Excellent episode. More exposition, but also plenty of action.
Lancer's summoning sequence is skipped. But judging by the intro, Archibald is going to be Lancer's master. The field is pretty stacked, but it looks like good ol' Gilgamesh is still quite ridiculous. I also liked the illustrations for the ending. Quite fitting and got me guessing about the identities of the servants. |

Great episode. I love the end but the op is still better for me. Btw, can someone tell me what Iri excatly said to Saber about Kiritsugu. In a french translation, I have something like : "Between Kiristugu and Arthuria there is a huge gap" When for the english one it's : There will be no eyes contact or something like that. So I think the best one is the second one but I'm not sure. |

Highlight of the episode, those with Caster in it. Also lolilya. She got more animation budget than Taiga in all of her appearances in Carnival Phantasm.

I love those "hand made" backgrounds... stills of course but they add a lot to the visual experience.
The frame rate during the futile incursion of assassin was pretty good, nothing to say OMG but still better than other premiers I saw for this season. |

I was wearing earphones while watching the episode and at the scene when the little kid stared at the door I took the earphones out and hold it a distance away from my ears. Best decision I ever made, I never read the novels just a few pages but I knew something terrible will happen to him. Learned that lesson from Madoka.
Eh, I thought Kotomine will never betray Tohsaka, or maybe after a few days into the battle. Very fast for someone who has no desire for the Grail. |

Assassin dead already?
At least he got to show some of his skills to the audience before he got defeated instantly. The Rider pair is fun to watch. The Caster pair is... also interesting to watch, in a sickening way though. (Who is this Caster based off... I wonder if they will tell...) Loli (more than usual) Iriya was as cute as usual. Loliya? ED is pretty awesome, with the images of the Servants' pasts.
