Proposal: AnimeSuki Chrome Extension

I've created an extension that checks the AnimeSuki RSS feed (http://animesuki.com/rss.php) at a set interval and highlights new items and sets the counter on the icon to show the number of new items as well:



I have two questions:

1. Would this extension be helpful to people?
2. What is an interval that is optimal for users and the server? Currently I've set it to 15 minutes.

I haven't uploaded it anywhere because I want to ensure it doesn't negatively impact AnimeSuki in any way (especially server load).
