While "I want to destroy the world" would normally be a rather insane idea...I get where Cardinal is coming from. Honestly, the situation is far worse than she even can imagine. The only future that world has involves the residents being turned into conscripted armed forces. Fighting in mechanical bodies for the sake of people and a country that they neither have any emotional connection to and who doesn't even treat them like actual people. Evacuating a small group that Kirito can sneak off into another virtual game world might actually be the only decent option.
Either way this was a good bit of info dumping for Kirito to take in. Sounds like it will be one heck of a climb to the top.

This episode quite literally bored me to yawns and tears. Can any Light Novel readers tell me if this kind of thing is going to happen again? Two exposition heavy episodes in a row (and the introduction of a convenient god) have taken a toll on my interest and I'd rather not have a repeat of that.

Man, it takes seeing Quinella and Cardinal fighting to realize just how overpowered someone who's actually mastered this system can be .
So Kirito is now stuck between two Gods fighting for control of the Underworld, with one brainwashing a legion of knights at her command to give her power and immortality while the other wants to stop her and then destroy the world to save it from the impending apocalypse. To think this story just started with him waking up in a small village . But it says something about Rath that an individual with enough awareness of their existence is able to figure out how terrible their plans for Underworld really are. I mean, letting an invasion and slaughter happen just to facilitate turning the citizens of Underworld into what you want them to be is pretty harsh for a world you're basically the God of. That's not even getting into the issues with Underworld culture and what Quinella has been up to that I'm sure Rath is completely oblivious to . I guess it does explain why they created something like the Dark Territory to begin with . Kirito hugging Cardinal was a really sweet moment. He was able to validate her existence by giving her the human warmth she had never truly known before. And on-top of that, he's committed to saving the Underworld and Cardinal . I loved Kirito's reaction at learning the tower has 100 floors. It's Aincraid all over again . So now Kirito and Eugeo have to get their swords and fight through the Gold Sa...I mean, Integrity Knights to save Alice and stop Quinella .
