Episode 8:
That was funny. Poco and Souta on a trip...but Poco goes on his own little adventure for a while. The programmer guy's reaction to meeting Rinko for the first time is just priceless, even more so after he finds out that she is Souta's sister. Thought the episode was pretty amusing overall.

Episode 8
Souta and Poco go to Shodoshima to see Team Planet for Souta's possible new job. Poco gets lost and Souta panics. He does say quite a lot of things like he wants to be with Poco—stuff you wouldn't really expect from a guy looking after someone else's kid. Saeki looks like a fun guy though. I wonder what Dahama was talking about. Lol with Hiroshi. He was already thinking so far as to making Souta his brother-in-law until it was revealed to him that the woman who stole his heart is married. Poor guy. No one likes him. |

Ep 08
One of the things I found most interesting about Souta's reaction when Poco got lost (talk about "coincidences"! - winding up in the boat of Souta's potential employer? - not a coincidence, I think) was that it brought to the surface and sort of "shoved in his face" many things that Souta was dimly aware of but "did not want to think about". Very interesting (and not a coincidence, I think) and also very true to life in my opinion. The series really does come across as very true to nature, so to speak, and I really enjoy it's doing so. ^^

Episode 9
Souta makes some udon probably for the first time and it doesn't turn out that good. Poco turns into his original tanuki form and can't turn back. Souta is no worried that this may happen again so he's letting Poco sleep in tanuki form. Rinko mentions what Souta said back then when Poco got lost. Souta said too much back then and Rinko asks him if he was serious about what he said. And Souta dodges the question. Souta is regretting not talking enough with his dad thanks to the time he's spending with Poco. The shrine guy knows something. The ending they're going for is probably where Poco can no longer be with Souta. Should be good. |

Hiroshi is just adorable! He suffered two shocking revelations that Rinko is Souta's sister and she is married. His heartbreak was just hilarious, poor guy.
So things are being hinted that Poco may lose his ability to change into a human and be with Souta forever. Although, there seems to also be a second hint that it may just be possible. I think Poco's love for Souta will be so great that his wish to remain human and be with Souta will be granted. At least that better be how this will end or I'll cry. Although if Poco ends up staying with Souta permanently...I wonder what crazy excuse Souta will come up with to explain the new predicament?

Ep 10
Argh! This series is so well done! This episode wreaked havoc on my heart - I was crying several times throughout it, especially in the second half. Interesting to see what Poco did in the cemetery there. Was not expecting such obvious manifestation like that. Rin especially kinda became much more real in this episode. I could not help to cheer for her when she was praying.... Poor lady.

I love this sibling pair and childhood friend dynamic. It's so beautiful! And Shinobu, no one could fault you for crushing on Rinko, specially when she's voiced by the lovely Nakahara Mai. I could listen to her speak in that cute dialect all day.
Just to confirm: they are all speaking in the Sanuki dialect? I just googled 'Kagawa Prefecture dialect', since that's where Souta's hometown is located. If so, I can't tell it apart from the typical Kansai dialect I hear in anime lol. |
