well o sure enjoyed how the ova used most of the best Bgm from index S1, and the ova itself was better than a lot of episodes of the railgun series, but it makes me think that it seems that touma used to stalk mikoto waiting to meet her in thet same spot.

Dear lord... It seems the moderators don't want to make a thread for the OVA...
Anyways, loved the OVA. It really reminded me of how enjoyable that series was... *sigh* The OP was absolutely wonderful. The ED's atmosphere was also nice, but the visuals were just reusing magazine scans and stuff... The plot was a lot more serious than I expected, but it did pretty good, so okay there.

The openings were just amazing, especially the first one
I first thought this would be your average plotline where Mikoto and her friends just go through the average day in the city.. But then all of a sudden the plot turned serious 10/10

If you mean "what volume/chapter do the first 12 episodes cover, so where should I start to read the manga storyline that wasn't animated," then start with volume 4.

Yeah I know you are right and what are you talking about (spoiler in this series so, lets avoid taling about what) but the weakness doesn't come from the plot itself but from how extended/directed the arc was, also "Miss Obvious Villainess" was a downfall .

Railgun BD/DVD first week sales:
BD: 2: *20,639 *20,639 DVD: 10: *8,306 *8,306 So 28,945 sales of the OVA overall in its first week. Wow. And for perspective, here are total sales for all Railgun anime volumes. Quote:
EDIT: Okay, decided to do it. 158,774 Blu-ray sold total | 58,218 DVD sold total | 216,992 BD+DVD sold total | Roughly ¥1,250,345,250 made from Blu-ray sales, which is roughly $15.19 million in USD Roughly ¥397,337,850 made from DVD sales, which is roughly $4.83 million in USD So, together that makes ¥1,647,683,100, or roughly $20.13 million in USD Now if only we knew the production costs so we could calculate how much profit J.C.Staff made.

a) A lot of people don't pay MSRP for DVDs or BDs (Amazon sells at 27% off, for example) b) The stores, distributors, and other middlemen all take a cut of that, so the actual amount of revenue received by the manufacturer is less than half. Not to mention there is actually a cost to produce the merchandise as well. c) Geneon is the publisher/distributor of the show; the money doesn't go to J.C.Staff. (It's quite possible that J.C.Staff may have been paid a fixed rate for their work; hard to say...) d) The actual animation itself is one of the smaller costs associated with the production. A lot more money is spent on broadcasting and promotion, among other things. So I don't think a simplistic calculation of just multiplying the number of DVDs/BDs sold by the MSRP really tells us much. What we can say, though, is that this show was certainly among the more successful shows of the year.

Concerning point a, I took that into account; IIRC Amazon pays the publishers back for the 27% cut they give to consumers, so I didn't think it mattered whether or not I took the 27% cut into consideration or not. You're right about everything else though, and thanks for putting more perspective out. And I'd say it was the third most successful this year, behind K-ON!! and Angel Beats.
