Mobile Suit Gundam: MS Sensen 0079 (Wii)
Yup, that's my JP Wii. =P Anyway I'm just going to repost the stuff I typed from my neogaf thread about this game. It might have flown under the radar for a lot of people, but this game needs your attention. It's suprisingly addicting. Spoiler for personal impressions:
IGN thinks the same thing, too. Twenty years and one controller revolution later, a Gundam game that you'll have to try. Personal gameplay videos: Off-screen vid of First Zeon Story mission Off-screen Yuu Kajima Ace Pilot mission 1 (epic one on one) /stage6 version/ /youtube version/ Off-screen Amuro Ray Ace Pilot mission 4 (underwater battles) /stage6 version/ /youtube version/ I'll post more vids as I make them or on request.

One of several Japanese Wii games I've been looking at. Don't really want to buy a Japanese Wii so probably going to hold out and hope they get a freeloader working with the Wii here soon.
Also the best possible way to advertise a Gundam game? Get the voice actor for Amuro to play the game on your ads. http://wii.com/jp/movies/gundam-01-jp-a/ http://wii.com/jp/movies/gundam-01-jp-b/ Something about him fighting Char in a video game amuses me to no end. |

Apparently they're still drinking buddies IRL. XD
As for the game itself, I wouldn't go out and buy a JP Wii just for it. But if you do get one, this should be in your library no doubt. Anyway, for those of you who can't watch stage6 videos, here's a couple youtube videos of the same ones posted above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y3eltyKIiHs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UX1c55z5xM

MSG: MS Sensen 0079 Wii - import this game NAO!!!
Thanks for the merge, whoever. =)
For those of you who have a JP Wii, this game is really worth buying. Lots of replay value and most importantly... simple yet awesome controls. I had low expectations for this when I bought it earlier this week, but I've been playing this to death after work ever since. Hopefully Bandai will release this game in the states or where ever else you guys may be.

You can use Char in Ace Pilot mode and versus/survival/combination mode. Gato can only be used in versus/survival/combination.
As for the US version, who knows. My japanese comprehension is limited so I'd like a good runthrough of the story mode in english myself.

Any idea how to unlock Christina in Ace pilot? I got Shiro and Yu, but cannot figure out how to get the Christina, maybe i choosed the wrong path and missed out the stage or failed to meet the conditions. Any help appreciated.

Ok got most of the game done, except for the zeon story, 2nd 2nd path. I cannot bring myself to loose, aka get a B rank in the last junction -_-. My impression, like PS2 game OYW, it is too short. Other thing that stands out, it doesn't have any space stages, all the levels are based on earth. What i like is the that fallen enemy suits sometimes drop their weapons, that you can pickup and use if you run out of ammo. Another thing is that you have to watch out that you don't run out of ammunition, since non of the weapons recharges by themselves. The supply containers is also a neat feature, you can restore your shield and ammunition, but you have to watch out since it takes time to refill. One shot kill, snipping only, is also a great idea, if you manage to shoot off a suits head via snipping you get the suit after the stage. Overall i really enjoyed this game, it is probably one of the better gundam titles. The variety of the stages, protect vessels or take out enemy units and defences is ok, so it doesn't get boring. The game itself however does feel unpolished and rushed out, but it is still solid. I hope we will see some sort of sequel to theis game, i really liked it. |

Agree with your post on all points. It's a great game in all rights and the fast paced action and controls really work. I would want them to release a sequel as it's selling rather well in Japan for a 3rd party game on the Wii. Just make it look like a nicer version of Ace Pilot GC and have better hit detection and I'll be good to go.
As for getting a B on the second branch, just let your teammates have awesome suits and have them do all the work. Your best score is still registered even though it shows a lower rank for that particular run-through. You can't get GM Sniper II Custom SP if you don't go that way. XD
