The first episode did a good job introducing the setting and the characters, as well as hinting at some huge conspiracy. Strong BL undertones as expected, but it didn't bother me too much. Nezumi is pretty cool, I feared he'd be the typical aloof and dark/emo boy, but that wasn't really the case. Good.
This first episode piqued my interest, so I'd say it's done a very good job.

This is the first. I'm actually reading the translation of the novel. It's a pretty interesting story and the translator did a great job. I'm so looking forward to see how the anime plays it out. Like this the most at the moment.

BFFs don't hold hands. It's just that they toned down a certain scene in ep. 1 prob due both characters are 12 yo. They can be more lax at chapter 3 adaptation.

*sigh*
Great idea for a story ... but the BL undertones really kinda wrecked it for me ... esp in the ED. -_- Ah well ... everyone has different tastes I guess. I will prolly watch a few more eps. I sure hope the story is ravenously good and can "overshadow" the yaoi elements for me.

I don't really get what's the big deal with guys running away from anime with BL undertones. :/
I mean, us girls never go: "oh eeew, those two girls are holding hands. To hell with this anime" or "Oh my god, this anime is totally ruined for me. All I see is bouncing tits all over the place." or "OMG, how can those two girls hug each other?! I'm dropping this ASAP." =.= The guys get their fanservice all the time and we never complain. Now let us girls have our fanservice without the guys complaining. :I |

No, no. I get it that everyone has their own tastes. What am getting at is this:
For example. Anime A is about to air, and in the summaries it says something along the lines of: one guy, many girls after him. Some shoujo-ai tones. Most females at least give the first few episodes a shot before judging it. And then we have Anime B which is about to air and summaries say something along the lines of: two guys embarking on a jorney. some shouen-ai tones. Most guys don't even give watching the first few episodes a shot. They just go: Oh no, BL, I'm outta here. this anime doesn't exist. D: But oh well. I guess its just one of those unbalanced things. |

I cannot speak for the others, but in my case I simply don't like it. *shrugs* But, as mentioned above, I did say I would keep giving the show a chance for now. I tend to like futuristic disaster, cyberpunk, dystopian material in general anyways.
