Neither do I have any idea what direction the series might take, but I am sure that with Hakuya's support Kobeni can rebuild her self-steem and proudly cross her arms, puff her chest and say "NO!" to Benio (who will run in tears to harasshug Mashiro ).

I'm kind of starting to wonder if that REALLY is a lot of what this show is about (growth as an individual). I know on a lot of other places they crap on Hakuya a LOT, but in all reality he is a rather LARGE influence on Kobeni (more than the arranged marriage) especially her self esteem levels with all his praising of basically EVERYTHING she does/make and all that jazz, especially with Mashiro taking a lot of the Benio crazy off of Kobeni she really seems to be able to grow as a person.

You know.. the more I re-read that last sentence the more I dislike Benio's character..lol

Early on I had thought that Benio was just an annoying cliche. Then I began to think that maybe there was some intent to her obnoxious behavior. Sort of like she was being goofy to relieve some of the tension causing Kobeni's spells and thinking she knew more about circumstances than she appeared. There was a method to her madness...

Now I have come back to her just being obnoxious.

I'm actually appreciating Benio in the show. Without her, the show would be much more serious, and I like how her antics lighten up the mood. (I especially like when she calls her best friend to rant but always gets ignored lol) Otherwise it would be just drama drama drama. XD

But maybe that's just me liking NagiAsu so much, and so I wouldn't like this show nearly as much if Benio isn't here, since it would be going toe to toe with that.

So true Benio is the heart of this show

Following the general rule girls in anime have a second stomache for dessert so, considering how there are 4 woman in that household they should be fine.

Well, he won't be transforming anytime soon so there shouldn't be any problem.

And I think Mashiro's true form is a chipmunk. Loli body aside, her voice sounds close enough to be one.

I don't get this "don't feed chocolate to your dog" thing? Is that a reference to other anime or just a common knowledge?

Common knowledge. Chocolate is toxic to dogs.

As long as you only give a little, chocolate is actually not that bad for dogs. Most dogs, at least. I've seen one small dog eat about 11 ounces of chocolate before being noticed and stopped, another eating a bag of fun sized M&Ms on regular occasion, and the second one also eating an entire box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts. After calling the vets on the last one, it was discovered what you really need to be careful of are macadamia nuts. Basically had to induce vomiting to flush the dog's stomach to prevent it from being poisoned.

It depends on the type of chocolate, the amount, and the weight of the dog. The caffeine and the theobromine in the chocolate are the dangers. Baker's chocolate and dark chocolate have those in higher concentrations, making them more dangerous, while milk chocolate candies have less and are less so. Technically no chocolate is good for a dog, but small amounts of some types are less bad than others.

Guess it depends on the dog, i had a Pit/dalmation mix and he got a mouthfull (15-20) of Peanut MM's i had and he was game over sick for nearly a week... That episode alone cost me near 5 grand...flippin shit head wouldn't drink water had to get an IV goin on him.

This is the "official" reason for it: "Chocolate contains theobromine. A naturally occurring stimulant found in the cocoa bean, theobromine increases urination and affects the central nervous system as well as heart muscle. While amounts vary by type of chocolate, it's the theobromine that is poisonous to dogs. Larger amounts of chocolate, particularly of the most toxic type, can bring about epileptic seizures in some dogs, and in all dogs, can kill." Taken from "WebMD Pets"

So the series is rotten to the core ?

I consider Benio a necessary evil. She is a cause of a lot of comedy even if I rarely find her to be funny. A small dose here and there isn't a bad thing.

It's science!

This begs the question, chocolate (theobromine) posioning is a dog only problem or wolves are also affected? In case you say "it is obvious they are affected" remember it is a matter of (lack of certain) genes or parasites. Humans AFAIK are the only animals that shed skin due to overexposition to the sun, similarly, primates lost the ability to produce vitamin c when most other mammals can synthetise it in their bodies. BTW, I mention parasites because humans can eat peanuts due to some parasites we eat when we are young, that is why in clean first world countries the % of people that cannot tolerate peanuts (and can die from ingestion) has skyrocketed.

Wolves are also affected, both dogs and wolves lack the enzymes to process theobromine, not that a wolf would even consider eating chocolat, I doubt they even recognize it as food.
