Command and Conquer 4

Command & Conquer 4 Announced

Earlier today, Electronic Arts announced that the upcoming chapter in their acclaimed real time strategy franchise, Command & Conquer 4, would bring the Tiberium series to a close, wrapping up a fifteen year series that sold thirty million games. Slated to be released in 2010 for the PC, Command and Conquer 4 will introduce class-based gameplay, mobile bases and persistent player progression through every game mode.

Command and Conquer 4 will take place during the year 2062 at a time of extreme peril for the human race. According to estimates, only six years remain until Tiberium completely makes Earth uninhabitable for life, forcing GDI and the Brotherhood of Nod to cooperate in an attempt to prevent the mineral from destroying mankind. The conclusion to the franchise will reveal the eventual destiny of Nod, GDI, Earth and its Tiberium deposits, as well as Kane's plans that have taken decades to complete.
C&C 4 will feature two campaigns for both GDI and Nod, which can be completed within either a single player or cooperative mode. It will also feature five versus five objective based multiplayer designed to promote teamwork for each side.

According to Mike Glosecki, lead producer of Command & Conquer 4, "Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with an amazing 15-year legacy. We are thrilled to bring the dramatic Tiberium saga to a conclusion in Command & Conquer 4. This game is designed to give fans all the answers they've been looking for. With its objective-based multiplayer mode, persistent player progression and all-in-one mobile base, players will experience Command & Conquer like never before."

We've contacted EA for additional information, and as soon as it's available, we'll bring it to you.
After recently having replayed through C&C3 and Kane's Wrath, hearing this is definitely one of the best gaming news I've heard No confirmed images as of yet, but will definitely keep an eye on this.

I still haven't even beaten Kane's Wrath yet. I've beaten the original two campaigns and the bonus campaign on hard. Multiplayer's the fun part of both games though.

Wonder how they're going to develop C&C4.

C&C was one of the first games I've played when I was 6 years old. I was waiting for this since ages. I hope it'll be good. Not good, EPIC.

I wonder if the Scrin will be in it. It's a must.

I dunno. The way EA's been running about gives reason for concern. C&C3 and KW aren't very well-known for their balance (and trust me I've faced the issues myself). That and their tendency to pump out games as quickly as possible.

After going through all the trouble of introducing the Scrin in C&C3, it'll be difficult imagining that they won't include them in this one. Besides, all the signs point to yet another Scrin invasion, so I trust we'll be seeing more of them here

Glad to see the return of GDI's quadruped mecha

Just the story alone gives me plenty of reason to buy this. This game should wash away the bitter taste that was RA3's story and acting.

As for balance... meh, I mostly play multiplayer with friends anyway. Balance is but a sidedish for us.

Also, mobile bases? Color me intrigued...

It would be great if instead of "women with big boobs but no talent and brain talking to me" they would make Tiberian Sun like FMVs. They were the best! Like some sort of sci-fi series.

... While I do agree that I don't want the "women with big boobs but no talent and brain talking to me" scenario, I would not prefer a Tiberian Sun style FMV. The thing I like about the FMV's is that you are the commander, you give the orders and you reap the benefits. Not some random acting face.

I mean, who wasn't grinning like an idiot and puffing their chest when Kain invited you to his Inner Circle at the end of C&C3? I wouldn't want to lose that feeling of pride, much less in the grand finale of the game.

Hmm, true true. Then, maybe they should mix the two! Dunno how, but maybe like some kind of mini-interactive-Fmv-game, or what. Like in the GDI ending, you confront Kane, and you have to make the right decisions and moves so you can kill him, or something like that.
Just some kind of action, because the FMVs in C&C3 have been very uninspired and boring. Ok there were good moments (mostly with NOD; I like both sides, but GDI was very lame now), but most of them was meh. Even those in the first C&C were better (dunno why, maybe because of nostalgia).

Oh and I want to choose from multiple missions, like in the old games.

First C&C4 trailer to come out in 13 days.

And now for a concept image of some units:

Interesting. Looks like a mix between a Disruptor/Predator tank.

I thought of "Tiberium Dusk" myself, but "Twilight" does have a better ring to it

Not just that, but Tiberian Twilight was the original C&C3 title before the EA takeover.

I have a feeling future C&C games are going to take place all the way out in space seeing ships like these.

If Earth's projected to be inhabitable to human life in 6 years, you would want to build lotsa large spacecraft FAST. Depending on whether Earth is totally consumed by Tiberium or not by C&C4's end, I also can foresee future C&C games going out into space... if they decide on any more

Well it shines in a bright green color. Ergo Schwartz = Tiberium.

IT MAKES SENSE!
