Apparently, episode 0 and 1 streamed on CR today.
Strange start. The whole mysterious cube and the way this show jumped into the story has that sci-fi vibe but I'm not really sold on the storytelling yet. Characters are mildly interesting although this one will probably be the main focus: Going to give the show a chance but I'm not impressed yet. However, I will say that the CG was done well.

OK. That looks really promising. Liked the way they used episode 0 to establish the characters rather than just throwing them at you, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if that super plating system comes into the story at some point like that old Russian playwright's firearm.

Hmm finally something interesting. Shindou is quite curious and they have convinced me he's good at his job without just relaying it to me in exposition like so many anime. Also very intrigued by Yaha-kui and how Shindou will manage this negotiation.

Oh man, if only Gonzo had this kind of CG back when they did Gankutsuou, the Count's lair would've been even weirder...
So anyway, I suppose this is fun so far? With surprisingly low levels of pretentiousness, although of course the story has just started. Having two episodes to watch made them drag a little - episode 0 was okay as far as main character introductions go, but then episode 1 kept spending too much time on things whose result we already know from the trailer. Also, that assistant girl. Why, anime? You were doing so great being down to earth and (kind of) realistic, why did you have to do this? But I'll be tuning in next week. |

In any case, it wasn't that bad, but I hope the pacing will be better in the rest of the show. |

Very true. I read the first line of the synopsis but then stopped because I have been down this road before and know the feeling of when I will be spoiled by an anime/film/TV show description. Good thing I did, since I read the full paragraph after watching both episodes and I just asked myself.. Why would you write all that? lol
Regardless of that, it seemed ok. Some characters being CG while others not was bothersome to look at. I'm sticking to see what happens though. |

I'm very impressed with Shindo. He's standing on the ledge 2 km up in the air and he doesn't even look fazed.
