(I realized this isn't from a magazine, but it's at least a place to post poll results)

For whatever credibility it has, biglobe's character poll for female characters of Fall 2012 has Rikka (Chūni-byō Demo Koi ga Shitai!), Mashiro (Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo), and Rin (Little Busters) as the top 3 place respectively.

I'm still not sure how Kuroyukihime ever managed to top one of these bigglobe heroine polls a couple seasons ago as she's just so far removed from the type of character they seem to go for. Japan's incredibly inconsistent tastes in female characters will forever remain one of life's great mysteries to me.

Long dark-haired beauty, vaguely kuudere, very cool and often badass in action scenes that she stars in.

To a great degree, KYH is there for the same reasons that Homura is.

Yeah, the bigglobe polls are harder to figure out overall...

We may know about their quality, but it definitely feels like a minority opinion when it comes to the popularity polls over there.

I could write something haterish about certain archtypes but I'll just stop here.

But I'll just say it's nice somewhere over there appreciates female characters that can make themselves noted without throwing a tantrum or just being a general nuisance.
