Aguri Ōnishi plays the dark elf Karla, while Takuya Satō plays Karla's companion Arvin. Ōnishi also performs the anime's opening song as her character.

Nobuaki Nakanishi (Mahoujin Guruguru series, Kasimasi - Girl Meets Girl, Koihime Musō series, Mangirl!) directs the anime at Jumondo (Cosplay Rakuen, Victorian Maid Maria no Houshi, Boku to Misaki-sensei). Fumihiko Shimo (Talentless Nana, How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?, New Game!) is supervising and writing the series' scripts. Chisato Kikunaga (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle episode animation director) is designing the characters.

Wait, this actually got an anime? And full 12 episodes as well, not shorts? Unexpected, I thought there was too little material out there.

Well, they did put in a lot of extra stuff that wasn't shown or hinted at in the manga, like the "burrow" of Mostly-san or that they slept over there or that Carla got her mace from there, etc. Guess they have done similar stuff for future episodes as well.
Interesting that they showed all "guests" of future episodes in the ED. A few of them I haven't seen yet in the manga translation.

It is pretty entertaining though, an incompetent warrior who is the straight man to the "healer" who has an easier time cursing someone than healing them and got a way inflated opinion of herself.^^

Yeah this really feels like something more suited to shorts; its a fun premise but 24 minutes feels too long. I'll probably give it another week or two anyway.

I do wonder if they are pushing it with making this a full length type of series. Although to be fair...I could always just watch half of it and take a break before watching the rest .

The trailers really didn't get across how absolutely aggravating this girl is. I get part of it was a pun, but this really should have been the highlight. The amount of restraint involved from trying to end this healer's life was truly incredible. Guy is already a hero in that respect!

Honestly his best option might be to kill this girl and just keep enough of her around for the curse to not kill him! A dark suggestion to be sure. But honestly...it might be necessary!

Apparently the episode was about 80% anime-original, so... WTF?
I'm assuming the draw of this anime is a cute dark-skinned girl doing comedy, but half of the episode was taken up by some stupid bear dragging an entire joke for 20 minutes (most certainly anime-original)
The VAs weren't exactly the best out there either, with the girl basically speaking in the same tone for the entire episode. She's not supposed to be deadpan, so that doesn't work there

Yeah, needless to say, a pretty rough first episode.
But the scariest part is that this director is the one who is also doing Hoshi no Samidare.
This guy is perfectly fine throwing in boring anime-original stuff in the first episode of a series of this level, I can only imagine what will happen to Samidare...

Are we sure Carla is a healer? Cursing people, summoning monsters and beasts, if it weren't for Mostly-san saying that she did heal Alvin over night, I'd be sure she is just dressing up as a healer while actually being another class.

Also why are adventurers even needed when you got so many kind, helpful and civil monsters around? Feels a bit useless, then again that is a perfect job for someone like Alvin, isn't it? XD

No way Carla is a healer, no way. If she is her god must be super embarrassed by her.^^

Alvin really is weak and pretty amateurish, no anti-poison equipment in a forest level screams noooooob all over the place. So weak that a normal walking and talking mushroom not only beats him but takes pity&interest in him to join their party. Since all Alvin can do is tank dmg, he should be their meatshield while Carla and Mushroomhead deal out the dps.

Next episode gonna be about the absolute beginner dungeon and Alvin walks straight into a trap in there, lol. Dude is hopeless, the only good he is for is to be the straight man for Carla's outrageous claims of being a kind and motherly healer.

To be fair though the mushroom was trained in martial arts and is probably higher ranked than Alvin.

Maybe Alvin should consider a career change, triggering all those beginner traps, like a baker or something. Though I could only see him bake burned bread for some reason.^^

That said, as funny as some parts were the flashback of Alvin when he was rejected from the get-go from other parties and made fun of as "veteran rookie" (with 100 levels in beginnerness) it was quite sad. It's never nice to be an outcast and to know others look down on you, especially with Alvin trying so hard on his own to become a proper adventurer. And as much as Carla teases Alvin and burns through his nerves, she does stick to him and it was very adorable how happy she was about her first cleared dungeon, even happier than the beginner Alvin. Those two outcasts are perfect as a party in my opinion. <3

After seeing Alvin's stats (only 3 in str? Dude...) I am wondering what Carla's stats are. I bet she got higher str than him for breaking down that door.

Next episode seems to be an anime only, at least I don't remember it from the manga series.
