I don't know about getting random acts of charity, especially since I'm in an altogether different timezone. ^^; It's why it's so rare finding Graham/Kaiohshin online to play with.

Act 2 is a struggle, and Act 3 is impossible. I can kinda do-by with most elites in Act 1 with gold find gear, which brings me down to around 470 resist and 28k health. I use a standard defensive build, but no shield or cheezy-hadouken-deadly reach junk. Once you get used to it, Act 1 will be a walk in the park.

Dunno if it's true, but people are blaiming some kind of massive exodus of migration from Asia server to US happening tonight as cause of the currently ongoing massive lag spikes. My latency is jumping between 1300 to 2300.
It was utterly unplayable, so I logged off. Waiting for the storm to calm down and play the game later.

Ahh. Asia server has been down for nearly 24 hours, so a lot of angry Korean players started making characters on the US server.
This is understandable. If US server went down for a whole day, a lot of us would be playing on the EU servers. In fact, I have a barbarian on the EU server I occasionally hop on to.

EDIT: World of Lagcraft over with woot! Ahahahaha, that -req weapon I won in auction... equipped it on the barb, went from 925DPS to 7200DPS. Massive overkill in Nightmare, this is gonna be fun. Kull dropped in like, six hits or so.

The thing about the AH is that there are always good deals to be had. Still farming Inferno Act-1 with a Monk, but I haven't spent more than 100k gold on any single item yet, or 50k for that matter. The two items that I bought for a 100k were a Chest Armour with -7% Dmg from Elites, All Resists and Phy. Resist; and a Shield with All Resists, Phy. Resist, socket, Dexterity, +5% HP, and the maximum 20% Block Chance.
The 522dps Fist Weapon I'm using now, with socket and +18% IAS, cost me only 25k gold. Comes with Cold Damage too, the only damage type with a secondary effect, which slows enemies down. Works wonderfully with Sweeping Wind. A quick look at her current stats, before and after Mantra of Healing. At the moment, I am able to tank for pubs. Pretty gratifying to tank stuff that 1-hit kills all the glass cannons. The point I am trying to make is that you can always get a good bargain. Just keep looking and don't impulse buy. Cheers.

500k can net you a ~650dps +500LoH weapon, sometimes with stats and at a decent speed.
If you want 800dps weapons (+150dps) you are almost looking at a mil+ I suspect there are AH bots that just buy the best deals on AH :S. Buying stuff on AH is an investment: by getting better gear I can farm more efficiently which nets me more gold. This is especially true for those who cannot farm Act III: as most items that sell for millions have a chance to drop there. Even the occasional blue can fetch me anywhere from 100k to 1mil (socketed high dps 1 hander). |

As expected, Magic Find is highly valued even with N valor going against it-- having it greatly boosts the sell value of your item. You can pretty much sell any blue amulet with a good MF and any other usable mod and have it sell within minutes. Gold find is also valued as such.

So did the Korean exodus happen last night as predicted? Because I bowed out last night to catch up on AKB0048 *coughs*... Anyway, it looks like I'm taking the looooong road through Inferno, as it's going to take some saving to get a better weapon that isn't, you know, blue. And the selection in the AH the other day didn't look too attractive either...
As a diversion, I made a wizard. Named him Kyon, in honor of the fact that it's Crispin Freeman voicing the male wizard. Heh.

Where is the list of everyone's battletags? Cant find it in such a long thread.
Magic Find is VERY useful. with 239%MF, if i swap to MF right before an elite kill I am almost guaranteed a rare, sometimes even 2, but occasionally only blues even with no NV stack at all. Given the difficulty of Act 3 elite those MF gear is worth every penny as long as its <200k. In 1.0.3 I would be excited to get 2-3 rares every elite pack after 5 stacks :O. Gold find I never bothered to get a set, there are (still) ways to get >500k an hour easily with gold find gear. I sort of like the gold find that just happen to be on my gear as they contribute a little to cover for repair costs. |
