I found HiME to be alright, but Otome to be a more fun universe. I mean, I love HiME to bits, but Otome is far more suited to crossovers and epic fanfiction.

I gasped lightly when my cell phone started vibrating in my briefcase. Across the room from me I saw Nanoha quickly reach into hers as well, followed shortly by Hayate shoving her hand inside the bag hanging by her side. All three of us at the same time could only mean one thing: A mission. I discreetly peeked into my bag and saw my phone lit up and demanding to be answered. “T.S.A.B.” was flashing across the screen and I licked my lips. Fortunately for us the bell rang to signal the end of the school day and the three of us took off as fast as we could without looking suspicious. When we all assembled on the roof we took out our phones and answered. Three conversations went on at the same time but the end result was the same: Report to the briefing room for an assignment. It seemed as if we were going to be given a long distance mission again, on some remote planet accented by a blue star near it's moon.

Echoing came down the hallways as the three Aces made their way to the briefing room assigned to them for this current mission. The large regal hallways of the T.S.A.B's main office building towered around them but the three didn't seem nervous as the others around them. Several people stopped in their tracks to salute the three. Already they were famous enough to earn nicknames despite only being seventeen years old. Ranks were passed as if they were nothing to the group, mage level far above people twice their age. Their skills were almost legendary, making soldiers think twice before even engaging them in conversation. Their heels clicked when they reached their target door, eyes firm and dedicated.

Nanoha's stomach growled loudly. “I'm hungry...”

Fate facepalmed. “I told you to eat something before we came...”

“Come on,” Hayate nodded at them and opened the door to lead her friends in. “We're here!” She declared merrily when she saw Chrono and Lindy sitting in chairs across the single table in the room. “Sorry we are a tad late, we had to wait for class to end.” Once they were close enough she stopped to salute them both before sitting with her partners.

Chrono nodded lightly towards them. “Glad to have you all here again.” Leaning forward, he got to the points. “As you may have guessed, we have a mission for you three. This is one that will really push what you have learned.”

Nanoha crossed her legs to try and get comfortable in the stiff chair. “What is it?”

Lindy drank from the small cup of tea in front of herself before replying to the question. “We have had an offer to merge military powers with a non-administrated planet.”

Hayate blinked as this soaked in. “What does that have to do with us?”

Fate leaned back in her chair. “We're not going to have to fight them to prove our power are we?”

“Kind of,” Chrono responded. “We don't know much about this planet other than that it uses a... rather unique form of combat.”

Nanoha's interest was perked at hearing that. “Oh?”

A nod. “Yes. We have dubbed it 'The Otome System' for the time being.”

Lindy took the small silence after that to explain. “The headmaster of a certain school on this planet has contacted us showing interest. It would appear as if this school trains the most powerful warriors on their planet. We need you three to investigate this for us.”

Hayate thought about what was said while Nanoha and Fate looked at each other questioningly. “But...” She stopped her question until she received a nod to go ahead with it. “That is normally handled by officalls dedicated to the relationships between planets... Why are we needed?”

Chrono gave her a light smile. “The headmaster there can't risk her school finding out about this. The details will be given once you accept.”

“Our jobs?” Fate pondered aloud.

The male smiled as the other two girls looked at him expectingly. “Fate, you're job is to infiltrate the school where the training takes place and test how powerful the 'Otome system' is. Your combat experience and fine judgment of character is key to getting a firm grasp on exactly what this technique is. Nanoha,” His eyes turned to the instructor. “You will be her partner and will be responsible for dissecting all the abilities you encounter. From there you will teach Fate how to use said moves to ensure that she gets the full effect of what we will be experiencing.” Looking to the side a little more, he rested his gaze on the final Ace. “And Hayate, your job will be the most important. You will be working outside of the school gathering any and all information you can. You will guide your two partners from afar as well be in control of this entire operation. It will be up to you to work with to insert them into the school and ensure that they stay safe. This will be your first completely solo mission. Once you are dropped off on the planet 'HiMe' it will be entirely up to you.”

The three girls looked at each other in turn before nodding to confirm it. “We accept,” Hayate stated firmly.

A small flick of his wrist sent envelopes to each female. “Here is your additional information,” He smiled to himself. “I knew I could count on you three.”

I am intrigued...even though I have never seen Mai Otome (or My-Hime >_>). And I couldn't help but get some Charlie's Angel vibes from this

Well anyways Lemme list what i have in my Otome Xover.

Spoiler for Idea List : Spoiler Alert-ish:

- The Five Columns (or Pillars to some) know of the TSAB, being the ones that "guided" their ancestors towards Earl in the first place, but have no way of contacting them since it was stated in some of thier secret Novellas, only the TSAB knows how to contact them- aslo stated in thier secret Novellas. Also, several references to the TSAB are in their Novellas- more often under the name of "The Guides" or "The Navigators" and other related titles.

- The TSAB had to work with Garderobe since the Lost Logia the Bureau has detected has the reverse capability of the Otome and Mages - that is Dematerialization of anything- and thus needed Garderobe's "super advanced technology" to help track the weapon when it strikes.

- TSAB has actually 2 outposts on-planet- which wer acutally former Secret Galactic Military (GDI) Outposts. The main base called "Mirari" which is a major Research / Stockpile Facility is situated in the middle of the global ocean nicknamed "The Big Blue", protected by an eternal standing hurricane/typhoon whose eye is centered over the base. And the second, much smaller outpost (that has no name) is in Aries Territory, serving as the forward ops base and Embassy.

- Aries, being the only country with sea access (in the anime/manga so far AFAIK), has direct relations with Mirari and hence partly with the TSAB. Only the President and the Otome know of this state secret.

- Garderobe and Aries had released false info about the TSAB- stating them as a "Country that had rejoined the league of nations after being cut off by the 12 kingdoms war" - this was partially true, as the GDI that were observing the planet fled from the continent when thermo/nuclear weapons were used during the 12 Kingdoms war- prompting the appearance of the first Otomes.

- Lindy, Chrono, Yuuno and Kha (yes him) then masqueraded as "Representatives of the 'Kingdom of Mirari'" and had "Otomes" in the guises of Nanoha, Fate, Hayate and Signum (much to her objection to wear an Otome civil dress- the dress worn by Otome in formal) and proceeded to Windbloom in much celebration.

- As matters in Windbloom occur, the Asura/Athra orbits overhead and the Silvana, their Ground Support Base Ship is partolling the Sands around Windbloom State.

- A new Schwarz has appeared and with it, technologies and Slaves that can repulse Otomes but cannot withstand magic attacks. A 'meme' in this fic is that each time Nanoha fires a Divine Buster, it hits an enemy slave regardless of the situation the buster is fired. And it's new Boss, a man named "Gau" sets to take over the world by direct conflict- with Jane Smith- the new pubilc face of the Organization- appearing on TV whenever Neo-Schwarz attacks.

- Some CnC3-esque "Offensive powers" are employed by the TSAB, like the Controlled Dimensional Dislocator- which is basically a Rift Generator, the "Light of Heaven"- which is somewhat akin to the Ion Cannon but only is made up of a beam and scribes a line, "Bind Bomb" Artillery- which is the GDI EMP Artillery equivalent and ZAKU Trooper Insertion Pod- a Zone Trooper Drop pod equivalent. Another OC called C.C. is taking care of that- but the schwarz keep coming and coming.

- The Head of Mirari base is Chrono's Aunt and Lindy's sister-in-Law, another OC named Cleo Hallaoun-Restel and the head of Mirari Scientific Group is the Male Mirror Image of Windbloom's Queen. Yes, Trap meets twin girl... Mirror Moment Much?

- The Return of a character using a component/s of Project F.

- The Appearance of the Legendary GEMs - aka the transition from Anime to Manga Otome- with some twists.

- An Anti-TSAB group inbound to invade the planet.

- Some ShizNat Moments (yes you guys wanted it... and I'll try)

- And some WTF Moments for Nao.

The Situation was hopeless at the moment.

The Mages and Knights pinned down by the sheer number of Armed Slaves and their support drones.

The Otome still unable to beat the Lambda field the Armed Slaves were projecting, Nina simply trying to Dodge while Arika was in the fielded grip of Darthos's Armed Slave, 1500 feet up.

"So Little girl..." Darthos began mocking the Otome that he caught. "Feels nice isn't it?"

Arika could not answer as she was being slowly crushed by the anti-axis field, parts of her Zwei Robe starting to crack. Nanoha tried to get off a shot but another wave came in. And in the meantime at the Academy, C.C., Yuko and Irina were monitoring the battle as well.

"If this continues, Arika will lose her robe..." Yuko could only say.

Irina could only do what she could do, face the founder and pray. CC in the meantime was still looking at the battle, a small waveform on her screen taking her interest.

"This frequency..." she thought as she carefully looked, making sure that it was only Arika that was being monitored. "Could it be?"

Meanwhile, Arika was still struggling.

"Must..." she could only say as her strength continued to leave her- and down on the ground, Mashiro was in the same pain.

"Arika..."

And at that point, the robe fully cracks, major sections shattering into millions of pieces. Arika also loses conciousness at point and Darthos relases her, letting gravity seal her fate. evoking cries of alarm and concern.

"Oh Dear Otome... Otome who is lost..."

"Huh?" Arika's mentality asked at the sudden voice.

"Oh Dear Otome... Otome who is astray..."

"What is..."

"Oh Otome... Otome who is in Despair... why do you seek the sun?"

"The light?"

"Oh Otome that looks up to the blue sky, why seek the sun? Is it because of it's warmth? Or is it because it's the only thing you can see?"

"What I can see?"

As this conversation occurred, Yoko and Irina were suprised at a sudden occurence.

"Someone's trying to Connect to Arika's GEM... and it's not The Queen or the Founder!"

And as this also occured, the mages hear a sudden heartbeat.

"This is..."

"Oh Otome... what can you see when the Sun is gone?"

"I can see... stars... at night. I can see... myself..."

Arika only had 500 feet remaining when she slowly opened her eyes and reached a hand out to the dusk sky.

"Arika!"

"Arika!"

"Arika!"

"Arika!"

"Arikaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

"At Night... there is no Darkness..." Arika suddenly said. "Only the Stars the light up the Sky!!!"

The GEM suddenly took on a much deeper shade of Blue and began to display in a wholly new way.

It was 50 ft when Arika was enveloped in a pinkish flash of light- to the mages and knights, it was a somewhat familiar energy.

"Impossible that's!"

"A Linker Core Awakening..." CC could only say.

Arika softly landed on her feet and the glow was dispersed, revealing a robe that was similar to her first robe, but more ornate and in blue- in a sense, a more "complete" robe. On her hands was her element, similar to the first but more "complete".

"NO WAY!" Darthos could only gasp in horror.

Arika then poised her element for attack, and then the GEM responded in another new manner.

(a reference can be pulled if you watch the Trans-AM interface from Gundam 00- just apply that kind of display on the GEM- is also a cracky analogy of Miryoku = Trans-AM)


And with a step she was instantly gone in a pink flash, reappearing behind the Slaves that had been pestering Nanoha. And with a few sweeps of the element, they were gone- same for those minor slaves pestering the other mages/knights and Nina. Arika finally turned her attention to Darthos' who was now 800 ft above the ground. Arika suddenly flew up and aimed herself towards the armed slave.

Arika spun a bit and released 5 clones from her energy, all of them now heading towards the Armed Slave. Five seconds later, impact.

Read your ideas and it's nothing like I have mine set for. I'm going for comedy/romance/ character interaction like normal. No really deep plot or action/adventure or anything. I guess you could say my fic will be like the anime was at the start. Really funny and interesting. Whereas your seems like it was at the end, more plot heavy and meaningful.

Mai HiME had a ton of flaws but overall it was still a pretty good anime ('cept the end kind of lessens the whole thing =-=). Mai Otome on the other hand was fun but started to take itself way too seriously at the end... and I'm still trying to forget about a certain pedophillic love triangle.

I say just go for it. It's not unusual to find multiple fics using the same concepts. Each brings their own individual ideas to the fanfiction community.

Nanoha crossed her legs to try and get comfortable in the stiff chair. “What is it?”

Lindy drank from the small cup of tea in front of herself before replying to the question. “We detected a great power resonating from an non administrated planet near where one of our last missions took place. We sent a team to investigate and got very interesting results back.”

“What we found out,” Chrono continued where his mother left off. “was that this planet is inhabited by humanoids. Their technology seems to vary from place to place but the main area we are interested in seems to be quite advanced. I would place them slightly above Earth's current state.”

Nanoha's interest was perked at hearing that. “So is it Logia class items that make up for the differences in technology in different areas?”

Lindy placed her cup back onto the saucer in front of herself. “We are not yet sure if it is, but from our reports it seems that there are not only multiple power readings, but there is a training facility that teaches people to use a type of gem to fight.”

Hayate thought about what was said while Nanoha and Fate looked at each other questioningly. “So it is a military operation?”

Chrono gave her a light smile. “The data given to us implied that the people being trained there, all female, are being used as a type of 'super weapon' for high ranking officials. Kings and Queens, if you will. Their power is so great that just one of them is enough to take on a small army.”

“Compared to our mage ranks, how would they be classified?” Fate's red eyes moved to question her brother.

“We are not sure,” Lindy revealed reluctantly. “We have not been able to see them in action, as our team was recalled when they were needed to be elsewhere. We have data of everything they learned while there and you all will be given a copy to study before deploying.”

“What task are we going to agree to?” Fate pondered aloud.

Chrono waved his hand to bring up several monitors for them. “Going by the reports, this training facility also seems to be a school.” The images showed different places around a campus with several people walking around. “If what we were told is true, and a single one of these students possess the ability to become powerful enough to take on a small armed force by themselves, then the T.S.A.B would benefit greatly from this type of training. We want you three to infiltrate and observe first hand what is going on.”

Nanoha frowned lightly, making Lindy question her reaction. “Well,” She spoke nervously. “I'm not really keen on the idea of stealing people's ways of life just so the T.S.A.B can teach people ways to fight...”

The male of the room sighed lightly. “Nanoha, we are not going there to steal their ways of life.” This earned him a questioning look. “Once you three have been there long enough we will go by your reports to see if this planet is capable of making a treaty with our bureau. If so, then in exchange for their training system we will give them technology to better enrich their planet, as well as give them the rights of all others governed by us.”

“Oh!” Nanoha blushed, sinking down in her chair lightly as Lindy covered a small smile behind her cup. “I'm sorry.”

“Anyway,” Fate spoke up, using her fingers to move the monitors around to inspect them all. “This school... you need us to get in, observe, and do reports on what we find out?”

“That is correct,” Lindy told her happily. “Chrono and I both think that a mission like this would be great for your first secluded deployment.”

“Secluded...?” Nanoha laughed nervously when she was looked at by everyone in the room. “Nya haha...”

Hayate answered the question in place of the leaders across from them. “It means we will be dropped off and picked up later. We will be in charge of ourselves.”

A small nod. “That's right.” Chrono slid an envelope over to Hayate. “You will be in command. You job will be to make sure that Nanoha and Fate have an easy job going about their mission. You will be in charge of everything from getting them into the school, ensuring they are able to survive, to getting them out at any moment. You may assemble a team of no more than two helpers of your choice to ensure you are able to do this.” He got a small nod and turned his attention to Fate. “Your job will be to throughly test the training system they undergo. While there you will be forbidden to use any technology that would be considered 'suspicious' while in public. In other words, you will fight using their tactics and refrain from using your barrier jacker or Bardiche. I'm sure you are aware of the strict rules of using technology on an underdeveloped planet?”

“Yes,” The blonde nodded lightly.

“And finally, Nanoha,” Blue eyes met each other's. “You will be Fate's assistant, but your main focus will be on understanding exactly how this training goes. If brought into the bureau, then you will be the one teaching it to others. You could say that this is your first step to becoming a full fledged instructor. Learning by observing and the ability to break apart everything to better understand it is a key factor is being a teacher. This is your first real test on that ability. Fate will rely heavily on you to guide and teach her during this.”

“Yes,” This time Nanoha nodded at him seriously.

Lindy spoke up again, placing two cubes of sugar into a fresh cup of tea. “Hayate, do you know who you need as your assistants?”

The brown haired girl stared at an image of children playing with an animal that closely resembled a dog on the streets of the town by the school. “I have: I would like to request that Zafira act as my personal bodyguard during this, as well as Yuuno Scrya for his abilities in data manipulation and archiving.”

The older woman smiled over her cup. “Granted.”

Chrono stood up and got saluted by his two friends and sister when they got to their feet as well. “You will depart in two days. Please make arrangements and inform your families of your extended leave from Earth.”

“Sir!”

Going to do the otome section of chapter 1 shortly and post it for approval/suggestions as well. After that I will combine the two with the other small things and then go about only releasing the teasers for each chapter.

Nanoha's interest was perked at hearing that. “So is it Logia class items that make up for the differences in technology in different areas?”

Lindy placed her cup back onto the saucer in front of herself. “We are not yet sure if it is, but from our reports it seems that there are not only multiple power readings, but there is a training facility that teaches people to use a type of gem to fight.”

Hayate thought about what was said while Nanoha and Fate looked at each other questioningly. “So it is a military operation?”

Chrono gave her a light smile. “The data given to us implied that the people being trained there, all female, are being used as a type of 'super weapon' for high ranking officials. Kings and Queens, if you will. Their power is so great that just one of them is enough to take on a small army.”

“Compared to our mage ranks, how would they be classified?” Fate's red eyes moved to question her brother.

“We are not sure,” Lindy revealed reluctantly. “We have not been able to see them in action, as our team was recalled when they were needed to be elsewhere. We have data of everything they learned while there and you all will be given a copy to study before deploying.”

“What task are we going to agree to?” Fate pondered aloud.

Chrono waved his hand to bring up several monitors for them. “Going by the reports, this training facility also seems to be a school.” The images showed different places around a campus with several people walking around. “If what we were told is true, and a single one of these students possess the ability to become powerful enough to take on a small armed force by themselves, then the T.S.A.B would benefit greatly from this type of training. We want you three to infiltrate and observe first hand what is going on.”

Nanoha frowned lightly, making Lindy question her reaction. “Well,” She spoke nervously. “I'm not really keen on the idea of stealing people's ways of life just so the T.S.A.B can teach people ways to fight...”

The male of the room sighed lightly. “Nanoha, we are not going there to steal their ways of life.” This earned him a questioning look. “Once you three have been there long enough we will go by your reports to see if this planet is capable of making a treaty with our bureau. If so, then in exchange for their training system we will give them technology to better enrich their planet, as well as give them the rights of all others governed by us.”

“Oh!” Nanoha blushed, sinking down in her chair lightly as Lindy covered a small smile behind her cup. “I'm sorry.”

“Anyway,” Fate spoke up, using her fingers to move the monitors around to inspect them all. “This school... you need us to get in, observe, and do reports on what we find out?”

“That is correct,” Lindy told her happily. “Chrono and I both think that a mission like this would be great for your first secluded deployment.”

“Secluded...?” Nanoha laughed nervously when she was looked at by everyone in the room. “Nya haha...”

Hayate answered the question in place of the leaders across from them. “It means we will be dropped off and picked up later. We will be in charge of ourselves.”

A small nod. “That's right.” Chrono slid an envelope over to Hayate. “You will be in command. You job will be to make sure that Nanoha and Fate have an easy job going about their mission. You will be in charge of everything from getting them into the school, ensuring they are able to survive, to getting them out at any moment. You may assemble a team of no more than two helpers of your choice to ensure you are able to do this.” He got a small nod and turned his attention to Fate. “Your job will be to throughly test the training system they undergo. While there you will be forbidden to use any technology that would be considered 'suspicious' while in public. In other words, you will fight using their tactics and refrain from using your barrier jacker or Bardiche. I'm sure you are aware of the strict rules of using technology on an underdeveloped planet?”

“Yes,” The blonde nodded lightly.

“And finally, Nanoha,” Blue eyes met each other's. “You will be Fate's assistant, but your main focus will be on understanding exactly how this training goes. If brought into the bureau, then you will be the one teaching it to others. You could say that this is your first step to becoming a full fledged instructor. Learning by observing and the ability to break apart everything to better understand it is a key factor is being a teacher. This is your first real test on that ability. Fate will rely heavily on you to guide and teach her during this.”

“Yes,” This time Nanoha nodded at him seriously.

Lindy spoke up again, placing two cubes of sugar into a fresh cup of tea. “Hayate, do you know who you need as your assistants?”

The brown haired girl stared at an image of children playing with an animal that closely resembled a dog on the streets of the town by the school. “I have: I would like to request that Zafira act as my personal bodyguard during this, as well as Yuuno Scrya for his abilities in data manipulation and archiving.”

The older woman smiled over her cup. “Granted.”

Chrono stood up and got saluted by his two friends and sister when they got to their feet as well. “You will depart in two days. Please make arrangements and inform your families of your extended leave from Earth.”

“Sir!”

Going to do the otome section of chapter 1 shortly and post it for approval/suggestions as well. After that I will combine the two with the other small things and then go about only releasing the teasers for each chapter.

Hardly. Windbloom's average tech-level seems to be late 20th-century Earth at best, with a few pieces of more advanced tech inserted.
Actually, I think Earl's condition should be familiar to the Bureau. A civilization living amidst the remains of a more advanced civilization. Some of it they've figured out (or didn't lose), some of it they haven't (or lost).
And I think the term should be "covert deployment" not "secluded deployment".

"few pieces of more advanced tech" in teh late 20th century would mean it's "slightly better than Earth". We have things they don't, they have things we don't. But considering they have common place holographic projectors and nano machines that create super powered robes and also help heal and cure diseases....... I'd say they're a little ahead in that aspect.

In a little corner of this place, three mans were in a friendly game of Poker, to be more exactly; Yunno, Chrono and Zaphira (in his human form of course), they all had decided to have a little spring time that night, away from all the job in the TSAB, with a bottle of Tequila Azul ($9.99 1.4 lt) a plate of nuts and an old deck, they remained silent, looking at their hands, hidding them from each other, finnaly and without removing his sight from the cards, Chrono broke the silence
