Robot People! :d

Anyone know any good animes that have a sort of integration with humans and robots? doesnt have to be like chobits, but not mecha either... im not too picky with the genres, but i would like it to be a bit interesting.

I just watched the first season of Big O and it's a pretty nice show. I like Dorothy who is the most main character besides Roger. She's an android and is really well done imo.

I assume you've seen Hand Maid May since you are a Chobits fan...

There's Gunnm which wasn't a bad anime, but doesn't really do the manga justice.

Others...
Mahoromatic
Boku no Marie
Saber Marionette J
To Heart (a little)
Key the Metal Idol

I think that what you are looking for is Kurogane Communication. 24 episodes of 12 minutes each.

If you don't mind some older stuff (I'm talking 13 years), check out Battle Angel Alita. Only an hour altogether, two episodes, so it could be considered just a movie. I'm still new to anime, but I think this old thing would be called Cyberpunk?

I liked it anyway. :]

If you are searching for animes about cyborgs (I understand that when you say "integration with humans and robots") then Ghost in the Shell is a must see. I think that the first movie is the the best I´ve seen (either real movies or anime) talking about the dilemmas of being a cyborg (maybe at the level of Blade Runner). It takes quite influence from the cyberpunk, from books like Neuromancer... The Ghost in the Shell S.A.C series (1st season and 2nd GIG) are really interesting too.
Don´t think they only have philosophical content, they´ve got lots of action too.

The second movie was quite dissapointing for me.

Hmmm, its a mecha and its old but I think you should check out Patlabor. Its not about the mechs its about the pilots and its a really great anime that doesn't get enough recognition. The senario is also believable enought that the idea of mechs in the near future doesn't appear absurd. We're not talking gundam stuff here, theres no space travel, no giant mech battles instead mechs or labors as they are called are used almost esclusively for constuction purposes. The show centers around a police force equiped with labors to take care of crimes with labors such as a operator getting drunk and breaking shit with his labor. wow, i've kinda rambled, but seriously go check out patlabor. You can get it on netflix or on ebay because there are a lot of disks of it.

My favorite robot-y anime has to be Eureka 7. After the first few episodes I thought "there's nothing special about this", but it's quite good if you stick with it.

Hmm ive seen most the suggestions, especially kurumi (an all time favorite) ill look up on patlabor since you seem so fond of it mit

if theres still anything we are missing id like to know about it, no matter how small it is, because i find that some of the most unknown series can sometimes be the best
