Well, it looks like Klein got a bit of both a surprise and relief after the latest episode.
I also smell some jealousy as well thanks to Sinon. Well, this arc was over. Pretty straightforward and predictable stuff.

Sinon was just teasing him as a joke to mess with him, a little playful way to get him back for the way he teases her. Asuna and Kirito's relationship is unchanged. Kind of funny to watch Klein being so goofy over Freya and Skuld, but in hindsight no less odd than Kirito and Asuna doting on Yui.
That was a fun three parter a nice change to kick the angst and the dark stuff to the curb for awhile and just have some good old fashioned adventurering and raiding. Got two legendary weapons, a crap load of treasure, and saved a whole land in the bargain as the changes they wrought should be permanent as this was a once off quest for the world itself so they'll be famous for that too. Good stuff. |

This was a really good arc.
It had literally none of the problems I've complained about before. Kirito had a personality, he actually failed at things, there was an ensemble cast with their own motivations, it passed the Bechdel Test.

This was a nice little story. Was a good chance for the whole group to work together on something. Really haven't seen characters like Silica or Lisbeth get into actual fights since their one episode shorts in the first season.
Oh Klein, what a guy . Guess he'll need to start working on those hammer skills. Still fair that he got Mjolnir considering he was the one that decided to get Freja out of the cage. Otherwise there was no way they were going to actually succeed in finishing that quest. Props as well for going for Skuld like that . Props to Sinon for having some fun there. Really causing trouble for Kirito like that is fair considering she did save Excalibur for them. Though I'm not quite sure why Pina was giving him the glare as well . Anyways, was nice to see this group again and just have a bit of fun.

lol, lots of funny stuff this episode.
Freya turning out to actually be a trap. I made a joke about that last episode, but didn't expect her to actually be one. Leafa hugging Kirito and all he can think about is trying to equip the Excalibur Sword. Sinion hookshoting the Sword and Kirito's face. And Sinion NTRing Kirito from Asuna by giving him the sword. I hope Klein gives that hammer to Lisbeth since she actually uses blunt weapons. Skuld also looks very similar to Lisbeth imo, so the pairing fuel for them is higher. lol @ Kirito having to pay for everyone.

That bit with Klein and Skuld was actually portrayed as something more heartwarming in the anime, instead of the obvious comedic tone that the LN had. Otherwise though, Klein you have our respect.
So next week, Mother's Rosario!

The quest continues.
They sure make a good team. I knew the female NPC was too good to be true. Giving that NPC the hammer turned out to be a good idea. Well, at least the they had help with the final boss. Pulling out excaliber had a different meaning for Kirito. Now that quest is done too. Nice episode ^^

That was a nice 3 part arc. Was a fun change from the dark stuff and it was nice to to see the entire group together. They even got two legendary weapons.
It looks Sinon got her revenge for what Kirito did earlier.

Ah, I always loved reading the Caliber story before it got taken off of baka-tsuki, and I liked watching it even more. I still have a slight annoyance at the fact that they spelled ALO's Excaliber, as "Excalibur", but they managed to rectify it in the end without messing up too badly.
Also, as Lisbeth said, and I'm sure the rest of you agree, Klein, I respect you from the bottom of my heart. Here's to Klein for actually scoring with an NPC!

Yay for Klein! Even after the Freyja trap, he then actually asked Skuld out and gets something. The anime was more serious than the novel, since from Kirito's POV, he was shocked that Klein asked, and even more shocked that Skuld answered. One of the perks of interacting with AI NPCs I guess.
Happy with the airtime for most of the recurring cast, seeing them all raid together and with relative low stakes, without the angst and trauma and over the top villains that plague most other arcs. Not to mention that Klein's valor led to them winning the raid battle. It was a fun three episode arc, nice to see an actual raid, too bad it couldn't have been longer. Like this kind of MMO story more than GGO. |

I like the boss battle. A mini-quest in the middle of it, and an event battle too. Those are elements that make up a memorable boss battle.
And really Kirito, you preferred an imaginary sword over a girl, sigh. I saw the manga scans of how Sinon handed that sword over to Kirito, but the anime didn't present in that way, so it was a little disappointing. And so, Kirito will have 3 swords to use from now on? |

The part where Kirito throws away the Excalibur was really strange.
He could have just gotten Tonkii to grab him while hugging/carrying it the same way Klein was grabbed, or simply throwing it onto Tonkii and having the other members catch it for him. It just seemed like a pointless scene beyond giving Sinon something to do. The whole deal with Thor being disguised was funny, though I would have expected that from the trickster Loki more than anything. |
