jediknight just joking. personally i agree with sheebo, its either that or just some junior animator/colourer assistant made a mistake. a bit like how they made the mistake of colouring maximus jenius hair blue, then later on in the series it became canon that those with zentraedi (alien) blood had a specific coloured hair. which makes jenius hair colour confusing as he's suppose to be pure human. personally i just put it down to dying his hair, or he could be a rare one who exhibits the rare proto-culture genes being activated....who knows. so basically you can tell the those with non-natural hair with zentraedi blood. we only know that first generation human/zentraedi off springs gender are determined by the zentraedi blood, i.e. female zentraedi will always have females, males with male. dunno what would happen with a pure alien couple, i.e. meltran and zentraedi or with second generation with further mixing, just haven't been shown yet.

But with Ranka's scenes, she was either in the concert/sunlight and then later it was basically evening (? evening in my Macross colonization dome?). I think that sums it up and I can't see how animators slipped that up especially with the insane amount of budget in it.
At least it's not as hilarious as Roy Focker having black hair all of a sudden in the original Macross. I swear he had black hair like a dozen times. |

Just so you know, you have to die your hair with some funky colors which change hue depending on temperature to get that effect.
Average environment light just isn't going to do it. Your average color combinations just don't mix like that. In the forest and you had green and yellow, in the monster scene you have red/yellow light. It's such a solid fill too, I highly doubt it. Although a mistake it may be not...

Again, look at the lighting. The entire area is bleeding with evening-style overlay and all the colors were distorted in that scene. I think it should've been shown as a darker green, but sometimes animators simply color it blue-ish to let the colors be seen.
I think it's rather typical. |

its to do with light, because if you look around the character you can see the shade of red, this colour is the reflection from the alien armour. So the scene makes sense to me now, red reflected light, cancel out the red light being reflect from ranka hair, hence we only perceive the other two colours not filtered, blue and yellow. but as green has more blue in it.....hence what we have here.

well, no i didnt know they hadn't started yet. Usually they post a notice saying it was a special episode on the torrent page, but theres nothing there to say that. *shrugs* I wish they wouldn't pull stunts like this though. It's one of the reaons i ended up hating Code Gease so much, not to mention other shows that have pulled it.
