After I finished watching episode 6 and see the scene that Yin held Hei's hand.

I guess maybe Yin's body is Hei's sister body and what Hei find is his sister mind, memories or something like that.

-Carmine explains to him that she wasn't on their pals and doesn't know anything about "Amber-tachi", and that she can't remember anything from those days. If I understood it correctly when she regained consciousness she had already crossed the ocean to Europe. Since then she had never stepped out into the street

ep 6 ~

waaa poor Carmine wtf is up with november eliminating her >.< even if it was somewat expected that she is going to die they way it was done was heart breaking...but oh well...we get to see her smile at least ~ and she wasnt as 2D as i thought (dam character development getting me attached >.<)

hei flipped but he did a pretty crap job at fighting...i would have expected him to go psycho but instead he choose to keep his cool...*sigh* but what i really love about this ep was the other side to hei...his caring side has a unique charm

ep 7 is going to be one hell of a mood change :3

Man, this series doesn't pull any punches when it comes to the death toll of relatively significant characters. I'm not sure whether I can consider that as awesome or not, but it's quite heavy-handed in a good way.

I'm at least relieved that there's good 'ol Chief Misaki to enhance my viewing pleasure of this show.

By the way, I think I might have missed something, but something isn't exactly clear to me yet. Anyone know where the allegiances of Hei's team lie?

I know that DtB is essentially about serial murderers, but the fatality rate is still sobering. Havoc went straight from a miserable life to Contractor Hell :S

@kujoe: Hei-tachi work for a mysterious Brazilian organization, so that's where their allegiances are. For all intents and purposes, you could consider them undercover secret agents working in a semi-hostile environment.

So episode 6 comes with quite a lot of revelations

so Hei was already the "black death" and was completely cold-blooded and unemotional before he became a Contractor, but after he supposedly got his Contract, he becomes full of emotions and doesn't need to make any payment. Maybe his payment is to have emotions?

I think Misaki explained that November killed Havoc because they are afraid of her power so much. They want to kill her before she gets back her power, else they'll be pulverized easily. The sad thing is that Havoc has actually already regained her power but refused to use it to kill any more

Havoc can use her power to smash the MI-6 in this episode. Her vaccuum power is so terrifying and drinking children blood for payment must be really cool.

Is is just me or that detective in the preview looks like Lupin the 3rd?

A Brazilian organization? With characters such as Hei, Yin and Mao, I assumed that they were working for a Chinese one.

I don't think the organization Hei and co. are working for are necessarily Brazilian, being situated in Brazil/South America. The group just happens to be stationed there. Just my two cents.

They are working for something called simply Organization (or Syndicate in the fansubs). According to some staff interviews, Organization hails from Brazil.

BTW, Hei's nationality is yet undetermined. His alias is that he's from China and I assume that he belongs to the Mongoloid race to pass for a Chinese (though, who knows?), it's yet unknown if he really is Chinese. The creators of the show are pointedly vague on this subject.

I've really enjoyed this arc. Not least Hei being truly mean and badass. I kind of liked Carmine. Shame.

I've love seeing Brits in anime; inaccuracies and stereotypes are often a great source of amusement though DtB avoided the obvious, though July did look like he'd shine your boots for a farthing. I must admit seeing April swigging Guinness was hilarious. Not as great as seeing the freaking MI5 building at the end of ep 6! I walk passed there every day (over the Vauxhall bridge), on my way to work, lol. It's a pretty accurate rendition too

I have to admit that the Brazil thing is unintentionally funny to me at the moment, having only recently completed Shadow Hearts: From the New World, which features a Ninja from the... uh, Brazilian ninja village called Brazeel.

Ah, and I'm glad, also, that we weren't the only ones to find at least a passing resemblence to Storm; we even had a Havoc, though no energy powers, sadly.

Huang is always rude with Hei. He under estimate him all the time, I kind of have the feeling that Huang is a bad guy a he is against Hei a Yin (i also watch an image in the official site of Hei embracing Yin, like protecting her for something).

I think that yes, the emotions or guilt feeling is the retribution of Hei, but then, what kind of monster he used to be before becoming contractor? that is making me crazy

Yeah, I have a hard time imagining I could get along with him. He always has something bad to say.

huang is certainly a realist, or maybe a pessimist, but i'm not really sure where the "bad guy" vibes come from. he goes by the book as a normal operating member of the organization, and hei runs completely counter to that notion by going off on his own, killing or not killing people, following his own agenda which only mostly coincides with that of the organization. from huang's own perspective, he has every reason to be angry with hei, and considering his age, it's not surprising that he has a low opinion of contractors, who as a whole don't seem to have been around that long. he's no saint, that's for sure, and acts according to rules and prejudices, but he's not "evil" or a typical "bad guy." he may cross hei in a more dramatic fashion later on, but it won't be a black-and-white encounter.
