I'm looking for a romantic anime. I don't want a ecchi series. Well if the ecchi sences are for yoai then yes. Well here's a list:
-romantic
-sad or very trajic like someone dies
-bloody
-vampires
-funny
-adventure
-action packed
-hard to understand

Well here is some romantic anime I like
-inuyasha
-Pandora hearts
-rumbling hearts
-chobits
-Kaze no stigma
-Rosario+vampire
-Vampire knight and guilty

Suzuka: Yamato Akitsuki travels to Tokyo alone to study in one of the high schools located within the area. He lives in with his aunt who operates a public bath solely for the ladies in the local district and begins his normal high-school life. One day, he chances upon a girl in school and is immediately mesmerised by her beauty. He is shocked when he realise later that the girl, Suzuka, is actually living next door to him.

Might not be exactly what you're looking for, but Voices of a Distant Star is an excellent little gem, and I think it's very romantic.

The best recommendation I can think of is Clannad and its continuation, Clannad After Story. Some of the best romance I've seen anywhere, not just in anime. But you've probably already heard of it.

True Tears is another great romance series, with strong visuals and a good progression. Has a unique appeal, and can be quite sad.

I highly recommend Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora and H20 : Footprints in the Sand : they were both sad.
