This chapter was awesome. I actually squealed like a fangirl when I saw Kenpachi's big entrance. Can't wait to see the mayhem that man brings to this fight.

I don't really mind how Byakuya was killed off. I mean, it's a ~~war~~ massacre Kubo's depicting and during that type of event there is no glory in death. Everyone who does does it suddenly, unexpectedly and with far less fan fair than one would imagine.

anyway, Kenpachi's entrance is awesome... who will predict there's still some Shinigami who can put up a fight.... I even forget that Kenpachi always fight without bankai (because he doesn't have it) so he will have no problem against that quincy... xD

Think kenpachi will lose the fight in the next chapter and probably quite easily too. Predicting that the quincies won't suffer much casualties after killing most of the captains. That quincy boss will most likely fight yamamoto afterwards. Hoping to see some Royal Guards soon.

I have a nagging feeling Unohana is going to show up where Byakuya and everyone is and lay waste to people then heal everyone.

She's supposed to fight this arc. And its hinted she may be the 2nd strongest captain so I wouldn't be surprised to see her overwhelm people.

Well, Kenpachi doesn't even have a bankai to steal (or so they say), so he should at least put up a good fight. But I can't see him taking down the boss. That seems more like Ichigo's job. Kenpachi taking on the boss so early just tells me that he's gonna die.

Yea...then again let's compare the size of the Qincy "army" with the Shinigami army.

The score that really matters is more like:

Quincy: 3
Shinigami: 3

Since the only characters that really matter are Captains, Vice-Captains and the two from the 11th Squad.

I almost feel sad that I couldn't bring myself to enjoy this chapter as much as the rest of you. Byakuya lost the battle last week as far as I'm concerned. And instead of getting an ample amount of plot progression, the majority of the chapter was spent beating the dead horse. The only real plot progression happened at the end. Its nice to see Kenpachi's not wasting any time trying to move things along.

Anyways, if Kubo felt Byakuya was worthy of a quick and effortless defeat, then I'll call BS if Kenpachi doesn't follow suit (especially since he's confronting Buckbeard of all people). Its pretty much a given that Kubo needs to further establish feats that will prove why this guy is the leader. So an easy win for Buckbeard is obviously expected right here and now. Then again, I suppose the same general notion could also apply towards the 2nd-in-command. Either way, Kenpachi's going down.

Please just make it quick Kubo. I mean at this point, it's obvious the shinigami aren't going to win this round. And since this outcome was already alluded to way back in February, I'd rather not spend the next couple dozen chapters dragging out this massacre. Oh, and for the love of god, DO NOT switch to another battle next chapter. Because despite my gripes with this weeks chapter, I'm actually very excited for next weeks chapter...unless we end up switching scenes to establish how Hitsugaya, Soifon, and Komamura are holding up.

I am afraid that is Byakuya, he was hit by his bankai and it crushed him on the wall. He is cut to pieces and most likely is dead.

Doesn't "most likely dead" in Bleach mean he'll show up and save everyone in a cool manner in a few chapters with excessive bandages and a cut on his head? to finish it he'll say some witty remark expressing his superiority to everything in the universe. well that's just the trend i guess there is no rule saying it can't be broken.

Great chapter! byakuya has been boring for so long now. the reason he didnt do anything flashy was because we saw the extent of his flashiness back when he fought ichigo. his was actually the only fight i liked in the fullbring arc which was just a battle of attrition, although i would have still preferred never to see that arc happen in the first place. i'm glad he's gone. it was kinda sad, but the writing up to this point was just so bad that i'm eager to see new characters. im just so done with the captains we've seen countless times already.

the espada getting massacred was way more upsetting to me than the captains getting massacred..

i think so. its pretty rough. i think kubo's had it with these characters too.

also, as awesome as that entrance was, no way is kenpachi going to win against buckbeard. he's filed under the category of 'captains we've seen too much of the same stuff from' also.

just to say, i really like byakuya and kenpachi as characters, they are just overdone to the point of being simple with no character development at all. its boring and im glad the series is finally changing pace
