Volume 6 is actually a very good choice for the movie, since it kind of serve as a side-story that would be hard to incorporate into a regular anime on TV. People can enjoy it even if they havn't even watch the TV series or read the books.

Looks like they're starting a rebroadcast of NGNL in Japan, starting April 4th.
Could be an indicator that the movie's release date could be roughly around July, as that's when the rebroadcast ends.

If they want to use anything from volume 6 then is probably for a s2 (if they want to make a second season). After all volume 6 - 7 are really important, I think you understand why (related to Xuvi and sora/shiro).

Well, I haven't read volume 6, but from what I do know of it, there are aspects of it that are present in that preview (most notably Tet with Izuna).

But it looks like madhouse did really good job with the animation.

That's volume 6 alright. The description totally says it's volume 6 and I recognize many scene from the PV. They're doing the whole of volume 6 based on the PV. Can't wait!

Yeah, noticed the same, maybe this is just like Mahouka movie using part of the LN and adding other stuff.
