To me I am patiently waiting for the arrival of the 60's episodes, because the following fight which happens between the seventh and eighth volumes of the manga would be taking at that time.

I cannot spoil much, but what I can say that is when Lenalee will be shining in all her Exorcist glory.

I really love how the manga at that time built her character.

In order to make her into a formidable and serious fighter with clear motivations.

A serious female asset within the context a shounen anime, playing a major character role in the main cast.

The other example of a strong female character in shounen is Genkai from Yu Yu Hakusho, although she becomes a regular character in the latter story arcs.

Will now be looking forward to things. It's tough seeing Lenalee so depressed and sad. Her going out there to kick someone's ass will be a nice thing to see. Of course it's all been tough on her but just think that will be nice to see.

Personally next week promises to be another important episode. Seeing Allen deal with his loss that is so massive. He wants to save people and do everything he can to help. With his arm and innocence gone how will he manage? Sure his eye is still useful and should still work, but he won't be able to attack anything himself.

Ok. A pleasant surprise is that both Shinsen and Black-Order fansubs have now released their subs for episode 57. Order made an impressive recovery on catching up with the current episodes in the past week.

Back on topic, I don't need to make comparison between this episodes to its chapter counterparts for the manga. Everything went exactly with few minor extensions.

First of all, I want to comment that since the show went back in track with the manga storyline we have been astonished and surprised with the quality for both the animation and the darker tone that the series is starting to take off. The previous two episodes were simply extraordinary, but still D.Gray-man lacks the needed momentum to deliver memorable and legendary episodes that surely will arrive when the show reaches its climax, assuming that there won't be fillers after episode 64 airs.
However, the TV series shows promise that its strength is growing as the protagonists are getting fleshed out by portraying how weak and frail they are at the midst of the bloody war that they have vowed to fight on, and the darkness that looms in their hearts lurking at any moment to drag them into hopelessness.

Miranda, Miranda. Lucky woman Miranda. She's made at last her comeback, and I feel they made justice to her. She was a captivating character since the Rewinding Town arc but was left mostly underrated and forgotten when the anime turned into anime-original arcs.

It's good to see her again, and this time as a somewhat capable exorcist. Her Innocence activation might be classified as a defensive nature, allowing recovery by disphasing any objects that is encircled within her innocence from real time.

It is an interesting ability because it is of a more manipulative nature that can alter the spatial time and not like the conventional types of innocences seen frequently that incline toward more offensive natures and attacks.

Seriously, people I burst laughing out when she tripped and attempting to commit suicide by throwing herself out into the open sea. She might change much of her appearance and attitude but her core personality, fortunately, remains the same.

It was a needed laugh with all the sorrow that I witnessed on Lenalee experiencing after hearing from Allen's loss of Innocence.

Spoiler for The dream and the moons:

This was so far the best scene in the episode. It was kind of fascinating watching Allen as a doodle design walking in the void world of the snowfall with the white moon superimposed in the sky.

That scene could either have come from the mind of H.P. Lovercraft or Tim Burton.

The dream sequence fullfilled two spoiler that were featured in previous openings:
1. The first opening displayed what looks like a pond reflecting the ruins of what might be the world with Lenalee in it crying.

2. The second opening casted a shot of Allen in the void world of the eternal snowfall walking with the creepy moon hanging over him.

My interpretation of the dream is that it hints or establishes that there's more than just relationship going on between Lenalee and Allen. I tend to think more as a comunion or affinity. The manga shed a little more parallels between those two, but still Katsura Hoshino has not yet delved what does the dream would turn out to be.

Only thing I am theorizing is that it may the shadow of a scenario that could happen if Allen loses her way, and that is the apocalypse meaning the death of all the people he has met and promised to protect but overall leaving behind Lenalee in a state of deep sorrow and suffering.

The moon reflected on the water makes reference to an illusion which cannot be grasped no matter how much one struggles.
In the case of Lenalee and Allen's shared prophetic dream it might allude that at some point in the far future their paths are goint to split and both won't be reaching to the other ever again. My theory has more evidence to be founded on due to the sinister shadow that grabbed Allen from beneath the freezing pond and warned him that he could not go where Lenalee was.

To make things even murkier and darker, if you paid close attention to the face, he was all gray-skinned just like the Noah in their black forms and had the same eyes like Tykki did when he goes berserk.
This contact hints that there's more on Allen but which he's not awared of.

Spoiler for Bookman:

This arc couldn't have opened any better, because we at last were given an inside information about Bookmen.

According to Bookman, they are just observers who have been since the start of human civilization recording history written by the passage of wars.

Bookman was cautious to remind Lavi that they must not allow their feelings and passion to undermine their judgment and must remain with a neutral mindset in order to do their jobs. They are on the side of the Order by chance, because Bookman has his eyes set on what will Allen Walker do, as he was prophesied by Hevlaska to be the "destroyer of time" who'll bring the fall of the Millenial Earl.

I can infer from Lavi that he despises to be appointed as the future bookman. Bookmen most likely are like "men in black" living in the shadows of the modern world with no other contact with normal people.
I think that Lavi got hurt the most because as a Bookman he cannot get attach with the members of the Order and form an everlasting partnership with them.

But war is war. Although it was a hard decision, Lavi was right that Allen must be left behind because he lost his innocence to the Noah and no longer held the qualifications to continue on being an Exorcist.

Their mission is to find and contact General Cross, and they'll need to incur on sacrifices so as to reach that goal for the sake of winning the ghastly war; time is not a leisure that can be spent carelessly.

But this would be a hard blow for Lenalee to recover from due that she always puts the lives of her comrades before hers and felt responsible for not returning to the battlefield to assist Allen, but what she could had done?
The outcome would not had been any different has she arrived in time to help save Suman, since Tykki was there monitoring the disaster he made.

Likely she would had been killed by Tykki and getting her innocence destroyed as well, that which would had been a devastating blow for Allen to witness since he barely was able to stay sane as he bore witness to Suman's sudden murder.

So Allen is back to a normal human being.

It probaly wasnt the way i wanted everyone to find out about Allen
but it certainly does make them understand how Allen felt when he was tortued.

hahaha Trust Miranda to be the character to lighten up the episode a bit.
No greetings from Lenalee to Miranda really shows how depressed she is,
which only makes her love stronger for Allen when she sees him

I swear D.Gray-man can't get any better than it already is but reading the other manga readers comments it sound like it will be alot better!
This is already rated 10 on my anime list.

Gotta be grateful for Miranda. Able to bring a bit of humor into a pretty bleak situation. Plus Lavi getting some salt water into his wounds and then getting beaten to a pulp by Panda. Maybe can't offset all that's happened but does a nice job making you smile.

All everyone knows are the dark facts. Seeing Suman die and what happened to Allen. Not certain from what Won said whether he's alive or whether they are simply holding onto his corpse. At least thanks to Bookman there is some hope for Allen being alright.

It was the best thing for Allen to meet up with Tyki alone. Anyone else there would've been taken out anyways and would've added to the situation. This guy could take out teams of exorcists so Lenalee wouldn't have mattered. Course that realization doesn't make things suddenly easier to handle.

lenali being depressed about not being able to save allen is understandable really...even with the fact that she may just be adding to the casualty list if she was there at the time. it would be selfish (and impossible) for lenali to think that it was a good thing that she wasnt there seen as she would have die with allen as well seen as she would rather die along with him that have the feeling that she has just abandoned an important friend.
lavi is right aswell - the fact that she couldnt have done anything given the situation it just isnt her fault at all. but perhaps lavi didnt comperhend how sensitive lenali is towards these types of matter.

Yeah, what made it worst was that even that she couldn't do anything, she lost a close friend which probaly adds upto why shes so depressed.

It is most probable that Lenalee grew up to realize to put the life of her comrades before hers when she saw what the scientists did to that Togaochi boy after she became an Exorcist.
I want to think that she actually made contact with that boy and became friends, since Lenalee still could not adapt herself to live in the Order at that time due that she was literally torn apart from Komui, and henceforth, the boy provided her with a much needed companionship, someone whom she could confide her fears, and the feeling that she wasn't alone.

The fact that she just witnessed helplessly how the boy was experimented upon and becoming a Fallen One paid a heavy toll for Lenalee at that time since she practically could not do anything for her friend but just standing there as he agonized with the pain.
I want to think as well that from that incident Lenalee becomes very sensitive on the matter to be wary of her comrades' lives and be of any help without becoming a burden to assist them as possible in the battlefield. She just wishes not any other comrade dear to her to die without she doing anything to prevent that scenario.

To Kenta: The anime returns back to the main storyline on episode 51.

To Macnown: You just have to wait patiently for the next episode, as it's going to explain why Allen survived in spite of that Tykki opened up a hole in his heart. I have read all of the manga, therefore, I know what happened.

That's an interesting analysis of the situation. The way I see the situation portrayed isn't much different from what you saw but I do not think it is so much that they will not need each otherr and more that they cannot have each other there. In both dreams (of Allen and Lenalee) Allen is dead. The other reason I see that is because of how the story has been constructed so far. It has slowly been making both of them face off against different, difficult, situations without the ability to have the aid of one another. But as soon as the trial is completed they are reunited and you see them realize what it was they were doing and why they were doing it. I think the best example is the chapter when Allen returns to Lenalee with Crowned Clown. She welcomes him back, something that touches him deeply. His return to her does the same, restoring her drive.

This may also have something to do with the dual Heart that we've noticed. I would not be too surprised if their relationship did not stretch too even their innocence. Somehow, I see Crowned Clown as the guardian to the Heart. Allen to Lenalee. This image too comes from when Allen returns with Crowned Clown.

I don't think Lenalee's problem is feeling responsible about not returning. She did not fall apart when Suman died, she fell apart when Allen 'died'. You see her fall into denial at his blood stain on the grass and then later just regress into her shell when she is told that Allen can no longer go with them. Which could just as easily mean that he is dead.

Had she gone, she could have run away with Allen. Allen was completely incapacitated after the fight with Suman's innocence. She is probably depressed over that as well, she could have saved Allen... but she could not.

Man watching Lenalee hurt. i agree with the above post her denial started when she thought Allen was dead (which she still does). bookman beat the shit out of Lavi for making Lenalee cry it looked like it hurt too. The concern Lenalee has for Allen in my opinion goes beyond that of a friend. The concern she showed for Suman was different than that of Allen its pretty obvious if you watch.

Seeing Miranda come back was pretty cool and could that uniform be any tighter she was pretty cute till she tried to fucking drown her self and the talked about not sleeping for 10 days i see she is as manic as ever. However finally being able to see what form her innocence took was nice and i approve of it.

So im sure no one is surprised Allen is alive and next week seems like we get to see his breakdown and depression start from the loss of his innocence. Allen's dream was interesting but im still thinking on it before i give my own theory on it what it could possibly mean
