It took me 17 hours to beat it, and I did not do a perfect stealth run. In fact, I generally let whatever happened happen, and would either flee or kill upon discovery rather than reload. And I missed some runes and bone charms, despite going out of my way to try to find them, so there still stuff I didn't do. And I know there are still areas I didn't fully explore.

So since my last post I played through the game and it was great. My next play-through going to play it on its hardest and no help from the AI. It took me around 8 hours to complete it. It was nice to play a thief game again.

I finished the game in 13h now. I played on hard and tried being a silent assassin who kills only his targets and tries to avoid everything else.
Next I try for the Clean Hands achievement.
And if I play for a third time I will go on a all killing spree.

Related: I happened to find on YouTube a playthrough of Skyfall's first mission. Apparently, the developers thought enough about stealth gameplay that you have to worry about whether enemies can hear you as well as see you, and have to be careful about just where you take one down... but somehow, didn't see fit to let the player move bodies to better hiding places. To be fair, Splinter Cell: Conviction is guilty of this as well, but at least there's a workaround-of-sorts there.

I thought it was a shame that the Regent had killed Pendleton and that other guy as it would have been a little more interesting if the final mission had been split into 3 parts or at least made it an optional choice to assassinate them.

Also I'm guessing the heart you carried about was the empresses ?

Also I didn't seem to get the 4 separate achievements relating to not being seen or not killing anyone which was a little disappointing since I played though it pretty meticulously =/

Correct. I was watching some playthroughs thereof on YouTube, and that was just one thing that didn't do the game any favors. It would be interesting to see how the devs rationalized this omission.

Curious. I checked out Gamespot's ghost playthrough; one thing they point out is that unconscious guards falling to their death (i.e. sliding off a roof) or getting devoured by rat packs do count as kills - something like that might have happened without your being aware of it.

Naa I've checked the mission stats via the missions menu and they all have "don't kill anyone" and "Ghost (not spotted)" boxes ticked. I didn't even kill any of the targets I dispatched them all with other means and I'm not even sure I got the achievement for that also =s

This actually happens when you make a high chaos playthrough. The whole Island is locked in a 3 way fight between Havelock, Pendelton and Martin. Because "who controls the girl, controls the empire", making Pendelton and Martin optional targets.

And yes it's the empresses heart.

Just finished, took about nearly 20 hours. I begin with careful not to kill anyone, but once I found out Havlock and co betrayed me, I went into a killing frenzy and wasted everyone in the pub. The proceed to clean house on the Island. All those ammo I saved up throughout the game finally put into good use

Chain blink+ knife in the face = Tallboy kill X 4. Really love the in-your-face animation.

I didn't kill any of the bosses except for Mr. Campbell, since I think rightfully deserve it. Plus, reading the spoiler means if he lives he become a weeper. Unacceptable.

Only thing I wish is this game had more targets...oh well.

I still couldn't understand why they had to backstab Corvo, especially since they keep arguing "their crimes will come to light". What crimes? For overthrowing the regent?

It seems that way. They at least wanted to seem loyal to the whole thing, so they could get the support of the people loyal to the Lord Regent while producing Emily (who they "saved") as the true heir and gain the support of the normal people.

As they figured Corvo would have something against this, they decided to remove him and everyone else knowing about thier parts in the whole rebellion.
