And I'm not really trying to say that it's good or bad for them to set the story up as something absurd like that. But there's a limit to how long most people will watch foosball before they get bored and go look for something else to do. And if characters don't show some level of believability in their actions, it just gets confusing. That's why I said they'll have to show some more serious purpose at some point, because it's hard to see any fanbase or any competitor sticking with a game all that long when they don't have any reason to care about the outcome. And those competitors who do continue to play won't play well since it doesn't really mean anything for them to win OR lose. I just want to see some sort of victory prize. |

That's okay. Most of my favored (Eclair, Brioche, Ricotta, Milly, Yuki) are on the dog side. Even Shu and Setsuna are Doggie. That's like best mentor/scientist and best intervention of warfare on the same side with a whole harem on the side.
You could almost say that if I were to direct an anime, I would put together this cast!

That's what the fansubbers wrote. What the line said was "Saiaku no bai, kono Filianno-jo made", meaning, "In the worst case, even this Filianno Castle...". The line itself didn't say what would happen to it, whether it would become property of the other nation or something. It doesn't sound like it from Princess Milly's description of their "plight" to Shinku. The way she described it as the people getting depressed from the losses, it doesn't really sound like they're actually conquering the territory and forcing the enemy nation to leave. If that had been the case, I might expect her to talk of losing the castle and her people either being forced to relocate or made subjects of a foreign kingdom, not of them feeling down.

I'm not sure but I get the feeling that it will be just a lost. If they lost the war. By the theme on how they do the war. I don't see it getting darker than a defeat in a sports fest. It's sad and depressing but it's not like the winner will turn you into slaves.
For me I just don't see it getting harsh. The treatment they will receive. I just got that feeling after seeing the war. Because at the beginning. It looks to me they are in desperate and really loosing. But the theme on how they do the war just destroys the mood for me.

Decent, unambitious anime.
Simple plot: Two countries play war with each other for fun. Their defenses are Takeshi's castle and Sasuke obstacle course. When the warriors die, they turn into little (adorable) cat balls. The only consequence is the lowered morale of the losing country and increased morale of the winning country. Overall, the show feels like a RPG, without having to press any buttons. One country was losing so much, they had to use a cheat code. They sent in a HERO! Episode 1 was decent. If the fight scenes are great, this anime can be quite entertaining. More entertaining then shows like Infinite Stratos and Freezing that attempt to craft a plot, but fail in doing so and waste time trying to be emotional. Instead, all Dog Days needs to succeed are well-animated fight scenes and laughable humor. Also, the female dog warriors have to be very hot. |

Cornwall isn't a town.
Dutchy, County or Unitary Authority. Possibly even Nation but not a town. Any more than say the State of Wyoming or Tottori Prefecture is a town. Last edited by dahak; 2011-04-08 at 20:36. |
