Well, in this case it's the far more useful gun though. Losing that 75 mm is a big deal!
That said, makes one wonder about the systems that govern the flag raising. How does it distinguish, for example, between a "penetrating" hit and a round that just bounces off (note Momo's panic during the Saunders chase)?

Anyway... can the system detect if a tank doesn't have any working gun anymore? |

And we don't know if the system can detect a non-working gun, though if the referee equipment doesn't detect it, it'll be up to the human referees to determine whether the tank can still participate or be listed as "knocked out".

One of Sencha-do rules said (human) referee has the right to decide whether a tank can continue or not. Even if tank a owner argue that their tank is still operatable, if referee said no is no.
Talking about destroying a tank gun, as non tank expert, I would like to ask: How strong is a tank gun compare to other part of tank? - Can a shot from type89 destroy or bend other tank gun?? - Can Panzer IV's old gun destroy Tiger's gun??? - Is aiming to destroy the gun of other tank common in the real battle?

Aiming to destroy the gun of other tank is uncommon since most of tank fight appear in long distance, rarely in close range. Despite when I play Men of War, my JadgTiger usually got hit to the gun because it is too big and got shot from pretty close range.
BTW, for more panzer and panzer grenadier song. German marching songs are good, but I refer Russian marching song . Spoiler for Panzer songs:
And a Vietnamese song about Tank soldiers "5 anh em trên 1 chiếc xe tăng" - "5 brothers in a tank". First sentences of lyrics are "5 brothers in a tank like 5 flower blossom on a brance". Funny lyrics, if you change "anh em" to "chị em" (sisters), it is very suit for Girls und Panzer ).

Flags seem to raise for shells that would have killed the crew or the engine. The 38(t) was still in the practise match with its tank tread having fallen off (only to get hammered by four British tanks at point blank range later on...but that saved the Panzer IV).
That said that carbon layer must be really good, because several of those shots would have easily killed those girls many times over. The Stug III can possibly fix the tread (or at least be used as a fixed position moved by one of the other tanks) The M3 Lee could even be assigned to pivot duty on the Stug. THe M3's gun probably isn't enough against a T-34, but it can be used to suppress their view or likely a bunch of other things. The Panzer IV is now like the Stug III. They have to aim with the tank now.
