@Lhklan: The rescue scene could use a fair amount more polish. I had a hard time following the flow of events the first time I read it through and some of Yuuno's actions felt off. For instance, going from coming across a life or death situation and binding a dangerous foe to immediately making deliveries so casually feels kind of like mood whiplash in a bad way. Perhaps him being dismissed by the healers and/or Signum would help?

Though I think the reasoning behind Yuuno saving Due is fairly good. Channeling a bit of Emiya Shirou there as well.

And it is not wrong at all to want to write more Yuuno/Due. =3

As for AUs... Choosing a viable setting isn't easy. My own is still going through massive development to make it workable in the long term.

Four hours later...

Verossa raised an eyebrow as he saw Lutecia sleeping. "I'm almost afraid to ask..." He trailed off, looking at Due, who whistled a soft tune. "Just what did you do?"

"What? Just because I might have slipped a sedative into her drink a couple of hours ago doesn't mean that I did anything wrong at all." Due tried her best to look innocent.

Which failed a moment later when Megane grabbed her, threw her to the door and blasted her with a purple energy blast. "Stay out, you maniac!"

Verossa sighed and shook his head, "anyway," closing his eyes, he put a hand on Lutecia's forehead and took a deep breath as he dove into her mind again. 'Now then, what am I..?' His thoughts trailed off as he saw what he was looking for, an inky black mass that swirled around in Lutecia's mind. 'What the hell?' His eyes widened as his mental body was stabbed with inky blank tendrils. 'UGH! Okay, that hurt,' he grimaced, thankful that the pain wasn't physical, otherwise he'd be dead at that moment.

He was about to remove the substance from his mental body when he heard an echo. "Master... Obey... Please me."

'What the hell?!' Verossa mentally screamed as he attacked the inky black mess, getting it to dislodge from his body. The next thing he saw was the ink suddenly split into dozens of small bits and disappearing completely. 'What was that?' Looking down, he saw a piece of black sludge slide onto his foot.

"Master... Need... Where..? Help me."

'Lu, what's wrong with your voice? What is going on here?'

"Need you, master... Where are you?'

Verossa's eyes widened. 'You have got to be kidding, even with her missing memories, she still has a compulsion for needing a master?' Though, he had a feeling that she needed more than just a master. 'I don't have the experience, what is it that you need?' He threw his head back and screamed as several tendrils pierced his body.

Oddly enough, none of them were causing him pain, in fact, it was almost pleasant. 'Wait a second, I'm getting stabbed by these things and I'm not in pain?' His eyes widened as a flash of memory struck him, driving him to his knees. 'Lu... Oh damn...' Closing his eyes, he forced himself free from her mind. The next thing that Verossa knew, he was back in his body and laying on the floor. "Ugh... I feel sick..." He looked at Due and Megane's concerned faces. "Let me get my thoughts in order and I'll tell you what I found out."

It was about an hour later at the kitchen table where Megane was staring in shock at what Verossa told her. "You... But you erased her memories..."

"Muscle memory," Due spoke up as she stood by the refrigerator, "even if the reasons for it are gone, her body hasn't forgotten." She slapped her forehead and groaned, "can't believe I didn't realize it sooner."

Verossa sighed and looked at Megane. "Believe me, if I could have avoided this, I would have. I doubt I can ever get rid of the conditioning that she went through. That doesn't make this situation helpless though. I might be able to put some blocks in that can reduce any of those feelings in her."

"I don't like the thought of someone messing with her mind too much, but the alternative is to find her someone to be intimate with her?" Megane winced, Lutecia was only thirteen, even if she looked a bit older.

"I think finding her someone to help her isn't a bad idea." Due shrugged, getting a glare from Megane. "I'm not suggesting myself, if that's what you think. I prefer older men to younger children."

"What are you suggesting, find her some sugar daddy to help take care of that?"

Due shrugged at Megane's question. "If it helps." Seeing Verossa wince and the way that Megane narrowed her eyes, Due held her hands up. "I was kidding. I don't want to whore Lulu out, if that's what you're thinking." Due turned to look at Lutecia's room. "But anyway, can you put a block around that stuff?"

"For awhile, maybe a year." Verossa rubbed his eyes and stood up. "Shouldn't be too hard, but it might take me some time."

"I'll get to making dinner then." Megane stood up and pushed Due out of the room. "You get to explain to Zest when he comes back tonight."

Due's face went completely white. "Why do I have to explain?!" When Megane gave her a smirk, she sighed and went outside. "Great, just great... Why do I feel like my daddy's going to be mad at me when he gets home? Zest isn't even my father!"

She just hoped that Zest wasn't in a bad mood when he got there.

Verossa staggered out of the room and groaned as he leaned against the wall. Closing his eyes, he took several deep breaths while trying to calm his nerves down. Getting that stupid compulsion that was seemingly etched into Lutecia's mind and body under control was a pain. Opening his eyes, they were angry and troubled. Standing up fully, he made his way to the kitchen and nodded to Megane. "She's fine, she'll be a little confused when she wakes up, but she should be fine. I really don't know what else I can do for her."

Megane nodded to him. "Thank you." Both of them turned as Due walked in with Zest. The big man instantly looked at Verossa, who sighed and nodded to him.

"Lutecia's fine for now. I don't know what else I can do for her right now." Verossa then looked at Due and narrowed his eyes. "Normally I wouldn't speak ill of the dead, but I'm glad that your sister was killed. If she was alive right now, I'd see just how far my mental abilities can go and use her as a test subject."

Due shrugged at that. "I don't blame you. I just wish I could go back in time and finish her off myself."

Zest looked at Megane and nodded. "Excuse me." He stepped out of the room.

Sighing, Verossa walked over to the table and sat down, taking off his jacket and draping it over the back of his chair. 'What next?' He thought to himself.

"What's this?" Due asked as she picked up something on the floor. Verossa turned to look over his shoulder and his eyes widened as he saw her opening a small box. "Woah! Who's this for?"

"Give me that!" Verossa grabbed the box and shoved it into the inside of his coat pocket. His face reddened and he looked away as Due giggled at him. "Guh... Stop acting so smug." It didn't help that Megane had a knowing look on her face. "Just... Knock it off, it's for my girlfriend, okay?"

"I hope it works out for you then." Megane nodded to him and went back to finishing up supper.

Zest looked at his sleeping daughter before kneeling down next to the bed and brushing the hair away from her sleeping face. "I never was much of a father, was I?" He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "It's not fair to either of you, is it?" Opening his eyes, he nodded to her. "You deserve better than what I've been giving." Gently cupping Lutecia's cheek, he smiled as she started to nuzzle it.

Thankfully he had already made arrangements. After next month, he was going to get a long-deserved vacation.

He wanted to be with his family, after all.

I'm actually drawing a blank to be honest. The only white haired sword using merc that comes to mind is Griffith. And he's not exactly... yeah. As for nuns... Index comes to mind.

Megane nodded to him. "Thank you." Both of them turned as Due walked in with Zest. The big man instantly looked at Verossa, who sighed and nodded to him.

"Lutecia's fine for now. I don't know what else I can do for her right now." Verossa then looked at Due and narrowed his eyes. "Normally I wouldn't speak ill of the dead, but I'm glad that your sister was killed. If she was alive right now, I'd see just how far my mental abilities can go and use her as a test subject."

Due shrugged at that. "I don't blame you. I just wish I could go back in time and finish her off myself."

Zest looked at Megane and nodded. "Excuse me." He stepped out of the room.

Sighing, Verossa walked over to the table and sat down, taking off his jacket and draping it over the back of his chair. 'What next?' He thought to himself.

"What's this?" Due asked as she picked up something on the floor. Verossa turned to look over his shoulder and his eyes widened as he saw her opening a small box. "Woah! Who's this for?"

"Give me that!" Verossa grabbed the box and shoved it into the inside of his coat pocket. His face reddened and he looked away as Due giggled at him. "Guh... Stop acting so smug." It didn't help that Megane had a knowing look on her face. "Just... Knock it off, it's for my girlfriend, okay?"

"I hope it works out for you then." Megane nodded to him and went back to finishing up supper.

Zest looked at his sleeping daughter before kneeling down next to the bed and brushing the hair away from her sleeping face. "I never was much of a father, was I?" He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "It's not fair to either of you, is it?" Opening his eyes, he nodded to her. "You deserve better than what I've been giving." Gently cupping Lutecia's cheek, he smiled as she started to nuzzle it.

Thankfully he had already made arrangements. After next month, he was going to get a long-deserved vacation.

He wanted to be with his family, after all.

Chapter 6: Interlude

**** Infinity Library, Friday ****

“Yuuno!!!” A cheerful voice called out.

Having finished today’s workload, Yuuno had decided to read the book he had bought Due a few days before. Looking up, he saw Hayate enter the Library, a happy smile on her face, causing a small smile of his own..

“Hi there Hayate. How can I help you?”

“Mou. Can’t I just visit one of my friends?” Hayate pouted at his question.

“Sorry” Yuuno smiled sheepishly.

“No need!” Her smile immediately returned “Say, are you busy this Sunday?”

“I need to check my schedule. Why?”

“It’s Nanoha’s birthday! Don’t tell me you forgot?”

Yuuno blinked. So caught up in Chrono’s investigations that he had actually forgot about it.

“From the looks on your face I’ll say you did.” Hayate commented.

“Yeah. I was really busy these past days. You can blame Chrono for that.” Yuuno said, as a holoscreen popped up. “Unfortunately, he had another job for me. Looks like I won’t make it after all.”

“Really? Can’t you reschedule it? Fate has taken a day off, and she asked me to come get you.” Hayate asked

“I can, but I doubt Chrono would listen.” Yuuno replied.

Hayate smiled mysteriously. “I think I know a way…”

**** Later ****

“How the hell did you pull it off?” As soon as he saw Hayate, Yuuno make a beeline toward
her. “He just called me and said that we would take the trip later.”

Giggling, Hayate made a sweeping gesture “Because I’m Hayate Yagami! There is nothing I can’t do.”

The blond nodded solemnly, before bowing “Forgive me for doubting you, o Queen of the Night Sky”

“You are forgiven, Librarian.” Hayate dramatically intoned.

They stayed like that for 1 second, before burst out laughing.

“Seriously though, how did you do it?” Yuuno was quite curious.

“I ‘accidentaly’ mentionned the fact that Nanoha’s birthday is coming up. Chrono, predictably, didn’t think much about it, until I said that Fate is obviously coming, and that Verossa might try to hit on her. Naturally, the man change his mind immediately.”

“It was that easy?” the blond asked incredulously.

“Yup.”

Facepalming, Yuuno can’t help but feel sorry for Verossa. Chrono’s overprotective streak ran a mile wide, ESPECIALY when it comes to his sister’s love life.

“Well, since we got time, how about a shopping trip?”

**** Mid Childa Shopping District ****

Yuuno sighed. Hayate and him had visited quite a few shop, and yet they haven’t found anything for Nanoha.

“Mou… It shouldn’t be this hard.” Hayate complained “I mean, we know what she likes, right? So how come we haven’t got anything?”

“Honestly, I don’t know. “Yuuno replied.

“Maybe we can find it in there.” The brown haired girl pointed toward a rather large
supermarket.

“Well, let’s go then.”

Turn out, they DID find something for Nanoha. Hayate got her a bottle of perfume with Nanoha’s favorite scent, while Yuuno bought a cook book. It was when they were about to leave that something caught Yuuno’s attention.

“Hey Hayate… could you wait for me a bit? I want to buy something.” Yuuno asked his companion. “It won’t take long.”

“Allright.” Hayate watched with curiosity as Yuuno enter a convenience store. He exited a short while later, carrying a small bag alongside the book he had bought earlier.

“Sorry for making you wait. Do you want to go now?”

“Sure. But what’s in that bag Yuuno?” A teasing grin slowly makes it way onto her face. “Special gift for Nanoha?”

“No. They’re for a few friends of mine. They’ve been helping me a lot, so I though I should repay them.” Yuuno replied.

“Oh? Are they female?” Noticing her friend slight blush, she cackled inwardly “ My I didn’t know you were such a playboy Yuuno.”

“I-it’s not like that!” Yuuno protested.

“I’m just messing with you. I know you’re not that sort of guy.”

After that, Yuuno insisted that he escort her home, much to Hayate’s dismay. They chatted a bit about their life, their current project, and the newest gossip around HQ. Yuuno was quite amused to heard the one about Chrono trying to seduce several females TSAB employees while drunk.

As he dropped her off at the Yagami residence, Hayate gave him hug before bouncing inside. Chuckling at her antics, Yuuno hailed a cab and head home. He’ll give the gift to the intended later, perhaps before after their trip to the bunker

I also have another idea that I may or may not write after this.

As for birthdays... I'm really not sure. I've never written one myself, but I imagine you'd conjure up a birthday as you'd see it and insert the cast.

I'm a bit iffy on the Highschool AU, if only because I'm not a fan of that brand of AU. However if you feel you can pull it off, I say go for it. Yuuno/Due seems to be your guilty pleasure. And interesting choice for Chrono's romance.

"Damn it" Due cursed as she dodge to the side. Multiple energy blasts rain down next to her. She had to duck as an axe swept by above her, cutting a few strands of hair.

Yuuno stares at the screen in front of him. At this rate, his friend won't hold out much longer. With both Deville and Fortis working together, the former taking potshot whenever the latter fire.

He need to something, and fast. He made up his mind.

"Chrono, how's the evacuation?"

"The last shuttle just escaped the vicinity. Now Due is the only one left."

"Good. How fast can you get us out of here?"

"A few seconds. Why?"

"When I gave you the signal, I want the ship to immediately head for the space." Puzzled, the Admiral gave his orders to prepare for launch.

Yuuno close his eyes and concentrated. He need to be careful about this. Two magic circles appeared, one on his palm, another one in front of the librarian.. Chrono, who had noticed Yuuno's action, noted that the circles is the one used for Forced Teleportation.

The smaller circle glowed, yet nothing seems to be happening at first. Suddenly, Fortis's image on the holoscreen fall to his knees, clutching his chest. Deville, seeing his leader state, rushed to his side.

At the same time, the second circle glowed. Another circle appeared on the holoscreen undearneath the Combat Cyborg. Then she appeared on the Claudia's bridge, right where Yuuno's larger circle once reside.

"NOW!!!" Yuuno yelled, even as he stumbled on his steps.

The ship's engine roared to life, and the Claudia began rising up.

"Yuuno?" Uno asked as she enter the librarian's room. "It's something wrong? You don't look well."

He was sitting on the bed, his hands supporting his head. When he heard her enter, he had look up and his face looked terrible.

"It's ... nothing Uno." The man smiled, but she can tell right away that it's forced smile.

"It's this about what you did?" Seeing Yuuno stiffened posture, Uno knew that she made the right guess.

"I ... it's ... You know me too well it seems." He sighed. "I ..."

"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to." Uno sat down on the bed. "..." Yuuno remained silent for a while. When he spoke, he sounded distraugh. "It wasn't supposed to be use that way... Where it another person, it would have killed them."

"But you used to save Due." Uno pointed out "Isn't it good enough?"

"I wanted to saver her, yes. But part of me wanted to make the bastard hurt. To make him suffer. And that scared me. I once swore to never use my spells like that after an accident. But now, I violated that oath. And I deliberately do it." He let out a mocking chuckle "I wonder... does that make me a monster?"

Her next action suprised him, and yet, he couldn't help but feel a sense of deja vu.

"Shh..." Uno whispered into his ears. "The fact that you regretted your actions, that you're tormenting yourself over it is more than enough to prove otherwise. Ultimately, you wanted to save, not kill like monster do. And..." Here Uno paused, and had Yuuno turn around, he would have saw the Number's face blusing bright red "Twice now you have saved my sister.
To me, that makes you not a monster, but a knight."

Yeah... a bit cheesy at the end. As for what Yuuno did...

Basically, he telefragged Fortis. It's like this: he teleported Fortis's inner organ *coughheartcough*, but instead of moving it far away, he just moved it a few milimeters. That mean that while the guy is missing something, at the same time he still have it. But his regenerative system only recognise the former as the problem, and thus try to regenerate it. Too bad that the original one is still there, and it messed up the process.
And in case anyone said anything about Eclypse Virus, here's how it happened:
1 It was a surprise attack. Fortist didn't see it coming, and thus was hit by surprise.
2 It was too fast. The attack ended before the Eclypse Anti-Magilink ability can kick in, thus it affected him.

Hmm... The idea of Yuuno telefragging someone is a good ability, but I'd be cautious with the use of intsa-kill maneuvers. Also, something like that requires a lot of detail and explanation to properly execute in terms of story. I'm not as familiar with the finer workings of the Eclipse Virus, so I couldn't comment on those legitimately.

As for the Yuuno/Uno moment, it was sweet. Though with the amount of killing Yuuno seems to be doing, I'd suggest either dialing back his reactions a bit or have him seek help to cope with it.

Thanks. This is still just the barebone, so there's still a few details that need to be worked out.
Well, Yuuno technically didn't kill the f*cker, seeing as he's still alive.
And what do you mean by dialing his reactions back a bit? I'm kinda confused about that one.

There's only a few known ways to kill a full-fledged EC-Driver so far:

- Deprive them of killing/destruction
- Wait till the virus finally enter it's final stage and start consuming the host's body
- Blow their heads up

Altought, i don't know if the last one apply with "every Eclipse Driver" or Dego only fall for that because he was a weaker knock-off of the Huckebein(for starters his regenerative abilites were nowhere to be seen in contrast with the likes of Veyron, Cypha or Tohma xDU).

Assuming the last one works with everyone, the Tele-frag would only be a sure insta-kill if their brains end up i the middle of it xD

Ahh, I see. I was under the assumption this is the same Yuuno who killed people as a child in self defense.

The thing is with performing an action, is the more often you do it, the easier it is to deal with in most cases. I was thinking that with having to have killed fairly often for someone in his position, he wouldn't be as broken up about it. Broken up, yes, but not as much. That's just my opinion, however.

But if this is Yuuno's first real attempt at trying to off someone, even an enemy, then I think his reactions are fine.

Either way, you have a very good groundwork for further Yuuno/Uno developments.

This wasn't mean to kill. Yuuno just needed to distract them to get Due to safety.
It's still a lethal application, so Yuuno swore to never use it.
Although now I'm tempting to rewrite so that Yuuno telefragged the brain...
