Dia seems to have impressed the japanese anime watchers, this picture is ranking near the top of pixiv currently (#10)

Maybe they're surprised to see the "color coded characters" being expanded

Well, RIP Phos?

Watched the first two episodes of this and yeah this is definitely top tier CG. I'm not sure who even prefer now between Orange and Sanzigen anymore. Now, as impressive as visual are, story and character overall aren't grabbing me yet for some reason. Probably due to the lack of intrigue at the moment. I'm hoping there is a little to hindu-looking beings, the Lunarians beyond just generic monster they are emulating right now. At least the end of ep 2 shifted things in an unexpected and potentially interesting direction.

I'd rate that as one of Maurice Binder's less impressive title sequences myself. I'm more of a fan of his titles where the texts move sinuously over womens' bodies like in From Russia with Love:

Also, to my mind, the best film adaptation of any of Fleming's novels.

The OP for the anime Yakushiji Ryoko no Kaiki Jikenbo pays tribute to Binder's famous titles: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x647an

How many episodes is this? I hope 24 at least. The manga looks like it's close to the ending, so here's hoping the anime can tell the whole story.

Damn, that entire Dia running sequence is majestic as heck! Episode 3 really pushed Dia to be the more likable gem.

Diamond and Yellow Diamond (9:33) are the most likable gems i think. But yeah the CG is done really well in this show and even rivals regular animation for this type of show.

So I guess Phos finally found her calling: snail whispering.

Really enjoying the characterisation in this show. Both Dia and Cinnabar were really great this episode. I loled hard when one of the stone people said the snail was smarter than Phos. I also loled at that next episode preview. Looks like monk dude is getting a nice slimey wig.

The cg in this show is mind blowing.
Can't remember any anime that has better looking 3D-animations. They are so smooth and not stiff at all with very few exceptions here and there. Most certainly the most underrated series this season.

Huh; judging from the title of the next episode, they may not be sticking to a strict schedule of adapting two manga chapters per episode. Episode four shares its title with chapter nine of the manga, so three chapters might get packed in this time. The storytelling in the manga is pretty decompressed, so they can probably afford to pick up the pace a little bit, but it does make me kind of wonder where they plan to end the season...

Anyhow it's nice to have Phos back, even if only Dia agrees.

Majestic prince

Then again, it's the same studio as houseki so it's not a surprise. Nothing in the industry can compare to orange when it comes to TV shows.

And Dia is now spreading like wildfire on Twitter. There's a campaign dedicated solely for her by the anime staff

Meh, too much movement at times.

The ending contains an hint of where they will likely end this season. Which means they're going to adapt more than two chapters each episode more often later on.

They'd really only have to do it once every four to get there in 12 episodes- but as long as we get at least that far it should be a treat for everyone who enjoyed the way they've animated the fight scenes and Dia's run this episode.

That sequence when Diamond was rushing back to the 'gem temple' was so fluid, almost Miyazaki-level goodness.

Ouch @Phos, everyone outside Dia was just dumping all over him/her/it.

I mean they weren't wrong, but...

Why do people insist that the gems have no gender? Obviously they look and talk female.
