His defense is probably even stronger than his offense, so ranged attack would still need to be some cheating conceptual level or something like that, to do even a bit damage to him.

As for whether his punch could get through imagine breaker: Yes it could, because Saitama's power is really just normal human power multiplied by whatever value neccessary, gained through "normal" means, i.e. training, with "whatever" being literal, i.e. he could probably even take universe destroying attacks head on and negate the attack, or even counter right through it.

So he gain the power at the cost of the most important thing in his life-his hair?

It's not like that. In the OPM universe superpowers is disgustingly easy to obtain. That is why they have new supervillains born every day and never running out.

You don't "pay the price" for powers. You just get powers by working towards it or just wanting it really badly, and you alone decide if you want to use it for evil or for good.

IMO people who become monsters were leaning evil before they transformed. But other members of the fandom disagree with me and say it is possible for some of them to just be normal people who obtained powers that are also turning them evil.

Did Saitama pay a price? Well, you would be told about what he did, in either ep 2 or 3. But the main price he paid is what he already told you this week, that he doesn't feel human anymore.

The story is more about "the world where One Punch Man exists" than about Saitama himself.

He is somewhat of a plot device rather than being a straight forward protagonist.
Godzilla in Godzilla films. Dr Manhattan in Watchmen.
Central figure of the story, but not necessarily the entire focus or perspective.

OPM isn't about "Main character getting better at killing things". It is about why you kill, when not to kill, and when you do kill, understand one's reasoning for it.

Does monsters deserve to be killed on sight even if they haven't done anything wrong? What if a superhero become a blood thirsty avenger and became cruel? How does a society function where superpowered individuals literally spring up weekly?

The OPM universe is complicated. Saitama himself is merely a very small part of his world. The society functions without him, it doesn't revolve around his life.
Any OPM virgins, read these two posts. You won't find any better intellectual descriptions of the phenomenon that is OPM.

Then turn off your brains and just watch it, because any intellectual interpretation of OPM—no matter how correct—is going to wildly miss the point of this title. This is a manga and a series to be experienced so much more so than discussed.

But right now it kind of feels like OPM is neither really watched nor discussed. For the hype I thought it got it doesn't seem to get much attention after its first episode. Maybe Saitama's baldness does turn off potential watchers after all? D:

The "story" doesn't really kick off until ep 2. This is basically a prelude.

Well, lots of moe shows this season. Some of which are pretty good, for once. And those fans are a lot more vocal than most, with all their "mai waifu" arguments. Neither of the OPM "waifu" candidates have shown up yet (though one is in the OP), but both are EX class.

Well, it's not like OPM has many waifus to begin with. And some of those waifus happens to get killed due being monsters. Or end up being just very bishi guys where then half the fanbase still can't believe this beautiful and sexy person has a ding-dong between his legs. xD

I guess we will get more talk once the cast gets bigger in OPM and people can talk about their favorite heroes. I for one can't wait for a certain hero with a bike.^^

Madhouse also have done a better adaptation job so far. Compare to the three LN adaptations who gets readers complaining about how the adaptations of their shows get butchered. It seems easier to pinpoint where a studio fucked up than where another studio nailed it right.

This is true. You may draw more flies with sugar than with vinegar, but that's definitely not how it works on the internet.

There is a lot I want to talk about concerning OPM. But there is almost nothing I can say that wouldn't spoil future plot elements. Rest assured, I will make posts once the upcoming arc finishes, and that shouldn't take too long.

There is that, too... For a series based around a guy who wins every fight with one punch, there are a surprising number of pleasantly unexpected developments.

There's only so much praise you can give a show before it just turns into a dumb circlejerk. There's nothing really to discuss

Maybe it was because an LQ version of the first episode had been released for a while. Perhaps from EP2 on it will be different.

This show was pretty good, and really fun. The fighting animation reminded me of Kill la Kill or something like that. I've also realized it's a dangerous show to watch while eating, nearly choked on my garlic bread.

Episode 2:

Genos is freaking awesome and it looks like the episode spared no time showing off his abilities.

Same with Saitama this episode as well as we see him in action too.
The visual quality of this series still remains top notch which is definitely a pleasant sight to see. Idk why but I'm also starting to like that ED theme song...

GG Mosquito Girl. She never stood a chance.
