Well it would give them a lot more time to show Teru's teams' skill and abilities given how long the the last match was in the original Saki .

Also it's not like the Saki anime hasn't done anything anime-original before. The entirely of the Individuals for example, was just glossed upon in the manga, but was expanded to three-odd episodes in the anime.

At the current rate the main story line is progressing, it will be 3-4 years before it reaches the end of the finals, so there is plenty of time for another season of Achiga.

But the Achiga manga is released at the same rate as mainline Saki: a chapter a month. Granted, they're very THICK chapters (30-60 pages), but it's still monthly.

From my understanding combine with what was given here if I'm not mistaken, it takes about one or two episodes of Achiga anime to cover one chapter of manga, and each chapter of Achiga comes out monthly. Storywise, anime is only few chapters away from the manga and might be catching up soon by the time anime finished airing and leaving a large cliffhanger.

With this, I don't think we will be having Achiga s2 anime, rather a more reasonable speculation would be a monthly release of OVA or webcast by which anime will be only one chapter behind the manga in terms of pacing. How does that sound?

Covering what? Achiga cannot go into the Final round with this 2nd season. I'd rather wait.

Yep. Could do plenty of OVAs here. Given the huge number of brackets -- that means so many characters to work with. Can pretty much go over how they got into Nationals. Hell... how about some more individual competitions?

My favorite line in this entire series so far:

I think what many of us would want most would be a two-season Achiga that takes its sweet time with the setup phase - training, Bansei, etc. Why this was not meant to be I do not know. Then again, I won't be complaining if we get more of Saki in any form.

I'm cool with a Saki Achiga-hen sequel, as long as...

1) We eventually get a sequel to the original Saki anime (i.e. a Saki anime focusing on Team Kiyosumi and seen primarily from their perspective).

2) The Finals of the Nationals are featured in that sequel to the original Saki anime.

Under these circumstances, a Saki Achigan-hen sequel would simply mean more Saki "universe" content, and that's a big positive, imo. It would probably be worth the cost of having to wait longer for the long-awaited Saki vs. Teru match.

But I won't lie - I'm really starting to wonder if we might be seeing a permanent "main protagonist cast" switch. If that's the case, I won't be very happy about that.

At this point, I do like the Achiga-hen girls, and I'm emotionally invested in them, but my favorites are still Team Kiyosumi.

It would be an entire season for the semi finals match you know. At the pace they are going right now it's certainly feasible

How can they make an Achiga-hen sequel if the main Saki manga didn't even get to the semifinal yet? It would be weird to have the spin-off manga show the final match of the Nationals before the main manga.
Why is Ritz so slow?

I think the side story will stop at the end of the Block A semifinal and then merge with the main manga. But it's not impossible that the two authors want to show the final match from different perspectives (assuming that Achiga qualifies for the final, that is).

As for the anime, I have no idea about what they intend to do. Since the Achiga-hen manga is still stuck in the first round of the semifinal, they either go with an anime-original ending or they just leave the match unfinished (which would majorly suck ).

This, I would approve.

It has to.

'cause seriously. The Finals cannot be shown until Kiyosumi is brought through the B-side.

Ritz is the author to both Achiga and Saki, she just doesn't draw Achiga .

It will take the last part of the first 2 split cour to settle the one and only match. Guess what match is it?(Hint: Big Reflector "Bits", can carry only 3 bits.)

Soon. There will be Saki Sunday.

In the meantime, here's one of those... pillows...

Spoiler for VERY NSFW:

And this may partially explain Ako's current Internet reputation...

Actually, I think those exist because of Ako's reputation, not the other way around.

I wonder why no one has posted the price list for the Saki/Saki Achiga-hen themed drinks? Because I found the fact that in that one, Ako has the lowest price (500 yen if I remember right to Kuro and Shizuno's 550, and Yuu's 700)...
