This thread is to be used for discussing the entire episodes of Fate/Apocrypha ... your thoughts about the show, overall impressions, expectations and hopes about Blu-Ray/DVD-exclusive footage etc.

A few subjects you might want to ramble on about:

General impression of the series.
Opinions on the overall story, writing & plot devices.
Thoughts about the animation quality.
Characters/Character Design
Voice Acting
Which kind of footage (Blu-Ray/DVD-exclusive) you feel you'd really like to see.
What the show meant to you.
What could the creators/animators/writers have done better.

And so on.

The poll represents your total series rating. In other words, how you would rate all the episodes combined (1-10)? If you'd rather rate the whole series by technical/artistic merits, you can do so. An example:

Animation Quality: 1-10
Voice Actors: 1-10
Script: 1-10
Soundtrack: 1-10
Editing: 1-10
Enjoyment: 1-10
Emotional Involvement: 1-10

Average = Total Series Rating

Or a combination of the two. Or your general gut feeling.

I'm a simple man. I love seeing reinterpretations of existing legends. As well as exploiting certain lesser known parts of existing legends to create some uncommon stories. I also liked a lot of the masters. Especially Caules, strangely enough.

It's too difficult for me to break this stuff down into chunks so I'll just go with a global score.

8/10, would have gotten a better score if there were more amazing fight scenes.

Didn't like it, and would like to rage-vote 1/10 or something, but...

There is a lot of anime out there, and I certainly don't finish most series I start watching. Just the fact that I watched all of this means it is above average. This is partly because there are names like "fate" and "type-moon" attached to it, so I somehow felt consuming all this material was my duty as a fanboy. So I'll reduce two points for that, and go with 5/10.

There's two directions to go as a spin-off. The light-hearted route, which Apocrypha missed - it doesn't take enough fun liberties from the original, and there isn't nearly enough fanservice. This series is more on the serious route, which attempts to reproduce the success of the original.

The problem there is that we've been spoiled by Ufotable to the point where this level of production will always fail to impress with its aesthetics (Though I'll admit Karna was awesome). Furthermore, the large cast of characters isn't justified, and the main characters were not likeable enough. The action and the plot twists were kinda dumb, most of the fights quickly devolve into DBZ-esque bloodsports that may as well be between two Berserkers.

I have a feeling Extra will be much better...

i just finished this anime and i gotta say i dont think it deserves all the hate it got, shiro wasreally cool in this, i loved how chill he was...i am sad that my favorite charecter dint get a happy ending (jack the ripper) but over all it was good

only acouple charecters will stick with me but over all it was ok
