One Piece - Chapter 1071 [manga]

Well, the time has come for the year's last chapter! Credit goes to AP's Redon and co. for the info:

-Chapter title is "A Hero Appears". Splash is a color page.

-We finally see where the original Kuma warped to.... the Red Line's Red Port. It appears he's making a beeline straight for Mariejois! Back at Egghead, CP0 made good on their word and blocked all ports and other possible exits from the island. However, Stussy notes that Lucci seems reluctant to obey the marines' orders, as he still wants a piece of Luffy. In fact, the agent proves her right, saying that he refuses to acknowledge the rubber man as an emperor....!!!

-In the lab, Vegapunk and his clones are packed and ready to go. Edison notes there's one more person on the island who can help them out, but is reluctant to contact him since that would risk him becoming a fugitive, as well.... but the original Punk calls him anyway. The mystery contact is willing to help, saying he's been waiting for Vegapunk's order. Suddenly, the Frontier Dome vanishes, confusing the Punk clones and CP0 alike! The agents investigate, and find the Sunny docked near the lab entrance. Kaku decides to destroy the ship, but his attack gets blocked by Zoro, who's most annoyed that his nap was interrupted!

-While the two are fighting, Luffy's group meets up with the rest of the crew. However, they notice Bonney and the original Vegapunk are missing. That's because the enraged Bonney is busy chasing the good doctor around the lab! He tries to explain to her that he can't turn her father back to normal, and for good reason....

-Suddenly, we cut to Kid's crew! Their next destination is revealed to be none other than.... Elbaf! Lastly, we cut to the G14 marine base. VA Doll argues with someone on the den den mushi, saying she can't spare any more battleships since they're needed for Kizaru's fleet to Egghead. We find out that she's been arguing with none other than.... GARP! He just arrived at the base, and tells Helmeppo and Hibari to join him in rescuing Coby from the Blackbeard Pirates....!!!!

Now then, this year the Wano Country Saga finally ended,
and while the mangaÂ’s been plenty busy, Film RED also
became a massive box office hit, so itÂ’s been one mind-blowing
year. All One Piece staff members were cheering of joy.

Uta-chan’s upcoming “red and white” tv tour will be airing for
the following days Only as well, so I hope you can enjoy it.
Also, the trading card game actually turned out to be pretty
fun. Right before this, I asked my editors “gimme the rare
cards” but they told me “that’s a desire not even the likes
of us can be granted access to”… what the hell?!!

This long story has already been going on for over 25 years,
and recently IÂ’ve noticed that more and more younger readers
are getting into it, which makes me happy. I know IÂ’ve been
saying Final Saga this and Final Saga that, but itÂ’s not gonna
end as quickly as IÂ’m making it sound, so IÂ’d recommend not
stressing over it and just reading comfortably.

Next year, the game thatÂ’s been 6 years in development,
One Piece Odyssey, will finally release! And, the One Piece
Hollywood Live Action is making progress. For now we have
the base footage of Season 1. So much went on behind the
scenes, but if IÂ’m being honest, the most worried person
in the world that this will turn out good is me LOLÂ… but it
actually looks amazing!!!

And finally, for the future of the One Piece manga, no way!!
That person and that person are gonna be fighting?!
ThatÂ’s the type of story you can expect! If I were to give
it a title, I’d call it a “FREE FOR ALL BATTLE ROYALE”!!
I hope no one dies~!!

Given the spoilers, it's good that we have news of Kid, and a Zoro vs. Kaku, and Kuma arrived on the island, I suppose that Oda is going to try to recreate a situation similar to the one that happened in Sabaody 2 years ago, only this time they will surely be the Mugiwara who emerge victorious, let's wait for more spoilers.

Chapter's out in shit quality. Looks we have a traitor on our hands. Thankfully, only CP0 managed to get above the dome before they got the system up and running again, I almost feel sorry for them.

Garp attempting to rescue Coby isn't too surprising, I guess. Very curious to see how BB will deal with a pure hakiman like him.

Spoilers updated, so the same goes for the OP! So, it turns out Kuma (original) wasn't headed for Egghead, after all.... maybe he intends to confront the elders/Imu if he's returning to Mariejois?

Looks like that's the case here, yeah. Don't see Kid's crew having much reason for Kid's crew to be at Elbaf, otherwise. They strike me as the types who'd be bored by history books, heh. But on the other hand, we do know for a fact that Blackbeard has an interest in history, and it's not hard to imagine who his next targets will be after tangling with Law....

Some of us were hoping Elbaf would be the next arc and the fact that the Kid pirates would get there first is bound to leave a bad taste in our mouths (not necessarily including me of course).

It's pretty much a suicide mission. I personally think he could beat Blackbeard if it was 1 vs 1, but it obviously won't be.

Seen the chapter, all the Vegapunk met, the real Kuma arrived near the Red Line (although why?), Kid will surely reach the giants, Bonney is chasing the real Vegapunk and Garp wants to save Coby from Kurohige (I personally don't think so that Garp dies without meeting Luffy at least once more), to wait for the next chapter.

So does anyone here think Egghead will last 20 or 30 chapters after what just happened in Chapter 1071? I can't really see how this will go on for longer without feeling redundant.

One Piece arcs have been redundant for ages. I'd love nothing more than for them to make a quick escape, but with Kizaru coming here with tons of warships I doubt that will happen.

The mystery ally Vegapunk asked for help is my last hope. I'm thinking it's someone we know or Oda would have just shown them.

Kinda unfortunate that trying to bypass Lucci, Kizaru, and dozens of Marine ships will be a huge pain now just when I was starting to enjoy seeing the futuristic sights of Egghead. I guess we've seen all there is to see now that more crap is starting to hit the fan. I suppose if Vegapunk recognizes the ability of his ally that much, then I imagine they'd take care of them soon enough.

Then again, maybe that would make the rest of Egghead more awkward since a climax-like scene would be happening in the middle by then. Hmm...

I suppose maybe Vegapunk's secret ally is someone of a certain species or someone the Government would easily blacklist from society, like someone Void-related? Can't think of a better fitting description.
