This is a crackish idea I have thought up. It is not particularly well written but Aaron008R persuaded me that you guys should have a look.

It was a cold, snowy day in the hills above Uminari city, but for the newly christened Reinforce, the sensation of such cold temperatures felt wonderful to her. Experiencing the world only when all the pages of the Book of Darkness was filled and then forced to destroy till her master got fully consumed by her, she was extremely grateful to her mistress and her friends to allow her to see a world unmarred by destruction.

As much as she would like to continue to live in this world, she knew in her heart that such peace was not for her and beyond the shadow of a doubt, the corrupted defense program will be reconstructed soon within her. Coming to a decision, she asked the young heroines to help uninstall her and to keep it a secret from her beloved mistress.

While they are reluctant to do it, they finally agreed to help after she informed them of the danger she represented. As for not telling Hayate, she admitted that she cannot bear to see her mistress in tears again and that its better for her to go away quietly.

Still, plans did not go as smoothly as she hoped as Hayate managed to find out and tried to stop her. It was hard for her to disobey a direct command from Hayate but her duty was clear. It is her job to protect and eliminate dangers to her mistress even from herself. It took alot of will power to keep her face impassive and not cry when her mistress did in order to spare Hayate further heartache.

Before she departs, she asked a boon from Hayate. "Mistress Hayate" she began, "I have one request. When I vanish, I will leave behind a small powerless fragment of my current self. If its all right with you, do not give my name to that small fragment but to the new container that will hold your magic in the future."

"Reinforce..." Hayate cried as tears slowly flow from her blue eyes.

Saying her last goodbyes to everyone, Reinforce completes the last portion of the ritual that will finally ensure that she will no longer endanger her mistress. As she prepares to leave the small fragment of herself to Hayate, she encountered a force that was gathering all her scattered fragments.

Powerless to stop it, she tried to send her consciousness back to the small fragment that was falling down back towards earth. But it was too late, it was too far and the force grabbing her was just too strong. As she fades, her last thought was of her beloved mistress Hayate.

"Did you managed to capture all the fragments?" demanded a voice, full of anticipation.

"All except one, do you want to go after it?" a second voice inquired.

"No. Its too dangerous. the longer we stay here, the more likely the TSAB is going to detect us." replied the first. "Lady Winter's spell program will cloak us but its not going to last much longer. Take us out of the atmosphere and get ready to warp out once we get to the exit point."

"Noted. Are you going to need help securing the fragments?" asked the second voice again.

"Not particularly." Pausing in thought for a second, the first continued. "Keep an eye on the sensors, if that warship detects us, we need to run for it."

"I don't need you to teach me how to do my job. You go do yours and I'll do mine. I'll inform you when we warp out" the second snap in irritation.

It was a tense couple of minutes as they hope against hope that they will escape with their precious cargo. Fortunately for them, either the gods are smiling upon them or that the Lady Winter's spell program was better than they thought and they warped away from Earth to a destination known only to them, without the Asura even knowing it was there.

"My Lord, as instructed, we have traveled to the 97th Non Administrated world to the city of Uminari. However we were unable to capture the Book of Darkness as commanded. As there were too many hostiles in the area as well as a TSAB warship in the area to even attempt capture, we have aborted the mission and reverted to standing orders 23-A."

As they reported that fact, their lord's expression did not change, causing the pair to fear for their lives. Much to their relief, the Lord simply nodded at them for following standard procedure which was to abort and exit the scene without alerting anyone else to their presence.

"Good. At least you two are intelligent enough to know when to abort when the situation calls for it. I will want an in depth report later but for now, you are dismissed."

As the Lord dismissed them, the first speaker spoke up. "My Lord, we have another issue to report."

"Oh?" Raising an eyebrow at the pair, he queried them further. "Explain."

"My Lord," continued the second, " When we were about to leave the planet, we detected a powerful magical ritual taking place and that our target was involved. We delayed our departure and observed the proceedings. We cannot tell what they were doing but a short while later, one of the figures, the Unison device, disappeared into multiple particles."

"WHAT?! They destroyed it?!"

"We're very sorry my lord. We did however, managed to capture all of the fragments except for one as it was being destroyed. After securing the fragments, we returned to base." replied the first speaker, nervously.

Silently, the Lady Winter, a woman with light lavender colored hair, stepped forward from beside the Lord to examine the cases containing the fragments. After examining them for a few moments, she nodded slightly at the Lord. Breaking out in laughter, he smiled at the pair. "You two, have no idea what you have done have you? Never mind, suffice to know, you have done very well indeed. Bring the fragments to the laboratories and report to your commander."

"Yes, my Lord." Bowing, they retrieved the cases and left the room, leaving their Lord alone with the two silent women at his side.

Once the pair are gone, the chestnut colored hair woman in the room spoke up. "Does that mean....?"

"Yes" confirmed the Lord. "Those two have managed to complete their mission. Winter, how long will it take you and your team to reconstruct the Unison device and the assorted programs?"

Mentally calculating, Winter replied, "I will require 92968128 seconds to complete the task."

Rolling his eyes at her ever precise answer, he asked, "About 3 years?"

"Yes."

"Very well. And as for you," pointing to Chestnut again, "you know what to do."

"I do" and with this, both women left to their respective duties.

Reviewing her memories, she was startled to find herself still alive and as she tried to move, she also discovered that she was under heavy restrains on a star shaped table, being drain of almost all her mana as well as having multiple Anti Magi-link Fields centered upon her. Hearing foot steps, she tried to turn her head but found that even that simple movement was denied her.

"You are active," stated the lavender hair woman as she step into view.

"Why am I here? Did you reconstruct me? Do not know the danger I represent? You have to destroy me before the darkness within me fully regenerates." cried out Reinforce frantically.

Ignoring her, Winter spoke. "Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with extraction once the scans are completed."

She could do nothing but scream as the extraction process began. Pleading for them to destroy her did nothing at all as she was summary ignored. After the extraction, she was left alone to her thoughts. While others eventually came to study her, Reinforce did not see the lavender hair woman again and then it happened. She felt the corrupted defense program starting to regenerate within her again. Warning the people that they have to destroy her, she then caught sight of the lavender hair woman again. Knowing that she was the one in charge, again Reinforce pleaded for her destruction but the next few words shattered her hope.

"Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with extraction once the scans are completed."

This became a common occurrence for the next few years. The corrupt defense program regenerates, they extract it, other people come to study her afterwards until the corrupt defense program regenerates again, repeating the cycle. After the first year, she no longer pleads for destruction, knowing that it was useless. She just retreats into herself, not even screaming during the extraction process anymore.

Around six years after her reactivation, her routine was changed when she heard Lady Winter, which was what the rest refer to her, gave a different order then usual. "Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with total extraction once the scans are completed. Erase all protocols and hidden programs within the Unison device. Start Level 7 deep scan and place this device in storage with current safety measures in place once confirmation of total eradication of the corrupt defense program."

At this pronouncement, along with the bits and pieces of conversations she overheard before, Reinforce could only stare. 'Does this mean they have completed it? No I must do something.'

"You are all making a terrible mistake. Please, for the sake of all, destroy this weapon you have created."

But as usual, she was ignored by all. As if to mock her further, the last bit she heard as she was being moved to storage filled her with despair. "All personal are report to factory 5. Mass production of Project Vi......"

'Mass production?' It was worse then she thought. She struggled futility against her restrains but they were just too secure to even allow her to move an inch. And when sound of the doors closing fade away, so do all her hopes.

She tried constantly but all her efforts were at vain. No matter how much she tried, like her attempts over those long six years and over most of this one, she failed. And she knew it was all her fault.

'I have fail you, my beloved mistress. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I should have obeyed you. I'm so sorry.' were her thoughts as she weeps silently.

'Please, if anyone can hear me, pass this message to the Mistress of the Night Sky. Warn her of the danger that is coming. I beg of you. Tell her. TELL HER!!'

And she suddenly sits up, her head full of sweat and her heart beating rapidly. Quietly going to the bathroom to wash up, she fully open her eyes in shock as a figure with white hair and red eyes stared back at her from the mirror. Gasping, she blinked and her normal reflection was back.

"Rein?" muttered Hayate sleepily, "What are you doing up so late?"

"Nothing Hayate-chan," called back Reinforce Zwei. "Just a bad dream."

"I'm going make you stop eating supper if this keep happening again."

"Ah! But I get hungry..." exclaimed Rein.

"I'm just kidding Rein. Go to bed soon alright? We'll be shifting to the Asura tomorrow. Its going to be a long day." reminded Hayate.

"Okay"

As she goes back to bed, she thinks. 'Maybe I should cut down a bit. but that was just a bad dream right?'

That would be me and while what you've got is cool, it comes no where near matching the bit that you're planning to take out IMO.

After examining them for a few moments, she nodded slightly at the Lord. Breaking out in laughter, he smiled at the pair. "You two, have no idea what you have done have you? Never mind, suffice to know, you have done very well indeed. Bring the fragments to the laboratories and report to your commander."

"Yes, my Lord." Bowing, they retrieved the cases and left the room, leaving their Lord alone with the two silent women at his side.

Once the pair are gone, the chestnut colored hair woman in the room spoke up. "Does that mean....?"

"Yes" confirmed the Lord. "Those two have managed to complete their mission. Winter, how long will it take you and your team to reconstruct the Unison device and the assorted programs?"

Mentally calculating, Winter replied, "I will require 92968128 seconds to complete the task."

Rolling his eyes at her ever precise answer, he asked, "About 3 years?"

"Yes."

"Very well. And as for you," pointing to Chestnut again, "you know what to do."

"I do" and with this, both women left to their respective duties.

'...Mistress Hayate.' Blinking her eyes, she just stared ahead as she tries to remember what has happened. Reviewing her memories, she was startled to find herself still alive and as she tried to move, she also discovered that she was under heavy restrains on a star shaped table, being drain of almost all her mana as well as having multiple Anti Magi-link Fields centered upon her. Hearing foot steps, she tried to turn her head but found that even that simple movement was denied her.

"You are active," stated the lavender hair woman as she step into view.

"Why am I here? Did you reconstruct me? Do not know the danger I represent? You have to destroy me before the darkness within me fully regenerates." cried out Reinforce frantically.

Ignoring her, Winter spoke. "Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with extraction once the scans are completed."

She could do nothing but scream as the extraction process began. Pleading for them to destroy her did nothing at all as she was summary ignored. After the extraction, she was left alone to her thoughts. While others eventually came to study her, Reinforce did not see the lavender hair woman again and then it happened. She felt the corrupted defense program starting to regenerate within her again. Warning the people that they have to destroy her, she then caught sight of the lavender hair woman again. Knowing that she was the one in charge, again Reinforce pleaded for her destruction but the next few words shattered her hope.

"Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with extraction once the scans are completed."

This became a common occurrence for the next few years. The corrupt defense program regenerates, they extract it, other people come to study her afterwards until the corrupt defense program regenerates again, repeating the cycle. After the first year, she no longer pleads for destruction, knowing that it was useless. She just retreats into herself, not even screaming during the extraction process anymore.

Around six years after her reactivation, her routine was changed when she heard Lady Winter, which was what the rest refer to her, gave a different order then usual. "Begin scanning. Monitor the regeneration of corrupt defense program. Proceed with total extraction once the scans are completed. Erase all protocols and hidden programs within the Unison device. Start Level 7 deep scan and place this device in storage with current safety measures in place once confirmation of total eradication of the corrupt defense program."

At this pronouncement, along with the bits and pieces of conversations she overheard before, Reinforce could only stare. 'Does this mean they have completed it? No I must do something.'

"You are all making a terrible mistake. Please, for the sake of all, destroy this weapon you have created."

But as usual, she was ignored by all. As if to mock her further, the last bit she heard as she was being moved to storage filled her with despair. "All personal are report to factory 5. Mass production of Project Vi......"

'Mass production?' It was worse then she thought. She struggled futility against her restrains but they were just too secure to even allow her to move an inch. And when sound of the doors closing fade away, so do all her hopes.

She tried constantly but all her efforts were at vain. No matter how much she tried, like her attempts over those long six years and over most of this one, she failed. And she knew it was all her fault.

'I have fail you, my beloved mistress. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. I should have obeyed you. I'm so sorry.' were her thoughts as she weeps silently.

'Please, if anyone can hear me, pass this message to the Mistress of the Night Sky. Warn her of the danger that is coming. I beg of you. Tell her. TELL HER!!'

And she suddenly sits up, her head full of sweat and her heart beating rapidly. Quietly going to the bathroom to wash up, she fully open her eyes in shock as a figure with white hair and red eyes stared back at her from the mirror. Gasping, she blinked and her normal reflection was back.

"Rein?" muttered Hayate sleepily, "What are you doing up so late?"

"Nothing Hayate-chan," called back Reinforce Zwei. "Just a bad dream."

"I'm going make you stop eating supper if this keep happening again."

"Ah! But I get hungry..." exclaimed Rein.

"I'm just kidding Rein. Go to bed soon alright? We'll be shifting to the Asura tomorrow. Its going to be a long day." reminded Hayate.

"Okay"

As she goes back to bed, she thinks. 'Maybe I should cut down a bit. but that was just a bad dream right?'

Original Kha is brighter than Clone Kha, so this pic does bring out the difference more than Fate's sketch, which was meant to catch Kha in his darker moods.

Kha is decked in his Knight's Garb, which is easily inverted to become the Knight Armor mode, sans some consecrated metal plating that we see in Fate's sketch. Behind him is the coat of arms of the Cleric-Knights, the aptly named Celestial Being, Chamber Militant of the Licht von Belka.

I wanted a good cassock for Kha's clerical duties, but since the Kruznik's refused to leave my mind... I used it. And yes I should've gone Alucard pose, but this pic was based off Shiro's character song album cover, and Alucard might be more of an OOC reference for reference sake, so I'll pass.

And most of all, mercurianangel managed to bring out all that in a professionally done manner! The assistant to Dark God Satashi bestows us with a great gift! We must thank her wholeheartedly!

Noted. And nothing wrong with going outside your normal aproach, Syn is shaping up to be a mid- to long range combatant with virtually no melee offensive. Usually my characters tend to be close- to mid ranged, if not purely close-ranged characters.

Well I wouldn't say it's that far outside he's still a ranged fighter with a solid defense he's just a tad ponderous in terms of maneuvering. The high speed melee guys almost made of paper where more of a departure for me really.

I always wondered why none of these tropes was applied to Vita when she got stabbed...

Well getting stabbed through the chest front to back will tend to impair even you're average superhero... the fact she was even alive and moving is already pushing past many examples of "made of iron" into implacable man territory.

Then you may find it amusing that if canon continues with what we're given, Vivio will completely lack a Cartridge system.

I'm sure they'll find a way to give her one even she has to eat the cartridge or something which also brings this to mind....

Yes, this point is spawned of the age old 'conventional weaponry would destroy mages' debate. It's a well known fact that both mass-based weaponry and magic were used in the wars, which in my eyes pretty much makes the two equal.

I'm not sure about equal myself at least not if we're talking sci-fi technology here (which the while battle robots and interstellar battlecruisers would seem to indicate). Mages would have there place, but the fact is the numbers of powerful mages are ultimately somewhat limited while the number of tanks, guns, and fighter planes you can build is likely significantly less so. Yeah an S-Rank mage is powerful, but the problem is there are just so damn few of them and a C or B ranked grunt is ALLOT less potent against conventional weaponry.

I know in my own crack I actually had to beef magic up considerably beyond what I think is likely to make lower level guys even vaguely competitive with sci-fi level weaponry. (Teana starts to look kind of anemic for instance when you've got battlesuits with homing plasma guns, beam cannons, beam sabers, active camo, and jump jets for instance).

There's a lot of cool things you can do when you pay with the names. For example, Syn's Bow Device is called Hellskor, a play on the word Helskór, which in norse mythology were shoes you put on the dead so they could use them to walk to Valhalla. The amusing play is then that Hellskor is implied to be used to send people to Valhalla.

Or totally awesome badasses. One of the less remembered scenes (which I find strange, because to me it is one of his most awesome scenes to date) of Archer in the Fate/ Stay Night game is when he uses a bow to blow up an entire graveyard, setting it ablaze in the process. The only scene rivalling that one was him using Rho Aius to block Lancer's most destructive attack. Screw Unlimited Blade Works! Archer has so many tickets to awesome its a crime to waste them. I plan to incorporate those pieces in Syn, a destructive archer with an astounding defence. Should also be about time that the thread sees an ultimate defensive spell instead of a constant onslaught of ultimate offenses.

I find simply applying the Laws of Animation to be enough. For example, bullets are not dodgable normally, in anime they are. Conventional weaponry flies slower in anime, heck, Nanoha already does that. Those misiles the drones fire should not be that slow after all.

Very nice design!

But the two cartridge chambers make it look like it is actually two devices put together to form a bow (And thats where the Laevantin feel comes from).

Maybe you could try making the bow more 'thin' on one side... so that it is no longer symetric.
