Shadow skill remake???Blonde Elle???

It's 6:15 Central here where i live and i turn to the action channel and what do i see? Shadow Skill!!! But with some differences, the animation look a LOT more like it was made recently, the outfits are a little different, and a BLONDE Elle. That's right I said blonde not red. even some parts of the story are different (Elle doesnt fight that one guy in the tournament, but rather outside a house), and of course it was in English.

I love this series and have been following Onigiri's subs of it....but the one they sub looks like it was made awhile ago. And there are the subtle differences metioned above

My question is...where the heck did this come from? i never heard about it being remade or anything. Anyone know anything?

Shadow Skill OVAs. It is the TV series being subbed by Onigiri that is the remake. The OVAs were made before the TV series, but the animation is a bit better.

Incidently I prefered the TV series to the OVAs. While the animation is better in the original (because they had a larger budget), the remake had a deeper plot and better characterization. It shows that the creator benefited from having more time to think about his concept.

Yeah i think i like the TV series better too and for the same reasons. I also like the red hair from the TV series better because i think the blonde hair makes her look too much like Marlene from Blue Gender.

If I remember correctly I believe there was the ovas, the tv series, a movie and another series which looked cel-shaded.

I'm not too sure if the cel-shaded ones ever came out... are you talking about those?

Well, there were the OVAs, the movie (a compilation of the OVAs), the TV series and the recent CG Shadow skill.

There was/is:

The OVAs - Various stories adapted from the manga, each focus more on one character then the others. The stories covered are The Moon King(I think that's the name of the beast), Gau's first meeting with Scarface and his acceptance of Elle, and the battle between Faury and Elle to settle their unfinished fight from the past. Later, all but the episode about Gau's meeting Scarface and accepting Elle got re-adapted into the television series.

The Movie - Deals with the origins of the Shadow Skills. Elle and Scarface teach Gau about the origins of the Shadow Skills and why they are used in certain ways. The animation was alot better then in the OVAs but the art style in the first OVAs was more true to the manga.

The Television Series - Covers majority of the manga, unlicensed and easy to acquire. Thus I don't need to explain it, instead you can watch it for yourself. =P

CG Shadow Skill - I haven't seen this yet.

My bad.
If my memory serves me right, the recent Shadow Skill was not called "3D" but "2.5D"...no kidding..

post No. 2...

ok, found it.
Yo skreech, is this what you saw? a blond Elle?
Yup, its the new 2.5D Shadow Skill (2D-2.5D-3D... whatever...)

Elle kinda looks like a toy instead of an anime, doesn't it.

Your image doesn't work, odds are it's link protected.
I assume it's an image kinda like this one...

http://www.absoluteanime.com/shadow_skill/ella.jpg <- incase it too is protected.

Just for the sake of saying so, Elle's hair color is actually blonde in the front with a red braid down the back. They changed it in the later OVAs and TV series. For instance, this is the cover of one of the mangas:

The OVA's character designs were slightly more accurate then the TV version's:

I'm hoping Onigiri does it once they finish the television series.

I know one of the group members has the DVD.

I'd just like to take this moment to throw in a plug for the Opera browser. Link protection (stopping a link from off-site) doesn't stop it from getting the image. Yay Opera!

Nyah... Looks kinda RUN=DIM-ish...

Anyway, this is the site: http://www.shadow-skill.jp/. The intro flash animation looks cool and only fuels my desire to see it. On the plus side it seems if you buy the DVD box you also get a copy of the script and the soundtrack free. >.>

Wait, so just to clarify, is there a separate movie or is it just a compilation of the OVAs rereleased?
