The end was overdramatic but it did work for me. Although I had to watch it twice since I didn't get what was going on the first time round and I thought maybe they were trasporting Onashia and she was going to die.
It was a bit surprising that Aaeru and Neviril are again not flying together, the military chief ordered that or it was just for this time?
And unless the ugly doll of Rodo can teleport on its own to a house, Rimone and Dominura are alive and kicking. After these episodes I suspect that if Chor Tempest reunites again (possibly with Amuria being found, too) it's going to be a very, very emotional scene indeed.

P.S. I haven't mentioned it before for some reason but Vyura is really sexy.

Hi, I am the encoding guy of Simoun-Fans. Sometimes I refer Simoun-Fans as "Animesuki-Simoun-Forum-Subs". Actually, everything started here and most people are here

In page 22, Hashihime did the ep8 script, then futabachan asked, "do we collectively have the skills needed to produce an actual fansub?" I happened to have done the ep5 so I asked for her edit. Later, futabachan got more helps from some folks of yuricon, Lyrical Aura and nae. Hashihime releasing more episodes... that's how it started.

In this place, there is a good tradition of releasing the script first. In fact watching Simoun with the scripts is more than recomendable! (You should have notice that almost everyone is waiting for wowo's translation here)

The script would be further editing, checking and releases many weeks later. I can't compare the translations, but I can say that I love the script that I received.

Yes, I know. It's pretty easy to realize if you check the credits during the episode which I usually watch because I like the OP and ED songs, otherwise I'd probably skip to the start of the episode.

Also Kaoru Chujo's post on the other page pointed me towards wowo's scripts. I had thought most of them were available from the simoun yahoo groups page which is why I didn't initially bother with them(too lazy to register to get some files) and just decided to wait for the simoun-fans releases. I'm currently getting the raws for 16-20 and then I guess I'll wait for Simoun-fans to release 13-15 and try and catch up the series in one big go.

Since they were acting without orders to begin with, it seems to be more of a spontaneous decision. I think it makes sense, though - Neviril/Vyura and Aeru/Yun have both flown together before, so it would probably make for a better overall display than simply throwing the "leftovers" together and expecting them to perform without any rehearsal or practice.

Besides, I love Aeru/Yun as a flying pair, so I'm not going to complain. Kudos to Yun again for cutting to the heart of the issue. "Don't be so surprised. War is nothing more than killing. If you don't like that, get yourself to the Spring straight away."

Yeah, but it's a shame that they probably won't have much time left to spend on her, with the series wrapping up and all. Especially since they spent so much effort already establishing the chemistry between all the other members of the Chor.

I can't believe I forgot they acted without permission. But Neville/Vyura and Aaeru/Yun have flown together only once, IIRC. Aaeru/Neville and Vyura/Yun would probably perform better. Unless Vyura can't fly as Auriga, that is.
But I don't really mind Aaeru/Yun, it's actually kind of a pleasant surprise that the pairing everyone expected to be already established at that stage - Neville/Aaeru is not that certain yet.

I think, potential pairings aside, that they'll grow into people who really can understand each other - The kind of understanding that doesn't need words for expression. You just know. The other person knows. There's no need for talk, for it runs so deep.

Aeru opening up and cracking in that manner somehow felt extremely relieving, in that we get to see that she isn't some complete in/superhuman bulldozer after all.

I think we already knew Aaeru is not superhuman after episode 8 but she became even more human in episode 20.

At least twice for Aeru/Yun. Remember the first time Rodoraemon and Mamiina flew together? Neviril and Aeru split up then as well, rather than simply pair Yun with Morinas.

I'm not so sure. I don't think Aeru/Neviril have really fulfilled their potential as a pair yet. Neviril is almost certainly a better Auriga than Vyura, and both Vyura and Yun are steady Sagittas. If the situation called for a virtuoso solo performance, I'd pick Aeru/Neviril as well (just on pure individual skills), but for formation flying I think the way they did it probably works out best.

You're right, it is refreshing. But Neviril and Aeru had better get on with it soon if their pairing is actually going to mean anything.

So far Simoun has had a very episodic feel to me. There doesn't seem to be any significant main plot, the ongoing conflicts with other countries are more of a background setting for Choir Tempest's internal fits and struggles. I'm starting to lose my interest in this series to be honest.

Apart from that, is it known what the significance is of the pairings and the two different Simoun driver positions? Is one seat for steering and the other for weaponry, or something like that? So far it's been totally unclear to me.

Yes, but both must be one unit (Soul) to fly and control the Simoun, they are riding.

They must match eatch others. Cause of that you see Morinas (Backseat) and Neviril (frontseat) the Simoun not stabel on line. Morinas has littel problems to match her (like with Aeru and i bet with Limoune, too).
