That was possibly the biggest surprise of the season for me - funny, dark and stylish. But a look at the staff reveals experience and talent in character design and series composition, and a very solid cast. There's potential here. Adored the ED by Annabel, too.

Yeah this was really interesting. I kinda admired the MC caring so much for his cat that he'd try to resurrect him, whilst being smart enough to know that he shouldn't try and overdo it. Don't know what to make of the his fetish for zombie girls but at least the story isn't making it out to be anything other than a bizarre fetish played up for comedy. And obviously any zombie girl will actually turn out to be incredibly hot, so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about any frequent squick moments (Borderline necrophilia is still one concern, however...)
And i know it's probably been said a hundred time already but I'd really like to see a crossover between this and Kore wa Zombie Desuka?...

FUNimation licensed this, and it's going to be simulcasted via Nico Nico!

I might say that I have weird feeling about it, somehow necrophilia doesn't seem too appealing to me yet there is something that makes me want to see what's next.
I know that Kore wa Zombie Desuka also has zombie but somehow it feels different there. Just need to wait and see how this plays out.

I still don't know what kind of show I'm watching, and I plan on spending the next week taking special care to not find out before episode 2. All I know is that no matter which way they go with this, the "Watched/Expected/Got"s for this series are going to be epic.

Funimation seems to be getting proactive of licensing new animes. Not that it was a bad thing, it's just good business. First episode! Loved it. I love Rea's voice it suits her really well - cute and innocent.

imo after reading the manga up to date this series feel like a mix between romance and horror, with some light hearted SoL here and there. I was pretty weary about DEEN fkin it up, however it seems pretty good so far.

Judging from what I hear about the manga, I thought this was gonna be trashy, full of fanservice and downright terrible. I didn't expect it to be this. . . GOOD. Very stylish animation and directing (almost SHAFT-like) and this is coming from DEEEEEEEEEEN. I love the OP and ED.
I was only interested because I heard the one handling the music was the guy who also handled Penguindrum and Toradora. Looking at the staff again, they also have the Baccano/Durarara screenwriter and some people from SHAFT. This might just be the surprise hit of the season.

OK not really DEEN bashing going on here. The series production values were nothing to rave about, but they were not awful like many DEEN series, so I guess a plus for that. The thing is a lot of anime these days do the make the first episode look pretty and then a bunch of shit in between it and the last episodes and pretend its higher quality shtick, so the true quality of this series visuals will reveal itself soon enough. Now I am having a ridiculously hard time with the premise of the story here. It's weird, and I get they're playing it for comedy, but it's just too weird. The idea of him having a fetish for moe zombies is too utterly ridiculous, especially for a show with dark undertones and themes underneath the surface. Actually the nonchalant manner in which they presented those darker undertones was too quirky for my own tastes as well. Maybe I'm biased, but zombies and cute are two things that should never mix. I find it fundamentally stupid. This may prevent me from being able to watch this in the end. The voice acting by Maaya Uchida was very grating on my ears. If she spent one more second screaming in that well I would've shut down the episode right then and there. I hope they don't have her yelling anymore in this series. All in all, a very average premiere, though I did like the ED song a lot lol.

Yeah, I didn't know what I watched either as I was staring at the screen for seconds after the episode was over, but I know darn well that I'll be back for second.
