire from ground zero upward, high into the atmosphere. Akira walks out of the fire column unscathed in dramatic fashion as the pillar continues burning spectacularly.

The Undefeated of the East

// MC 0076. 8th March. Mainland China. //

A loud battle cry echoed across the remote pine forest. From faraway, two combatants exchanged and dodged attacks amidst the early mist of morning. One of the combatants, an aging kungfu master, was keeping himself in focus as he repelled the other combatant's fierce kicks, and managed to catch the last piece of the kick. "You have improved a lot," he spoke and tossed the combatant -- a girl -- into a tree. She quickly somersaulted before she crashed and continued attacking the calm-looking man after she delivered a flying kick that missed. This time, the old master counterattacked with a reverse roundhouse that sent the girl to the top of the forest.

The girl made a full airborne recovery. "Your kick is no match against mine, old man! HENSHIN!" In seconds the girl transformed into a masked warrior and charged her aerial attack; the red scarf that came along with the transformation flapped when wind rotated around her as a vortex.

"KURAE!! AKIRA KIIIIIIIICKU!!!!"

The attack hit, and the old master was pushed across the ground as he blocked the powerful dive kick with his arms. The girl disengaged from the kick and attacked him from another angle, and again from other directions as she tried defeating the old master.

"Useless!" The old master made a knock-off shockwave and sent the girl away from him. "Let's finish this!!!" He charged up, all while his hands made various gestures before they came to a stop in a posture. The girl landed and performed the same gesture, powering up in equal might. The combination of power flattened the trees and turned parts of the forest around them into "pine circle".

"Chou Hisatsu!!!"

Both the old master and the girl leaped forward and aimed their charged kicks at each other.

"Shining!"

"Rampage!"

"EXTREME BUSTER!!!!!!"

The kicks connected.

And the mountains rocked with great explosion as the two energy rush collided and annihilated each other, producing massive shockwave that spread across the area. One could only imagine what in the name of heavens the two combatants were doing in the forest, attacking and dodging and finally ending the spectacular battle with epic finishing moves.

The dusts finally settled in. The old master and the girl stood facing each other, the latter's scarf flapping in slow motion as wind blew onto her face in dramatic fashion. Then she slowly chuckled and undid the mask, as to reveal to the world a pair of cyan eyes that glimmered.

"Master Sanshiro, I concede defeat," the girl said and knelt before the old master in humility. "No matter how strong I may become, I am still far behind the legendary undefeated of the east."

The old master laughed and told the girl to rise. "There's nothing I have to hide from you, knowing that you have surpassed all my expectations," he spoke. "You really are the daughter of your father."

The girl giggled. "Master Sanshiro, how can you possibly say that? I still have a lot of things to learn," she said.

The old master approached the girl and gave her a pat on her shoulder. "Akira, your father entrusted you to me because he saw your potential," he spoke. "He knew one day you'd rise to the top and surpass him as the next Lightning Guardian." He, then, pointed to the sun that started to rise over the horizon. "Akira, what do you think of today's sunrise?"

"It's burning red..." It did not take long before the girl shook a fist and cried hotblooded tears. "The east is burning red!!!!"

"Now, Akira!" the old master exclaimed as he, too, cried hotblooded tears. "Follow your heart and go east!!!"

The girl nodded, unable to stop the waterfall tears. "Yes, Master Sanshiro!!!"

I had a similar intent for my own Trombe ability for Kay: Basically, it's a spell that mutes other sounds in the area and overrides them with a single sound. Very effective and devastating countering Neo-Lyrical Mages, and Sound-based spells

Abilities Description (normal):

• Transformation/Heroic Transformation: Akira activates her Storage Device and gains access to her Barrier Jacket. It usually requires complex incantation speeches but she sees a simpler (and flashier) alternative and shouts "HENSHIN!" instead.
• Rider Jacket: variation of the Barrier Jacket, it is distinguished by other Barrier Jackets/Knights' Armour by the inclusion of the legendary red scarf of Kamen Rider.
• Akira Kick: a simple kick that can be either a dive kick or multiple-hit kicks.
• Shining Impulse Drive: Akira shoots projectiles from her feet while performing a stationary 360-degree kick.
• Shining Roundhouse Buster: Akira delivers a lightning-fast roundhouse or reverse roundhouse that can be done as a combo finisher.
• S.R.X.B.: abbreviation for Shining Rampage Extreme Buster, Akira charges up before she attacks the target with a precision-timed combi that ends with a powerful vertical flying kick, usually while she recites the attack's name. This is her most powerful normal-form attack.

Abilities Description (Hero Senki Form)

• Rider Armour: upgraded from Rider Jacket, this version is only available in Hero Senki Form. It also gains full-body armour as well.
• Heroic Akira Kick: upgraded from the original attack, it comes with plasma damages.
• Heroic Impulse Drive: upgraded from the original attack, it comes with plasma damages and hits three times.
• Heroic Roundhouse Buster: combining Shining Roundhouse Strike and S.R.X.B., it continues from the vertical flying kick with a roundhouse that sends the target crashing into the ground.
• Kyukyoku Ougi: Heroic Rider Kick: known simply as Rider Kick, Akira unlocks all limiters and becomes engulfed in Qiqong as she powers up. With a fully charged lightning kick, Akira drives the target backward with such force it becomes burned in massive burning Qigong energy, before she kicks the target skywards. Akira, then, goes airborne, releases the rest of Qigong energy, shouts the attack's name and delivers the finishing downward kick, driving the target into the ground and reating a reaction so powerful that it forms a pillar of fire from ground zero upward, high into the atmosphere. Akira walks out of the fire column unscathed in dramatic fashion as the pillar continues burning spectacularly.

The Undefeated of the East

// MC 0076. 8th March. Mainland China. //

A loud battle cry echoed across the remote pine forest. From faraway, two combatants exchanged and dodged attacks amidst the early mist of morning. One of the combatants, an aging kungfu master, was keeping himself in focus as he repelled the other combatant's fierce kicks, and managed to catch the last piece of the kick. "You have improved a lot," he spoke and tossed the combatant -- a girl -- into a tree. She quickly somersaulted before she crashed and continued attacking the calm-looking man after she delivered a flying kick that missed. This time, the old master counterattacked with a reverse roundhouse that sent the girl to the top of the forest.

The girl made a full airborne recovery. "Your kick is no match against mine, old man! HENSHIN!" In seconds the girl transformed into a masked warrior and charged her aerial attack; the red scarf that came along with the transformation flapped when wind rotated around her as a vortex.

"KURAE!! AKIRA KIIIIIIIICKU!!!!"

The attack hit, and the old master was pushed across the ground as he blocked the powerful dive kick with his arms. The girl disengaged from the kick and attacked him from another angle, and again from other directions as she tried defeating the old master.

"Useless!" The old master made a knock-off shockwave and sent the girl away from him. "Let's finish this!!!" He charged up, all while his hands made various gestures before they came to a stop in a posture. The girl landed and performed the same gesture, powering up in equal might. The combination of power flattened the trees and turned parts of the forest around them into "pine circle".

"Chou Hisatsu!!!"

Both the old master and the girl leaped forward and aimed their charged kicks at each other.

"Shining!"

"Rampage!"

"EXTREME BUSTER!!!!!!"

The kicks connected.

And the mountains rocked with great explosion as the two energy rush collided and annihilated each other, producing massive shockwave that spread across the area. One could only imagine what in the name of heavens the two combatants were doing in the forest, attacking and dodging and finally ending the spectacular battle with epic finishing moves.

The dusts finally settled in. The old master and the girl stood facing each other, the latter's scarf flapping in slow motion as wind blew onto her face in dramatic fashion. Then she slowly chuckled and undid the mask, as to reveal to the world a pair of cyan eyes that glimmered.

"Master Sanshiro, I concede defeat," the girl said and knelt before the old master in humility. "No matter how strong I may become, I am still far behind the legendary undefeated of the east."

The old master laughed and told the girl to rise. "There's nothing I have to hide from you, knowing that you have surpassed all my expectations," he spoke. "You really are the daughter of your father."

The girl giggled. "Master Sanshiro, how can you possibly say that? I still have a lot of things to learn," she said.

The old master approached the girl and gave her a pat on her shoulder. "Akira, your father entrusted you to me because he saw your potential," he spoke. "He knew one day you'd rise to the top and surpass him as the next Lightning Guardian." He, then, pointed to the sun that started to rise over the horizon. "Akira, what do you think of today's sunrise?"

"It's burning red..." It did not take long before the girl shook a fist and cried hotblooded tears. "The east is burning red!!!!"

"Now, Akira!" the old master exclaimed as he, too, cried hotblooded tears. "Follow your heart and go east!!!"

The girl nodded, unable to stop the waterfall tears. "Yes, Master Sanshiro!!!"

In other news, I've successfully adapted the Gundams into the Nanohaverse without them being mecha at all, and guys can all wear it without looking weird. Design-wise, it was reverse-engineered from the Tau battlesuits (adapted from Gundam, as claimed by Games Workshop) used by the Linda Clones of Celestial Being.

More details when Rebuilt gets underway, as Riot 6 will come to "conveniently" capture the Stahlmut Mk.II from Celestial Being. ...

Regarding the first point, these are the leader, maids and ship as they appear in the original timeline. Other than changes to the ship's faction, it remains the same as ripped from the Tau Codex in the Kerokanon.



What made me do the Boxer Frame was that Stahlmut had a developmental track record like the Vanishing Trooper. But the deepest impression of the Boxer Frame, and hence why I'm Tracing it, was left by this event:

Reminded me of that tentacle-inspired beating up of Kha by Keroko in the exact same manner, as well as a nod to Kha-to-Saber Ranma 1/2 henshin.

I mean, we have Verossa Acous who's called "Inspector" by various people, but that's all I can tell from the anime.

Reason I'm asking is because I have ideas for a couple of (new) OCs in Intelligence, but I'm not sure how to write them into the TSAB.

SO.... How's things without me?

Anyway, I've finally started on another fic, this time, a full-blown story, not just a one-shot. And for the fruits of my labor, all I have to show is just one lousy preview.

This is, however, just a sample of the first chapter... To be exact, just a sample of the first HALF of the first chapter. Because it is still in the experimental phase, and therefore is still Susceptible to changes. In fact, I'm almost certain to be adding more details later on.

(Apparently after all this time, I've still have yet to kick the nasty habit of over-writing... >.>)

Oh btw, I still have not come up with a title yet, so I'll just call it, "A story without a Name"...

...For now.

For most parts of this chapter, you can call it Graham-centric, so Nighty had better take this chance to correct me before I keep this mindset of young Graham.

Oh, one last thing, it's mdnight here, I'm too tired to catch all the typos... But I'm pretty sureAaron and/or Kha would do it for me...

"A Preview without a Name"

Lainsworth City.

One of the major metropolises found in the 9th Administrated World under the control of the Time-Space Administration Bureau.

With only a few minutes till 3 am, the roads and streets in this city are barren and lifeless. By now, most of the city’s inhabitants were already asleep. Tonight however, a lone car could be seen cruising down the empty highway that connects one end of the city to the other.

"Oh? I see… Well then, patch me through to your Captain please." Graham requested to the soldier in the communication screen cheerfully.

"Y-Yes sir! Of course sir, r-right away...!"

The young corporal ran off in a frantic hurry from the screen to fetch his superior. Gil could hear the poor girl crashing into people and objects from the background.

Graham chuckled softly; it never ceases to amuse him whenever that happens.

He blames it on his daughters’ antics that have been rubbing off on him recently.

It wasn’t long before the communication screen was replaced by another older and bigger build individual. A quick glance at his uniform tells Graham that this was just the man he needed to talk to.

“This is Captain Garran of the Lainsworth Civil Protection department.” The man frowned at Graham’s blue and white uniform.

“Greetings, I am-“

“I know who you are…” The Captain waved him off lazily. “Commodore Graham of the 12th Independent Fleet… the infamous Ace of the Navy.”

“’Infamous’ you say…” Graham laughed sheepishly.

“So… What brings such a prestigious person as yourself to our beautiful city during this time of the night?”

“Business, of course.” Graham answered.

“Navy people don’t sleep?” Garran raised his brow.

“Only when the officers aren’t around.” Graham winked.

“I… See…” The man cleared his throat. “You were saying…?”

“Oh yes, I require your help Captain, regarding a situation happening within your city…”

Garran’s face looks as if he’s contemplating a chess game in front of him.

“Would that be a problem, Captain?” Graham asked politely.

“Depends, but I’ll hear out your request first.”

Graham cut it short. “Very well then, I want you to fill me in on the specs of your current operation.”

“Certainly, which?”

“The Lenkin harbor firearms trade bust.” Graham answered. “The one currently in progress…”

The Captain of the Civil Protection Unit was caught off-guard by this.

Captain Garran asked. “How did you…?”

Graham grinned slightly. “A kitten told me… “

The man in the screen gave him a look that is a mix between annoyance and disgust.

“Excuse me, sir ?“

Graham changed the subject. “That doesn’t matter now Captain. The important thing now is that I need to know what measures you have taken to deal with the situation-”

“With all due respect sir, I don’t see why the Navy needs to butt their heads into this-“

Graham countered. “Captain, I never said I was here on behalf of the Navy did I?”

“Regardless Commodore, you still do not have any jurisdiction to meddle into the affairs of the Ground division.”

Graham was beginning to lose patients with this man. But knowing the bad blood already existing between their two divisions, temper would not solve anything. Graham took a deep breath to calm himself and start all over again.

“Captain Garran, I believe you’re getting the wrong impression that I am trying to undermine your authority in this matter. Let me assure you that my only concern is for the safety of your men, as well as the citizens of this city.”

“You have my word if everything checks out; I would not interfere with your operation. So please, just help me to do my job Captain and we can all go home to sleep a little early.”

After considering his words, the Civil Protection Captain decides to cooperate.

“As you already know, the Administration Bureau had placed a ban on all Conventional Weaponry, while majority of the administrative worlds have complied with this law in exchange for magic-base weapons, there are still a number of individuals who refuses to lay down arms, and several criminal organizations which operates the black market for the sale of these illegal firearms.”

“For a long time now we have suspected a group of extremely dangerous individuals using the warehouses along the side of the river to house their goods. However, we weren’t exactly sure which of the three harbors the smugglers were using. It wasn’t until a while ago that we received confirmation that a cargo full of stolen weapons is to be brought to Lenkin harbor, and that a deal is to be made with another group.”

“From what our officer at the scene has reported, we’re looking at about ten to fifteen heavily armed criminals carrying rifles and sub-machine guns of various sorts. We have already informed the Citadel Peacekeepers’ special weapons and tactics unit about them, and they had just arrived on the scene.”

Garran looked at his watch.

“If all goes well, everything should be wrapped up by 3 o’clock.”

Silence.

Graham looked at him, as if expecting more.

“Yes?” The Captain asked.

Graham blinked, “That’s it?”

Captain Garran lets out an exasperated sigh, “Look Commodore, this is practically a standard bust that civil protection carries out on a regular basis. We have already cornered off the streets, and place a 6 blocks magic field around the area of the building. There are no civilians in detected in the field, and the Citadel Peacekeepers have the entrances covered-“

Graham asked. “What did you tell them?”

“Excuse me?” The Captain blinked.

“What did you tell the Peacekeeper Unit?”

The man rolled his eyes.

“Exactly what I’ve just told you; that the warehouse is being used by smugglers to store illegal weapons and that a deal is about to be made at this very moment. They are armed with large caliber rifles and other semi-automatic weapons-“

Graham stared. “That’s it? That’s all you told them?”

“That’s all there IS to tell them.”

Graham asked. “What about the report that the Naval Investigators sent you?”
The Captain gave him a questioning look. “Report?”

Graham frowned. “You did receive a report from Naval Intelligence regarding the other party, the one making the deal right?”

“Well yes but… I didn’t… Think that…”

Graham sighed and quickly brings up another communication screen, “I’m sure you didn’t- Lotto, come in!”

Another screen appeared beside the first, judging from the noise and the background scenery, its the back of a transport plane. Standing in front of it is a little girl with silver hair to the length of her shoulder, probably no more that 10 years old.

And she has a pair of cat-ears twitching around on top of her head.

“Yes sir!”

Graham gave his command. “Greenlights for ‘Nightingale’! I repeat; you have the greenlights for ‘Nightingale’!”

The little cat-girl grinned mischievously.

“Yes sir! Understood sir!”

From her body movements on screen, it seems as if she just kicked something out the door of the plane.

“The little bird is out of the cage!” Lotto confirmed.

“Good work” Graham nodded as he shuts down the screen.

“Hey! What’s going on there?!”

Graham turned his attention back to the man. “Captain, what is the stasis of the Peacekeeper Unit?”

“Hold it! I’m not saying anything until you tell me what the hell you are planning! Sir!” the Captain demanded.

“Have they entered the building yet?!”

Garran clenched his jaws. “That is of no con-“

“Captain. I’m ORDERING you, to tell me-!”

BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!

Without warning, an incredible explosion shock the highway where Graham was driving on, the force vibrated the entire vehicle for a few short seconds. The car screeched to a halt as Graham got out to see where the source of the shockwave had come from.

Off in the distance on the other side of the river, a blaze had spread from the location of the storage facilities. The bright inferno begins to rage across to the other structures nearby, slowing consuming them in the process. The towering black smoke risen high above the fires, its shape resembles some terrifying, monstrous creature…

Wait a minute, Graham realized. That IS a monster.

With one flap from its huge wings, the entire column of smoke was blasted away.

“What’s that again?! Coming in Sergeant! Come in!” The Captain yelled at another communication screen, most likely to one of his subordinates on the field.
In the background, dozens of frantic operators wrestle with their consoles in an attempt to establish the situation.

“I want a visual of the scene…!” An operator replied something which made him roared. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S AN INTERFRENCE?!”

“Damnit! Stop screaming and give me a damn report!”

“Captain Garran! Order the men outside the field to evacuate as far away from there as possible!” Graham commanded. “And call the Lieutenant-Colonel in charge of Riot Force 3! I have a feeling you’re going to need all the muscles you can get…”

“What about the ones inside?! And the Peacekeepers?! They’re still trapped in there!!”

“No Captain, I’m afraid your men are already dead.” Graham said grimly.

Meriva look down upon the carnage before him.

The thick and black smoke spawning from the surrounding fire threatens to engulf him completely in their dark presence. Twisted metal, shattered concrete, as well as crimson blood pools painted a complete picture of the devastation.

All of which, he was responsible for.

The special weapons and tactics unit of the citadel peacekeepers caught them off-guard when they stormed the warehouse where he and his fellow comrades were about to secure the cargo of guns and ammunition to their buyers. Many of the smugglers were bind and restrained before they could even draw their weapons. But those who weren’t soon began open firing on the peacekeepers.

However, the fight was completely one-sided battle as the peacekeepers overwhelmed them with their superior numbers, and magic-base weapons. One by one the smugglers were cut down by a wall of accurate magic bolts and missiles.

Meriva was sent here by the elders of his clan to aid the men and their operation here, and had only arrived two hours ago from the dimensional transport station. Exhausted from his journey, the men allowed him to sleep in the docks till he was feeling better.

He had always liked the smell of the water ever since he was a child back in his home world. For as long as he could remember, the people of his tribe have called him a ‘chosen’. He and his entire family were respected for the divine powers he possesses. Because of this, he was never burden with the task of manual labor unlike most of his fellow comrades. In return, his job was to use his powers to protect them from harm.

He had one job to do, and he failed it.

By the time he got back to the building, almost all of them were either killed or being dragged off in chains.

He choked. Darkness was swallowing him up from within; bring fore emotions that were struggling to explode. Just then from the corner of his eyes, he saw a young man no older than himself, reaching out to him.

Before his brain could fully comprehend, his legs was already carrying him half-way across the room. Meriva could hear the peacekeepers yelling at him as he ran, he knew what he was doing is stupid; he should have just ran away.
But he didn’t care.

Rushing to the side of that man despite not knowing his name, he got down and tried to save his life. But instead, all he got was a gift, and a dying message.
It was exactly like the scene of a novel he once read. The man apologized for failing his duty and asked for his forgiveness. Meriva too finds himself playing a part of the story as he apologized for letting them down.

Three peacekeepers had surrounded them, screaming for him to lie down on the ground.

With his last ounce of strength, the man without a name whispered into Meriva’s ears…

“The… Manifest…”

“I will deliver it myself.” Meriva assured him.

The man thanked him, and forever remains silent.

Meriva stood up quietly, and begin to utter a chant. A yellow square appeared beneath his feet, rotating slowing.

This caught many of the peacekeepers off-guard, as most of them had never seen a square-shaped magic insignia before in their life. The one who knew what it was, quickly yelled at the others to stop him.

But they were too late.

A shockwave was sent throughout the room, knocking back the men around him. From the summoning square below him, rises a huge creature. It has the body of a tiger, except it was yellow with black stripes, and had a large pair of wings, also with the same color. It has a pair of massive bull horns on its head, and giant saber-tooth fangs sticks out of his mouth. It stares down the terrified men with its big, blue and empty eyes.

“Kyuki, spare no one.” Meriva commanded the beast coldly.

The entire thing was within two minutes, after which the beast took off into the sky.

“Our base of operations was raided by the Citadel Peacekeepers, they must’ve have gotten wind of our activities in this city…”

“…The others?”

“Dead or arrested.”

“And the Manifest?”

Meriva reached into his bag and pulled out a clear, prism-shaped crystal.

“I grabbed it before I left.”

The man on the screen let out an audible sigh of relief.

“That’s good news, the weapon cargo may be expendable, but we can’t afford to lose the Manifest…”

“I know that Rekord…”

The man noticed his eyes looked distant.

“Is… Something else the matter?”

“Nothing, it’s just late…”

“Fine, but just remember; you’re not out of the woods yet.” Rekord warned him. “The rest of us will be coming in from the northwest to escort you and the Manifest out of the city.”

“Very well, I’ll meet you across the end of the North-side Bridge in about a minute…”

“Take care now Meriva, we have suffered enough losses for one night, we cannot lose the Manifest, as well as another Chosen…”

“I understand… I’ll see you on the other side.”

“As with you… And hurry, it won’t be long before the Bureau’s Air Force scrambles their Interceptors…”

The screen disappears.

Looking to his far right, Meriva could see a large skyscraper with a large digital clock on its side, indicating the time to be nearly 3 am. He could see his destination up head, the end of the large bridge connecting the two parts of the city together. Tightening his hold over the Manifest, Meriva urge his summon to fly towards it, whispering the words that were spoken to him from long ago.

A blue magic beam was fired from the ground, which streamed through the air, slicing a clean opening across the side of Kyuki’s right wing, sending the beast spiraling towards the ground in agony. A bone-crutching, thunderous crash shook the entire bridge when the monster smashed into it, waking up the other half of the city’s occupants in the process.

From the highway across the other side of the city, Graham puts down the binoculars.

“Well,” He blinked. “That’s gotta hurt…”

The man turns back to his communication screen.

“It’s alright Captain, everything’s under control now… You can call off the Air Force.”

“Commodore Graham,” Garran glared at him. “My men on the field are reporting that something shot down that monster… That same monster which took out an entire peacekeeper unit!”

“So it would seem…” Graham remembered something. “Oh, and by the way Captain…”

“Huh?”

“It’s Admiral Graham.”

He could hear his summoned grunting in pain and felt it trying to get back on its feet. Judging from sound, he guessed that he couldn’t have fallen too far away.

Kyuki… In pain? T-That’s not possible!

Meriva struggled onto his feet, and limped slowly towards his summoned.

“Right, Kyuki?” He asked the beast.

A solid ‘boom!’ was heard coming from the other side of the monster, and a large hole instantaneously appeared through the center of the creature’s body, splashing blood all over Meriva.

From the belly of the beast emerged a dark figure. He wore a black barrier jacket with silver chains and lining covering the sides of the coat. A mantle attached to the jacket covers a portion of his neck and chin. A small poach strapped to a double layer leather belt hangs to his left side. In his right hand held a long, whitish-blue spear with an unusual triangle-like head. The staff was emitting steam from its sides, showing that it had just very recently been used.

But the one feature that caught his attention above all else, is the white mask that he was wearing. Meriva was reminded of the messenger of death in the stories that his parents told him when he was young.

Causally walking through the tunnel which he had carved out from the beast, the dark figure flipped open the upper portion of his device like a double barrel shotgun and removed two cartridges, replacing them with two new ones from his poach.

And it was only when he walked out of that tunnel did the Summoner realized that this dark figure was only a kid, probably no older than 14.

As Meriva struggles to make sense of this, a frightening thought came to him; that perhaps he was wrong all along.

And that the world has beings far more terrifying than any monster.

“WHAT KIND OF MONSTER ARE YOU?!”

The boy looked at him.

“Sorry to disappoint, but I’m not a monster.”

“Then what are you?!” He shouted, trying to hide his fear.

The boy flipped up his device and locked its head into place.

“I’m just a bird.”

2. The idea came from that I based Kia on Ifurita from El Hazard. Since Ifurita qualifies as a Sentokijin, and Kia herself is an artificial Alhazredian mage, so I married the ideas.

Kia for most of the time is looks like the completely made over Ifurita from The Wanderers. When she activates her bloodline, she turns into the original Ifurita replete with silver hair. Kha inherits this ability as proof of his Alhazredian bloodline, but like he promised his mother, that skill is only used in the most dire of situations such as when he dons the *coughCassherncough* mask of The Cleric.

Personality wise, she's unlike both Ifuritas, being pretty much a Keroko-like person, sweet but having a slight streak of violence in her.

Argh I rambled...

That's why Kia's a Sentokijin, but since she's a true complete and perfectly functioning (albeit forcibly shut down since her "death" early in Cleric Begins) Alhazredian sentokijin, if I were Jail, I'd take her over some clone made from 300 year old bloodstains to be the Founder of the Numbers. And since Kia had a working machine core, the Cinque-gen Numbers were made using a reversed engineered version of that core, making them far more powerful in potential (as well as fundamentally different in character) than the previous generations who were built from scratch or based off Alistina's core. They just lack experience to replace the commanding Numbers 1-4.

Some Cinque-gen Numbers, according to Wiki, were cloned or made by artificial DNA insemination. My crack says the Clone Cultures were made by cloning someone else, but then grown over the Kia core (making them Kha's machine sisters, whatever that means ), while Pure Cultures (ADNAI type) were made by using the Kia core as a scaffold, then having the cells made from embryoes created by artificially inseminating ova taken from Kia's ovaries (hence Kha's half-sisters).

I hope all this science stuff doesn't leave anybody in a loss.

Ah, I didnt know that the Cinque-gen Numbers were actually different... I thought this was part of your ideas.

3. Yes you told me that. In Rebuilt (and maybe the original timeline, I left that to you.), I thought of your sponsor as supporting the lesser evil in the face of a greater good. Jail however overstepped the line, like he did with the High Council, as he not only had his own plans, he had the resources and support of the League.

Therefore: Your sponsors have already made it into Rebuilt.

I just that I need to work out how they fit into the greater scheme of things, since the 912 disaster was the flashpoint of a larger conflict. Your sponsors will be making a plotline run set in the Return of the King arc immediately after Rebuilt of StrikerS, like the Spiral arcs of the original.

And like the Spiral arcs, a Cleric-knight will be lost...

But a greater being of his own Light gained. >_>

So basically, the original idea of magical attacks partially composed of lightning elemental (or as you say it, magical attacks with lightning property) does remain... sounds good to me.

Yes, I quite lost that discussion the moment they started going 'I must use magical damage in order not to hurt person X' in StrikerS.

"A Preview without a Name"

One of the major metropolises found in the 9th Administrated World under the control of the Time-Space Administration Bureau.

With only a few minutes till 3 am, the roads and streets in this city are barren and lifeless. By now, most of the city’s inhabitants were already asleep. Tonight however, a lone car could be seen cruising down the empty highway that connects one end of the city to the other.

"Oh? I see… Well then, patch me through to your Captain please." Graham requested to the soldier in the communication screen cheerfully.

"Y-Yes sir! Of course sir, r-right away...!"

The young corporal ran off in a frantic hurry from the screen to fetch his superior. Gil could hear the poor girl crashing into people and objects from the background.

Graham chuckled softly; it never ceases to amuse him whenever that happens.

He blames it on his daughters’ antics that have been rubbing off on him recently.

It wasn’t long before the communication screen was replaced by another older and bigger build individual. A quick glance at his uniform tells Graham that this was just the man he needed to talk to.

“This is Captain Garran of the Lainsworth Civil Protection department.” The man frowned at Graham’s blue and white uniform.

“Greetings, I am-“

“I know who you are…” The Captain waved him off lazily. “Commodore Graham of the 12th Independent Fleet… the infamous Ace of the Navy.”

“’Infamous’ you say…” Graham laughed sheepishly.

“So… What brings such a prestigious person as yourself to our beautiful city during this time of the night?”

“Business, of course.” Graham answered.

“Navy people don’t sleep?” Garran raised his brow.

“Only when the officers aren’t around.” Graham winked.

“I… See…” The man cleared his throat. “You were saying…?”

“Oh yes, I require your help Captain, regarding a situation happening within your city…”

Garran’s face looks as if he’s contemplating a chess game in front of him.

“Would that be a problem, Captain?” Graham asked politely.

“Depends, but I’ll hear out your request first.”

Graham cut it short. “Very well then, I want you to fill me in on the specs of your current operation.”

“Certainly, which?”

“The Lenkin harbor firearms trade bust.” Graham answered. “The one currently in progress…”

The Captain of the Civil Protection Unit was caught off-guard by this.

Captain Garran asked. “How did you…?”

Graham grinned slightly. “A kitten told me… “

The man in the screen gave him a look that is a mix between annoyance and disgust.

“Excuse me, sir ?“

Graham changed the subject. “That doesn’t matter now Captain. The important thing now is that I need to know what measures you have taken to deal with the situation-”

“With all due respect sir, I don’t see why the Navy needs to butt their heads into this-“

Graham countered. “Captain, I never said I was here on behalf of the Navy did I?”

“Regardless Commodore, you still do not have any jurisdiction to meddle into the affairs of the Ground division.”

Graham was beginning to lose patients with this man. But knowing the bad blood already existing between their two divisions, temper would not solve anything. Graham took a deep breath to calm himself and start all over again.

“Captain Garran, I believe you’re getting the wrong impression that I am trying to undermine your authority in this matter. Let me assure you that my only concern is for the safety of your men, as well as the citizens of this city.”

“You have my word if everything checks out; I would not interfere with your operation. So please, just help me to do my job Captain and we can all go home to sleep a little early.”

After considering his words, the Civil Protection Captain decides to cooperate.

“As you already know, the Administration Bureau had placed a ban on all Conventional Weaponry, while majority of the administrative worlds have complied with this law in exchange for magic-base weapons, there are still a number of individuals who refuses to lay down arms, and several criminal organizations which operates the black market for the sale of these illegal firearms.”

“For a long time now we have suspected a group of extremely dangerous individuals using the warehouses along the side of the river to house their goods. However, we weren’t exactly sure which of the three harbors the smugglers were using. It wasn’t until a while ago that we received confirmation that a cargo full of stolen weapons is to be brought to Lenkin harbor, and that a deal is to be made with another group.”

“From what our officer at the scene has reported, we’re looking at about ten to fifteen heavily armed criminals carrying rifles and sub-machine guns of various sorts. We have already informed the Citadel Peacekeepers’ special weapons and tactics unit about them, and they had just arrived on the scene.”

Garran looked at his watch.

“If all goes well, everything should be wrapped up by 3 o’clock.”

Silence.

Graham looked at him, as if expecting more.

“Yes?” The Captain asked.

Graham blinked, “That’s it?”

Captain Garran lets out an exasperated sigh, “Look Commodore, this is practically a standard bust that civil protection carries out on a regular basis. We have already cornered off the streets, and place a 6 blocks magic field around the area of the building. There are no civilians in detected in the field, and the Citadel Peacekeepers have the entrances covered-“

Graham asked. “What did you tell them?”

“Excuse me?” The Captain blinked.

“What did you tell the Peacekeeper Unit?”

The man rolled his eyes.

“Exactly what I’ve just told you; that the warehouse is being used by smugglers to store illegal weapons and that a deal is about to be made at this very moment. They are armed with large caliber rifles and other semi-automatic weapons-“

Graham stared. “That’s it? That’s all you told them?”

“That’s all there IS to tell them.”

Graham asked. “What about the report that the Naval Investigators sent you?”
The Captain gave him a questioning look. “Report?”

Graham frowned. “You did receive a report from Naval Intelligence regarding the other party, the one making the deal right?”

“Well yes but… I didn’t… Think that…”

Graham sighed and quickly brings up another communication screen, “I’m sure you didn’t- Lotto, come in!”

Another screen appeared beside the first, judging from the noise and the background scenery, its the back of a transport plane. Standing in front of it is a little girl with silver hair to the length of her shoulder, probably no more that 10 years old.

And she has a pair of cat-ears twitching around on top of her head.

“Yes sir!”

Graham gave his command. “Greenlights for ‘Nightingale’! I repeat; you have the greenlights for ‘Nightingale’!”

The little cat-girl grinned mischievously.

“Yes sir! Understood sir!”

From her body movements on screen, it seems as if she just kicked something out the door of the plane.

“The little bird is out of the cage!” Lotto confirmed.

“Good work” Graham nodded as he shuts down the screen.

“Hey! What’s going on there?!”

Graham turned his attention back to the man. “Captain, what is the stasis of the Peacekeeper Unit?”

“Hold it! I’m not saying anything until you tell me what the hell you are planning! Sir!” the Captain demanded.

“Have they entered the building yet?!”

Garran clenched his jaws. “That is of no con-“

“Captain. I’m ORDERING you, to tell me-!”

Without warning, an incredible explosion shock the highway where Graham was driving on, the force vibrated the entire vehicle for a few short seconds. The car screeched to a halt as Graham got out to see where the source of the shockwave had come from.

Off in the distance on the other side of the river, a blaze had spread from the location of the storage facilities. The bright inferno begins to rage across to the other structures nearby, slowing consuming them in the process. The towering black smoke risen high above the fires, its shape resembles some terrifying, monstrous creature…

Wait a minute, Graham realized. That IS a monster.

With one flap from its huge wings, the entire column of smoke was blasted away.

“What’s that again?! Coming in Sergeant! Come in!” The Captain yelled at another communication screen, most likely to one of his subordinates on the field.
In the background, dozens of frantic operators wrestle with their consoles in an attempt to establish the situation.

“I want a visual of the scene…!” An operator replied something which made him roared. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S AN INTERFRENCE?!”

“Damnit! Stop screaming and give me a damn report!”

“Captain Garran! Order the men outside the field to evacuate as far away from there as possible!” Graham commanded. “And call the Lieutenant-Colonel in charge of Riot Force 3! I have a feeling you’re going to need all the muscles you can get…”

“What about the ones inside?! And the Peacekeepers?! They’re still trapped in there!!”

“No Captain, I’m afraid your men are already dead.” Graham said grimly.

The thick and black smoke spawning from the surrounding fire threatens to engulf him completely in their dark presence. Twisted metal, shattered concrete, as well as crimson blood pools painted a complete picture of the devastation.

The special weapons and tactics unit of the citadel peacekeepers caught them off-guard when they stormed the warehouse where he and his fellow comrades were about to secure the cargo of guns and ammunition to their buyers. Many of the smugglers were bind and restrained before they could even draw their weapons. But those who weren’t soon began open firing on the peacekeepers.

However, the fight was completely one-sided battle as the peacekeepers overwhelmed them with their superior numbers, and magic-base weapons. One by one the smugglers were cut down by a wall of accurate magic bolts and missiles.

Meriva was sent here by the elders of his clan to aid the men and their operation here, and had only arrived two hours ago from the dimensional transport station. Exhausted from his journey, the men allowed him to sleep in the docks till he was feeling better.

He had always liked the smell of the water ever since he was a child back in his home world. For as long as he could remember, the people of his tribe have called him a ‘chosen’. He and his entire family were respected for the divine powers he possesses. Because of this, he was never burden with the task of manual labor unlike most of his fellow comrades. In return, his job was to use his powers to protect them from harm.

He had one job to do, and he failed it.

By the time he got back to the building, almost all of them were either killed or being dragged off in chains.

He choked. Darkness was swallowing him up from within; bring fore emotions that were struggling to explode. Just then from the corner of his eyes, he saw a young man no older than himself, reaching out to him.

Before his brain could fully comprehend, his legs was already carrying him half-way across the room. Meriva could hear the peacekeepers yelling at him as he ran, he knew what he was doing is stupid; he should have just ran away.

"A Preview without a Name"

Lainsworth City.

One of the major metropolises found in the 9th Administrated World under the control of the Time-Space Administration Bureau.

With only a few minutes till 3 am, the roads and streets in this city are barren and lifeless. By now, most of the city’s inhabitants were already asleep. Tonight however, a lone car could be seen cruising down the empty highway that connects one end of the city to the other.

"Oh? I see… Well then, patch me through to your Captain please." Graham requested to the soldier in the communication screen cheerfully.

"Y-Yes sir! Of course sir, r-right away...!"

The young corporal ran off in a frantic hurry from the screen to fetch his superior. Gil could hear the poor girl crashing into people and objects from the background.

Graham chuckled softly; it never ceases to amuse him whenever that happens.

He blames it on his daughters’ antics that have been rubbing off on him recently.

It wasn’t long before the communication screen was replaced by another older and bigger build individual. A quick glance at his uniform tells Graham that this was just the man he needed to talk to.

“This is Captain Garran of the Lainsworth Civil Protection department.” The man frowned at Graham’s blue and white uniform.

“Greetings, I am-“

“I know who you are…” The Captain waved him off lazily. “Commodore Graham of the 12th Independent Fleet… the infamous Ace of the Navy.”

“’Infamous’ you say…” Graham laughed sheepishly.

“So… What brings such a prestigious person as yourself to our beautiful city during this time of the night?”

“Business, of course.” Graham answered.

“Navy people don’t sleep?” Garran raised his brow.

“Only when the officers aren’t around.” Graham winked.

“I… See…” The man cleared his throat. “You were saying…?”

“Oh yes, I require your help Captain, regarding a situation happening within your city…”

Garran’s face looks as if he’s contemplating a chess game in front of him.

“Would that be a problem, Captain?” Graham asked politely.

“Depends, but I’ll hear out your request first.”

Graham cut it short. “Very well then, I want you to fill me in on the specs of your current operation.”

“Certainly, which?”

“The Lenkin harbor firearms trade bust.” Graham answered. “The one currently in progress…”

The Captain of the Civil Protection Unit was caught off-guard by this.

Captain Garran asked. “How did you…?”

Graham grinned slightly. “A kitten told me… “

The man in the screen gave him a look that is a mix between annoyance and disgust.

“Excuse me, sir ?“

Graham changed the subject. “That doesn’t matter now Captain. The important thing now is that I need to know what measures you have taken to deal with the situation-”

“With all due respect sir, I don’t see why the Navy needs to butt their heads into this-“

Graham countered. “Captain, I never said I was here on behalf of the Navy did I?”

“Regardless Commodore, you still do not have any jurisdiction to meddle into the affairs of the Ground division.”

Graham was beginning to lose patients with this man. But knowing the bad blood already existing between their two divisions, temper would not solve anything. Graham took a deep breath to calm himself and start all over again.

“Captain Garran, I believe you’re getting the wrong impression that I am trying to undermine your authority in this matter. Let me assure you that my only concern is for the safety of your men, as well as the citizens of this city.”

“You have my word if everything checks out; I would not interfere with your operation. So please, just help me to do my job Captain and we can all go home to sleep a little early.”

After considering his words, the Civil Protection Captain decides to cooperate.

“As you already know, the Administration Bureau had placed a ban on all Conventional Weaponry, while majority of the administrative worlds have complied with this law in exchange for magic-base weapons, there are still a number of individuals who refuses to lay down arms, and several criminal organizations which operates the black market for the sale of these illegal firearms.”

“For a long time now we have suspected a group of extremely dangerous individuals using the warehouses along the side of the river to house their goods. However, we weren’t exactly sure which of the three harbors the smugglers were using. It wasn’t until a while ago that we received confirmation that a cargo full of stolen weapons is to be brought to Lenkin harbor, and that a deal is to be made with another group.”

“From what our officer at the scene has reported, we’re looking at about ten to fifteen heavily armed criminals carrying rifles and sub-machine guns of various sorts. We have already informed the Citadel Peacekeepers’ special weapons and tactics unit about them, and they had just arrived on the scene.”

Garran looked at his watch.

“If all goes well, everything should be wrapped up by 3 o’clock.”

Silence.

Graham looked at him, as if expecting more.

“Yes?” The Captain asked.

Graham blinked, “That’s it?”

Captain Garran lets out an exasperated sigh, “Look Commodore, this is practically a standard bust that civil protection carries out on a regular basis. We have already cornered off the streets, and place a 6 blocks magic field around the area of the building. There are no civilians in detected in the field, and the Citadel Peacekeepers have the entrances covered-“

Graham asked. “What did you tell them?”

“Excuse me?” The Captain blinked.

“What did you tell the Peacekeeper Unit?”

The man rolled his eyes.

“Exactly what I’ve just told you; that the warehouse is being used by smugglers to store illegal weapons and that a deal is about to be made at this very moment. They are armed with large caliber rifles and other semi-automatic weapons-“

Graham stared. “That’s it? That’s all you told them?”

“That’s all there IS to tell them.”

Graham asked. “What about the report that the Naval Investigators sent you?”
The Captain gave him a questioning look. “Report?”

Graham frowned. “You did receive a report from Naval Intelligence regarding the other party, the one making the deal right?”

“Well yes but… I didn’t… Think that…”

Graham sighed and quickly brings up another communication screen, “I’m sure you didn’t- Lotto, come in!”

Another screen appeared beside the first, judging from the noise and the background scenery, its the back of a transport plane. Standing in front of it is a little girl with silver hair to the length of her shoulder, probably no more that 10 years old.

And she has a pair of cat-ears twitching around on top of her head.

“Yes sir!”

Graham gave his command. “Greenlights for ‘Nightingale’! I repeat; you have the greenlights for ‘Nightingale’!”

The little cat-girl grinned mischievously.

“Yes sir! Understood sir!”

From her body movements on screen, it seems as if she just kicked something out the door of the plane.

“The little bird is out of the cage!” Lotto confirmed.

“Good work” Graham nodded as he shuts down the screen.

“Hey! What’s going on there?!”

Graham turned his attention back to the man. “Captain, what is the stasis of the Peacekeeper Unit?”

“Hold it! I’m not saying anything until you tell me what the hell you are planning! Sir!” the Captain demanded.

“Have they entered the building yet?!”

Garran clenched his jaws. “That is of no con-“

“Captain. I’m ORDERING you, to tell me-!”

BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!

Without warning, an incredible explosion shock the highway where Graham was driving on, the force vibrated the entire vehicle for a few short seconds. The car screeched to a halt as Graham got out to see where the source of the shockwave had come from.

Off in the distance on the other side of the river, a blaze had spread from the location of the storage facilities. The bright inferno begins to rage across to the other structures nearby, slowing consuming them in the process. The towering black smoke risen high above the fires, its shape resembles some terrifying, monstrous creature…

Wait a minute, Graham realized. That IS a monster.

With one flap from its huge wings, the entire column of smoke was blasted away.

“What’s that again?! Coming in Sergeant! Come in!” The Captain yelled at another communication screen, most likely to one of his subordinates on the field.
In the background, dozens of frantic operators wrestle with their consoles in an attempt to establish the situation.

“I want a visual of the scene…!” An operator replied something which made him roared. “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE’S AN INTERFRENCE?!”

“Damnit! Stop screaming and give me a damn report!”

“Captain Garran! Order the men outside the field to evacuate as far away from there as possible!” Graham commanded. “And call the Lieutenant-Colonel in charge of Riot Force 3! I have a feeling you’re going to need all the muscles you can get…”

“What about the ones inside?! And the Peacekeepers?! They’re still trapped in there!!”

“No Captain, I’m afraid your men are already dead.” Graham said grimly.

Meriva look down upon the carnage before him.

The thick and black smoke spawning from the surrounding fire threatens to engulf him completely in their dark presence. Twisted metal, shattered concrete, as well as crimson blood pools painted a complete picture of the devastation.

All of which, he was responsible for.

The special weapons and tactics unit of the citadel peacekeepers caught them off-guard when they stormed the warehouse where he and his fellow comrades were about to secure the cargo of guns and ammunition to their buyers. Many of the smugglers were bind and restrained before they could even draw their weapons. But those who weren’t soon began open firing on the peacekeepers.

However, the fight was completely one-sided battle as the peacekeepers overwhelmed them with their superior numbers, and magic-base weapons. One by one the smugglers were cut down by a wall of accurate magic bolts and missiles.

Meriva was sent here by the elders of his clan to aid the men and their operation here, and had only arrived two hours ago from the dimensional transport station. Exhausted from his journey, the men allowed him to sleep in the docks till he was feeling better.

He had always liked the smell of the water ever since he was a child back in his home world. For as long as he could remember, the people of his tribe have called him a ‘chosen’. He and his entire family were respected for the divine powers he possesses. Because of this, he was never burden with the task of manual labor unlike most of his fellow comrades. In return, his job was to use his powers to protect them from harm.

He had one job to do, and he failed it.

By the time he got back to the building, almost all of them were either killed or being dragged off in chains.

He choked. Darkness was swallowing him up from within; bring fore emotions that were struggling to explode. Just then from the corner of his eyes, he saw a young man no older than himself, reaching out to him.

Before his brain could fully comprehend, his legs was already carrying him half-way across the room. Meriva could hear the peacekeepers yelling at him as he ran, he knew what he was doing is stupid; he should have just ran away.
But he didn’t care.

Rushing to the side of that man despite not knowing his name, he got down and tried to save his life. But instead, all he got was a gift, and a dying message.
It was exactly like the scene of a novel he once read. The man apologized for failing his duty and asked for his forgiveness. Meriva too finds himself playing a part of the story as he apologized for letting them down.

Three peacekeepers had surrounded them, screaming for him to lie down on the ground.

With his last ounce of strength, the man without a name whispered into Meriva’s ears…

“The… Manifest…”

“I will deliver it myself.” Meriva assured him.

The man thanked him, and forever remains silent.

Meriva stood up quietly, and begin to utter a chant. A yellow square appeared beneath his feet, rotating slowing.

This caught many of the peacekeepers off-guard, as most of them had never seen a square-shaped magic insignia before in their life. The one who knew what it was, quickly yelled at the others to stop him.

But they were too late.

A shockwave was sent throughout the room, knocking back the men around him. From the summoning square below him, rises a huge creature. It has the body of a tiger, except it was yellow with black stripes, and had a large pair of wings, also with the same color. It has a pair of massive bull horns on its head, and giant saber-tooth fangs sticks out of his mouth. It stares down the terrified men with its big, blue and empty eyes.

“Kyuki, spare no one.” Meriva commanded the beast coldly.

The entire thing was within two minutes, after which the beast took off into the sky.

“Meriva, what’s the situation?”

“Our base of operations was raided by the Citadel Peacekeepers, they must’ve have gotten wind of our activities in this city…”

“…The others?”

“Dead or arrested.”

“And the Manifest?”

Meriva reached into his bag and pulled out a clear, prism-shaped crystal.

“I grabbed it before I left.”

The man on the screen let out an audible sigh of relief.

“That’s good news, the weapon cargo may be expendable, but we can’t afford to lose the Manifest…”

“I know that Rekord…”

The man noticed his eyes looked distant.

“Is… Something else the matter?”

“Nothing, it’s just late…”

“Fine, but just remember; you’re not out of the woods yet.” Rekord warned him. “The rest of us will be coming in from the northwest to escort you and the Manifest out of the city.”

“Very well, I’ll meet you across the end of the North-side Bridge in about a minute…”

“Take care now Meriva, we have suffered enough losses for one night, we cannot lose the Manifest, as well as another Chosen…”

“I understand… I’ll see you on the other side.”

“As with you… And hurry, it won’t be long before the Bureau’s Air Force scrambles their Interceptors…”

The screen disappears.

Looking to his far right, Meriva could see a large skyscraper with a large digital clock on its side, indicating the time to be nearly 3 am. He could see his destination up head, the end of the large bridge connecting the two parts of the city together. Tightening his hold over the Manifest, Meriva urge his summon to fly towards it, whispering the words that were spoken to him from long ago.

We are the chosen ones of the Vauxhall Clan, masters of great holy beasts…

A brilliant flash of light from below caught his attention.

“Time’s up.”

A blue magic beam was fired from the ground, which streamed through the air, slicing a clean opening across the side of Kyuki’s right wing, sending the beast spiraling towards the ground in agony. A bone-crutching, thunderous crash shook the entire bridge when the monster smashed into it, waking up the other half of the city’s occupants in the process.

From the highway across the other side of the city, Graham puts down the binoculars.

“Well,” He blinked. “That’s gotta hurt…”

The man turns back to his communication screen.

“It’s alright Captain, everything’s under control now… You can call off the Air Force.”

“Commodore Graham,” Garran glared at him. “My men on the field are reporting that something shot down that monster… That same monster which took out an entire peacekeeper unit!”

“So it would seem…” Graham remembered something. “Oh, and by the way Captain…”

“Huh?”

“It’s Admiral Graham.”

Meriva fight to open his eyes; the rough texture he felt on his cheek and hands tells him that he’s currently on the road.

What just happen…?

He could hear his summoned grunting in pain and felt it trying to get back on its feet. Judging from sound, he guessed that he couldn’t have fallen too far away.

Kyuki… In pain? T-That’s not possible!

Meriva struggled onto his feet, and limped slowly towards his summoned.

We are the champions of the Vauxhall, the chosen ones…

He silently spoke to the wounded animal.

It is us who are the monsters…

He walked closer.

Great beings who have power beyond mortal humans…

Meriva reached out to his beast.

Nothing can be stronger than a monster…

“Right, Kyuki?” He asked the beast.

The unexpected reply came in the form of a cold, mechanical voice.

“Cartridge load; Break Impulse.”

A solid ‘boom!’ was heard coming from the other side of the monster, and a large hole instantaneously appeared through the center of the creature’s body, splashing blood all over Meriva.

…Right?

From the belly of the beast emerged a dark figure. He wore a black barrier jacket with silver chains and lining covering the sides of the coat. A mantle attached to the jacket covers a portion of his neck and chin. A small poach strapped to a double layer leather belt hangs to his left side. In his right hand held a long, whitish-blue spear with an unusual triangle-like head. The staff was emitting steam from its sides, showing that it had just very recently been used.

Graham-centric it is but Clyde steals the show with his entrance. Lotte kicking out the little bird called Nightingale too. Need MOAR.

Pretty quiet here lately but can't be helped. I'm continuing lurker status until I finish some of my own stories, in particular that one piece C2F was so looking forward to until I killed his appetite. Fair to say it's been shaping up nicely with the few moments I can spare to work on it.

I think it's similar to the method of magic used in Slayers. Slayers had two types of damage: Physical and Astral. Physical caused normal wounds, spells like Fireball or Dragu Slave were part of this. Spells like Elmekia Lance or Ra Tilt would target the astral body. Targeting the astral body of a normal human would merely cause them to fall unconsious as their energy is sapped away (Mazoku on the other hand, only have an astral body, so they would die)

I think the Nanohaverse magic operates on a similar level, with spells having either 'physical' or 'magical' properties. Unlike the Slayers spells, the magical properties can be messed with, giving a spell more physical properties or more magical properties at will.

That is a very interesting theory. I had forgotten about that aspect of Slayer's magic. Now that you mention it, it does kinda fit except didn't Astral magic not affect physical constructs (i.e. buildings) when used? Why must this magic be so complicated

Gah...Riders in the OC and I just started to watch Kamen Rider Kabuto and Den-O, too . Not to mention random Kamen Rider Ryuki Youtube clips. That would probably explain where THIS came from...

Under the orange glow of the setting sun, people mingled about the end of their day of work. For some work was just about to begin for the evening shift. People talked and mingled about here and there, carrying on their normal routines in spite of the mysterious disappearances that had started to make the news. It was but a small abnormality in the larger world, our world. To them on the other hand, it was normal. It was survival.

IT, like the others of its kind, watched the humans mingle about, completely oblivious to its presence. IT didn't mind, as there was no way they could notice it anyway. They were its prey, its food.

From the clean glass plane IT watched and waited. There were too many around that would cause a commotion should it feast now. IT would wait until it could grab one without being noticed so as not to scare the food away from the hunting grounds.

The creature's patience would soon be rewarded as the crowds thinned as the bus departed from the now empty stop. A lone salary man made his way to the stop, oblivious to the danger around him. Yes, now was the time to strike. IT would soon have a well deserved meal. From the glass IT carefully reached out into our world towards the man. IT licked its lips in anticipation of the meal it was about to catch...

WHAM

IT stumbled back from the glass in its world as pain coursed through its stomach. Something had hit it. Hard. But that was impossible! Prey couldn't see IT when it reached into the prey's world. There was no way...

WHAM

Another blow sends the creature rolling across the floor, breaking its thoughts. IT stands quickly and steels itself to face its attacker. A quick scan of the area locates a lone figure standing where IT once stood by the glass. The attacker wore a white blouse and black skirt. Long hair was tied neatly into an off-centered ponytail.

A HUMAN?! Prey in its world?! Impossible! The only prey that came here were to be eaten. None could come under their own abilities. Unless...the rumors. IT had heard of rumors being passed amongst its kind.

The female held a black container in her hand. It looked like it was open at one end with a simple red orb set on one of the sides. She also wore...a belt? Why hadn't IT noticed noticed the large, silver belt before? The rumors! No! They couldn't be true!

She stared back into its inhuman eyes and said one word.

"Henshin."

With a quick arm movement, the black container slammed into the odd looking belt with a click...and glowed. IT had to cover its eyes from the light that emitted from the prey for a brief moment. Lowering its arms, IT took a step back. Gone was the female prey that had attacked it. Instead stood the things from the rumors. A creature of humanoid form covered in white armor. Blue stripes highlighted the armor sections on the body with blue gauntlets on the arms. Red, orval gems decorated the shoulders and boots. A white mask with large, blue almost bug-like orbs for eyes completed the outfit. An all too familiar belt was wrapped around its waist.

There was no doubt in its mind now. This was the thing from the rumors, the things that sought to destroy IT and its kind. The beings known to them only as Riders.

I might have completely misinterpreted half the canon, but it seemed to go without saying to me that Ancient Belka and Al Hazared were the same, or at least Al Hazared was Belkan in nature.

That is a very interesting theory. I had forgotten about that aspect of Slayer's magic. Now that you mention it, it does kinda fit except didn't Astral magic not affect physical constructs (i.e. buildings) when used? Why must this magic be so complicated

It also explains how Rein can suddenly use physical shots against Agito; but does this mean that mages can create matter in small quantities/transmute mana into matter?
