Battletech armor, nuff said.

It's a place where 1.000 wood stick, 100 machinegun and 1 giant ass cannon do same damage, because the armor is ridiculously ablative. It's hundreds of paper-thin armor sandwich spaced in micrometer scale.

You didn't need to mention that, as I said, Japanese writer LOVE this concept, it's the irony and hypocritical humor that makes it work, which also the reason of why this concept where "Women rules, men whipped" can range from strange to outright disgusting to foreign audience.

new armor from combining ideas of zero and greedy:

3 layers.

First layer: magnetic incombustible filing/or dust O.o

second layer: a few layers of vectran(shearing fluid if can fit it.)

third layer: a single plate of piezoelectric material.

The armor functions simultaneously as an ablative and reactive armor. Normally, the piezoelectric plate attracts material from the air, creating a layer of filings that form the first layer. However, when a certain amount of force is pressed against it, the electric flow reverses and becomes repulsive, pushing away the projectile as well as the filings. The current passed is dependent on the force of the projectile and sometimes the current can go high enough to vaporize the projectile(I did that search. Thanks greedy

). Once it's on standby again, the first layer begins to reform from the attractive forces being generated by the piezoelectric material. Should the first layer run out and the piezoelectric material lose its charge, the middle layer of vectran, which is supposed to act only as a cushion, becomes the main source of protection.

You need a hardened backing plate.

About as heavy as current military body armor or less, so less than <12 kg. OTOH this will be effective against Light I.S. weapon. If you make the part outside hardened plates modular, like floor tiles, it can withstand 2-3 shot before giving up.

Yes, OTOH it'll heal somewhat faster and less painful after that.
