Considering the time, i don't think most female cast will continue (want a 37 years old Cassandra or 46 years old Taki? :x), Siegfried, Nightmare and Sophitia's son seems to appear.
Maybe Bango too? (Rock's son)

I'm putting money on Siegfried having a beard or at least a 5-o'clock shadow. Would most of the women be replaced? I mean Tira, Talim and Amy have a good chance at staying. Taki may have some apprentice or it might just be a new ninja girl altogether. My money is on Kilik and Xianghua's child to be in the game.

lol.. Ivy won't age... she's get some bullshit reason like Nina in tekken... Taki will be possesed by breast demons and stay that age... and new hot girls will come in while the young ones in IV like Talim (11) and Tira (13) will be hot adults now.... Cassandra can be one hot 37 year old milf...

Glad SC franchise is back and still running after the letdown 4th installment.

Thought the fifth installment would take place into future as the final chapter where Zsalmel is only immortal and everything would be end of the world stages.

Don't mind about the older characters unless they are final bosses and play a bigger role into the franchise.

17 years is a pretty big leap though. Probably most of the characters are gonna have to be replaced. Heck the replacement for Siegfried has already been confirmed to be Patroklos.

The other character(the left one) is Sophitia's son.
If some of the other character return, i can imagine Mitsurugi who may return because no matter how old Mitsurugi will be, it won't change him and he could play the role of a Heihachi from Tekken

It seems there are two character models confirmed, the one on the left seems to be Patroclus, the guy on the right seems to be.... siegfreid? Not entirely sure. But Patroclus seems to be using the same weapon set of Sophitia, so it could be a hint to her exclusion in the game.

That would've been neat, seems like they're going for speed instead of power though.

On the subject of Patroclus, I wonder if his sister Pyrrha will also be in the game. Assuming they want to get rid of the over the hill Cassandra and have Pyrrha replace her.

The possible characters I see returning are the non-human ones (Nightmare, Cervantes, Astaroth) and the younger characters (Talim, Amy, Yun-seong).

If the older characters are still able to fight in their senior years then then they're more than welcome to come back, but it would make sense that their run would be over.

If I had to make a guess I'd say Siegfried's since he was the one who fought Nightmare and Soul Edge in the canon plotline and is considered by most to be the main character. That's just my guess though.

^No he was just put on ice. Very possible for him to come back especially if the conflict revolves around soul edge and soul calibur again.

Come to think of it he ended up being put on ice in Taki's ending too. Hmm....
