I made a tut for the tag I made below V.
I promised myself I'll post it for free if not 1 person buys it every 24 hours.
Still another 9 or so hours to go.

What software you use? If you are using photoshop,

1) double click on the layer in the layer window, then rename it, or just press OK to the popout window.. This unlock the background layer. Layer window is default to bottom right of photoshop.
2) find the magic wand tool in the tool window.. Or you can just press W on your keyboard
3) Click on the area you want to remove.. In you case, just click on the huge blue exterior.. DONT MISS!
4) Press delete.. then press Ctrl+D to unselect your selection.
5) go to Image->Trim press OK to popout window ^^
6) Save as png or gif format since you have a curve border.. jpg cant handle transparent corners.

Problem with ImageReady. This has been happening for quite a while now, and it's probably easy to fix, but I just can't seem to find it.
When I import frames to make avatars, they're all out of order. It goes 1, 10-19 then 2, 20-29 etc. I'm guessing I just need to change some settings, but I can't seem to find them.
Anyway heres an example of what I meant:

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I assume you have extracted the images from VirtualDub? I had this problem once. To solve it enter "3" or "4" under the option "Minimum number of digits in name" in VirtualDub. This will make "1.tga" into "001.tga" or "0001.tga" and won't screw up the order in ImageReady.

Yes. For example, to get the animation window, which isn't provided by default simply go Window > Animation. etc.

Importing frames is a little tricky as I remember it, somewhere in File > Scripts should be the trick.
I believe there is already a tutorial on this.

^I wrote that first tutorial about how to use CS3 for animated avatars but it was very ad hoc... Since people have been asking this a lot lately so here's a new one

Animated Avatars in CS3

1. This is assuming you followed the orignal animated avatar tutorial here up to the point where you need to use imageready...
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=642

2. Having that folder ready with the images, you open up up CS3 and go to File>Scripts>Load Files Into Stack

3. Under where it says Use, choose "folder" from menu.

4. Click browse and select the folder and click ok...

5. The frame files are loaded as layers as seen on the right, how long it takes deepnds on how many frames you have; you need to wait until it finishes.

6. open the animation pallate (it's not open by default) by going Window>Animation

*The CS3 Animation pallet has two views, timeline and frame view, if it is on timeline view switch it to frame view by the using bottom right button...

Timeline View

7. Now click the tab shown to open the menu and click "make frames from layers"

8. It now looks and works pretty much like imageready did... Refer back to the other tutorial for using this.

*Sometimes, the frames may load in backwards... (meaning the first frame you see in the frame window is the last frame of the scene) In the same menu where you did make frames from layers, above it there is an option to reverse frames, which fixes this.

9. Another thing that has changed in CS3 is the "save for web" which is now called "save for web and devices" under the File menu

nah Shana's not hopeless

Maybe I didn't make it that clear but you do Not use timeline view, if it's on timeline view like that in my second image, clicking the button I circled will change it over to frame view which is what you should do. (Pressing it again will change it back to timeline again).

Frame view should have a tab that says "Animation (frames)" like that in the third image

One thing to remeber is that it won't let you switch views at all unless you have images loaded first. So open up an image before doing it.

Oh, I just drew the lines on a seperate layer. They are not nessasary, but they help you judge the center points when you perform the transformation, that's all.
