Episode 15 was entertaining. LOL at the continual Milky Holmes appearances at the end. Considering how Emi likes cute characters in her deck, it wouldn't be surprised if they are going to be a part of her deck.

Also, with the way Aichi is going, I would not be surprised if Emi beats him in a card fight battle either...

Well, Emi is quite a good moeblob. Loved her "guard". But she should really resign herself about boosting. It's fine against Lose-umi, but can she win against a normal opponent without it?

Um... No.

There's no way to damage your opponent without attacking them, and so far the only card we've seen which wouldn't be affected by "no boosting" would be Alfred, since he gets power in a different way.

You'd basically be giving yourself a -5000 to all your attack power, every time. That's suicide unless you're playing against an idiot. Which she was

Nice episode, Emi is pretty entertaining. The episode was also a little nostalgic in a way, but dunno why.

This is one of the best filler episodes I've ever seen.

Spoiler for episode 15:

I felt sorry for Maiden of Libra when she had to ride Amaterasu.

Kinda sudden, but did anyone else get classic 60s/70s anime vibes from the opening theme? I'm surprised it took me this long to realize that's what they were going for.

I just started watching this anime and so far I like it. It has a different feel to other card game animes that I watched. The card game is also pretty fun. I got myself the royal paladen deck plus a few boosters and the game is pretty fast. I also liked that you can only play your better effects only when your losing so this would help catch you up if you are taking a pounding.

Taking a turn for the mystic. Looks like it has something to do with Kai's surliness, too.

So how are the rules for this game? From the sounds of it they are a lot more complicated than Yu-Gi-Ohs. I ask like I did in the Suite Precure thread cause I need something light and fun for the summer weekends. I figure I'll grab a Precure and a Card show, but haven't been able to decide if I want a Yu-Gi-Oh or this one. It'll come down to the rules.....

They are very easy to grasp. IMO they are much easier compared to Yu-Gi-Oh.

After watching episode 23, I decided to pop my head out of my shell and say a bit about this show since hey it's been a while since I last had anything to say about it.

Thus far, the most enjoyable episodes had been episodes 19 and this one, with the tournament storyline being the best string of episodes so far. I think it had to do with us seeing more fights with less predictability and more tactics and generally better strategy, and finally seeing some characters (Kai) show us why exactly they are so good rather than simply tell us.

I sort of liked the slapstick here regarding Kamui being forced into marriage ^^; it was amusing enough in it's own way, and the fight itself was interesting to watch (plus tying the red string of faith around their pinkies just made me LOL hard. I love when this show pokes fun at moments when it takes itself most seriously)

Anyway, episode 23 had us go back to PSY, as any one who every played a card game on a handheld knows, that is just the course of action a story takes after beating a tournament .

So anyway, this episode we are introduced to the supposed to the final boss, Ren. Aside from looking like a women, the man is generally a douche, by avoiding every logical answer to the question Q4 had initially asked him, and being generally creepy and all evil looking.

The episode also cements that yes, there is supernatural elements to this anime. Apparently, children card games in Japan is synonymous with the dark arts, and Ultra Rare is apparently recruiting (?) people from all around with abilities to help with their ... mission, I guess?

Anyway, the fight was really fun this time around, even with the frankly unnecessary commentary. I liked how we actually had a bit of nun Coco around to lighten the mood, and the tactics used here, while fairly obvious, were presented much better than usual.

I hope we can get to the point with this show were we no longer need a commentary to help through every fight.

P.S. A question to Quarkboy, do you know if this show is already set to be year long? And a more general question, how is the card game doing so far, did they manage to get a decent holding in the market?

Next episode is another Misaki-centric episode

The show was planned to be a year long. At least I can say it'll be more than 2 cour at this point.

The cards seem to be selling well, and I've been in some card shops where they were holding some early vanguard tournament/trial something or others and it was jam packed.

Not sure how they're holding up through the booster packs and, um... disaster. I still see major advertisements in JR stations though... They have big posters all around the Yamanote line for the booster packs when they come out.

Staying power will be the most interesting question. I wonder if they'll even spring for a second year of anime?
