It seems 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) may be getting an anime as well. A domain site (kimetsu.com) was registered recently.

Plot Summary

Since ancient times, rumors have abounded of man-eating demons lurking in the woods. Because of this, the local townsfolk never venture outside at night. Legend has it that a demon slayer also roams the night, hunting down these bloodthirsty demons. For young Tanjirou, these rumors will soon to become his harsh reality...

Ever since the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken it upon himself to support his family. Although their lives may be hardened by tragedy, they've found happiness. But that ephemeral warmth is shattered one day when Tanjirou finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. To his surprise, however, Nezuko still shows signs of human emotion and thought...

Thus begins Tanjirou's quest to fight demons and turn his sister human again.

I'm glad ufotable is going with the more traditional animation and straying away from their usual aesthetics. Definitely love all the little details so I'm hoping they're gonna do justice to them like the clothes patterns and all in animation.

Saw the first episode on TV today.

Spoiler:

Interesting start, it introduced protagonist Tanjirou along with the fictional setting of their world. The animation quality looks great and it didn't take long for him to encounter a bloody scene in the first episode.

The catch is that Nezuko didn't die and is instead shown as a demon. In general, I think the episode had a dark sort of emotional mood.

On most parts, I think the episode was executed well. Even felt the music is consistent. I want more!

Edit: after seeing it again in higher quality, it has the best soundtrack of any Spring premieres imo.

First episode was great to watch. Hope it can keep that quality up for the coming episodes. I liked how we didn't saw or know who killed Tanjiro's entire's family and made Nezuko a demon with his/her blood.

That's about as good of an adaption as one could've expected.

From an anime only perspective though, I have to say that was some very heavy handed exposition. Personally think it could've done with a bit more fleshing out the way Blue Exorcist started off. That would've required anime original content however.

The series is very nice and remind me a lot of golden kamuy and dororo, seems would be a very interesting one

That was a bad day...you can say their neighboor save him to die with the family but the poor Nezuko got killed and become a demon.

Seems the Demon Hunter got a very personal story with a demon too.

The ED was like the proof of concept...seems this will be interesting.

So far this is off to a great start. Ufotable and Kajiura seem like it really will be the combo I was hoping it would be.
