Anyway, with how quick that episode was I thought that did wrap up their story, I couldn't tell from the preview because all the characters have the same two faces and it keeps throwing me off. >.> By the way, how many couples are there in the story? I see at least one guy in the OP who hasn't appeared yet (the one with the ear piercings) but again, everyone looks the same to be so I'm starting to get a bit confused.

There's definitely a sameness to the character designs. It took me a couple of views to realize that there was more than 1 couple in the OP. I don't remember this being such a problem with Junjou Romantica, so I'm a little surprised about it here.

The scene actually has Chiaki asking Tori about the misunderstanding (i.e: "Are you a homo?") and Tori just snapped -as in, he thought his feeling was busted while Chiaki thought Tori likes Yanagise- and started to erm, assault Chiaki. It does end up in a pretty non-con situation (on the surface-level-meaning).

Though as you guessed, it's pretty hard to be completely angry at Tori in that scene since Yuukyan made the last line (read: confession) more obvious that Tori is so pained by his own action It's like, you know, last desperation effort after busted thing. Or so that's how I interpreted it when I read it from the first time.

I seriously don't understand why they cut the confession part out since this would make it more obvious why Tori later said that Chiaki should has known about his feeling

I guess I should be happy though that they kept the shoujo manga cliche main fluff and lol misunderstanding intact! I'll just say that "OH LORD SO KYUT *A*" now and hope that the pacing for the couple portion will improve ('3') Hey, they put a lot of smiles on my face that I look like a fool in front of my computer~ Yeah, I'm biased to them.

... Oh and I totally forgot that Kamiyan was voicing Yanagise up until I watched the episode.

@Wandering-dreamer: There are 3 couples for this series. Can't say anything anymore other than the guy with ear piercing hasn't appeared. :3

Thanks a lot for the precisions! It does make much more sense like this, and I'm sort of mad that the anime took this kind of liberties. As you said, here's hoping the pacing issue is fixed next week because I'd hate for this storyline to keep being that rushed. Though it'll still push my fangirl switch either way...

I thought episode 5 was absolutely beautiful. While it may have been rushed in comparison to the source, I'm actually very relieved that we didn't have any of the ongoing inhibition and reluctance that we do with the first couple.

Yeah, I'd personally prefer it if both sides of the relationship were a bit more comfortable with their sexuality; especially with what happened in the prologue for the first couple, I don't buy that one of them would be going on about "but you're a guy..."

Wait, that whole episode was actually the plot of the story the manga-ka was working on? I thought they just used scenes of them working on the story in the cafe as "bookends" to the episode, little scared to ask the manga readers know what's correct.

It's one thing that made me go actually, since I didn't think they will rush over half of the whole first novel. ;-; (Compare to Ritsu's portion--4 episodes for one volume of the manga) Even though imo the novel content is pretty... 薄い, plotwise, I never thought they will just pack them all in one episode, and with weird cuts plus really fast pace. orz

Gah, I think I'm borderline ranting here, especially since I set the expectation too high for my most favourite couple this time!

Hey, this sort of pacing is tons better! The animation took a hit instead, but I guess I can't get mad at a BL TV series for that, can I?

Okay, so maybe the development has been pretty damn cliché, but I'm still having so much fun with this pairing. Grinning like an idiot throughout the whole episode - to say nothing of the end. Guys kissing and actually in love with each other instead of resisting, hurray!

Oh, and: "Could it be that you're A?!?!" The assistants were a real blast.

That was pretty funny and meta when the assistants got into the speculation and actually, considering Tori and Yuu like him he might be "A" after all...
And huzzah for asking THEN kissing! I want to see pretty boys kiss each other because they like each other, not just to get all the fujoshi riled up. And that felt like a good place to stop with the second couple, although I bet if the anime goes on for a second season we'll return to them, wonder how things have been going with Ritsu since the last time the show focused on them...

Am I the only one impressed at how fast Ritsu reads off all those manga facts during the preview each week? I'm so busy reading the subtitles I almost don't see the preview is actually about, if it's a distraction method then it's pretty darn successful.

It is impressive. I must admit though that I try to ignore the subtitles and focus on the images because I really do want a hint of what's coming next week. Sometime, I should go back and focus solely on the subtitles to find out what he says. I suspect I'll need to pause the video now & then because my speed-reading isn't what it used to be.

I can't believe I'm saying it, but this was amazing! The protagonist actually thought about his emotions for both of them and understood they were different, went dere-dere and put his attention on Yuu to make Tori jealous and then accepted his love in the end.
This is far better than any straight romantic anime I've seen in the last years, FFS! And for the first time in my life I remember the names of the characters...

Back to main couple next week, not that excited about it. Somehow the mains lost my interest by now. Want to see the third coupling!

Ep 6 was sweeter. I like how there was a bit more honesty and less forcefulness. I thought both couples were going a bit too fast in the beginning but maybe it's just me.

Riichan, you shouldn't even get worked up seeing Takano with a woman. Seriously, the way he touches your **** is already enough proof he's a homo and won't even be interested on women...

Enjoyed this episode as usual, nice to see the main pairing back. Can't wait for the third pair next week, it had my favorite naughty line from the manga and I hope it won't get cut off.

Episode 7 reinforced my revulsion at the labor practices in the Manga industry. Those corporate jobs that force you to basically do their projects 24/7, go to business dinners when you leave the office and stay up until 3am every night working on files are disgusting. Rit should have stayed at the family company if they gave him better conditions and a strict 9-5 schedule.

I guess it's understandable, but this is clearly the least watched good anime of the year. Actual characters with actual thoughts and feelings. With nice insights into the manga industry. And how could anyone of any gender or real-life preference not get turned on by at least one scene in ep6?

I agree with velderia in liking it when there is more honesty and less forcefulness. Quite moving, really. I'm glad there is less of the actual violence here that I have seen in other BL shows.

If I have a complaint, it's constantly overexcited Ritsu. I've like Kondou Takashi in other roles, but not much here. Ritsu's journey is still pretty engaging, however.

Episode 8 - I can't believe Kisa is 30, either.

Great episode overall. Kisa always seemed so happy-go-lucky in the earlier episodes, so seeing his thought process being a bit like Ritsu's made me a little surprised.

Apparantly everyone on the Emerald team is now confirmed gay except for Mino.
