Well, after reading a comment on how this franchise was the spiritual predecessor of series like Nanoha and Mai-Hime, checking the cast list and seeing that the battle designer for the series was the same guy who worked in the Dragon Ball series, I decided to give a try to the first season.
Spoiler for my opinion of the first season:
Overall it is a series I would recommend to anyone if you are bored during a weekend and have nothing to do. Turn off your brain and enjoy the ride. Despite all of its failings, I would rate it as one of the best series the mahou shoujo genre has to offer to guys before the advent of series like Nanoha, as I mentioned in my introductory paragraph. Proto random rating 7.4. Good series, it was worth my time. Nothing spectacular, but I'm left satisfied. i will post my opinions on max hearth later today. totally random offtopic comment: Maybe it's just me, but I have always wanted to watch a series of this genre where there is a third, agressive neutral faction bent on the balance between good and evil and who keeps alternatively helping the good and bad guys. Anyone know of anything on those lines? Thanks to Quarkboy and co. for the work in this series
