Can't say I was too surprised by Hikifune's form change since this is Kubo we're dealing with. He either has his females stacked, flat, tall and short and nothing else as long as the first breast sizes mentioned are mixed with those two distictive heights.
Great to see some Ichigo and Renji comedy again, been too long. Kon really is making up for the lost screentime since the start of this new arc. Really surprised we didn't see him take a dive for his heavenly marshmellows. XD. Also I WTF'd when as they were leaving she just went, "Oh yeah and I invented the mod soul even though I had no reaction to seeing Kon who is clearly a mod soul himself" She just admitted she was Kon's mother and there was no reaction? Even from Kon!? Make better use of your pages Kubo!! My last WTF was of course that the Zero squad member who had the least panel time by far, had no interaction with anyone or even SAID ONE WORD is the guy who 'invented the zanpakuto'.....What?!? That said I find it all interesting so next week should be good. |

I really like the idea of the Zero Division being composed of paragons of the Shinigami society: people who make/made the Shinigami into who they are today. The explanations fat-then-thin lady gave were quite interesting and generally well thought out. I am eager to see what is next, especially from a guy credited with creating (?) the zanpakuto.

Hikifune didn't invent mod souls, she says she invented the technique of putting a temporary artificial soul inside a body. From that technique the gikongan, tte candies the shinigami use to leave their gigai, was created. It was later when the idea of creating artificial souls with power (the mod souls) was developed. So she's not Kon's "mother". More like a "grandmother".
Still, I don't understand what Kubo means with creating the zanpakutou. Maybe it's the first guy to develope one or the first to learn shikai. |

founder of zanpakutou??? now it's interesting...
seems like Hikifune is Urahara's mentor and that hot spring dude is Unohana's mentor then, the rest of zero squad will be kidou's founder... and bankai's founder? lol! |

All these recent revelations make me wonder just how old Yamamoto really was. I mean unless squad zero members age differently from everyone else, Yamamoto clearly predates the very shinigami responsible for "doing things that encompass the complete history of soul society"--and by no small margin either. Was Yamamoto as old as the existence of man? lol

@Alchemist
I see, I never made it that far on the anime. That's the reason why I didn't know of that arc never knew it was also the oldest fire sword makes you wonder how old the zero squadron members are.
