David Prod's choice of ED for Stardust Crusaders was... unexpected. Anonymous was totally banking on Holy Diver by Dio, I would have liked Get Back by the Beatles and expected Roundabout again. We got something else.
I'll just say that the song just blend beautifully with the visuals. ED of the Year imo. edit: video added Spoiler:

Jojo StarDust Crusade 03 done.
Good episode, the first two episodes was fine, but I didn't feel it as much, it was "just as expected" of Jojo. 03 was good though, really felt some bam and wham of it. Poor Holly, being a woman, she's not strong enough to control her stand.. Still weird though, she seems mentally strong and has fighting spirit even if she's not physically strong like the other jojos..don't see why she wouldn't be able to control her stand if its a mental battle. And she was aware of the stand too...so don't see the problem. Oh well, story reason. Great toothbrush scene. Great panties scene. The fly scene cracked me up with how Jotaro's stand draws it and Joseph is like "so what a fly" And then dramatic cut and yelling declaration by the egyptian "I KNOW THIS FLY"

I'm disappointed by the ending. I think it's too slow and doesn't segue well from the action.
They missed an enormous opportunity to use Rainbow's Stargazer (sung by Dio). There's so many ways to edit that song into an amazing ending. Even just unedited, check out how amazingly well it syncs (listen to a few OP playthroughs, Stargazer is a LONG song) Mute left video immediately: http://youtubedoubler.com/cdUp |

Kakyoin gets to join Jotaro's side.
Now that he got saved, it's pretty much a done deal. Jotaro's mom is a total airhead *facepalm* Who knew she'd get to have a Stand too. Did not expect that. Holly and her dad sure have a weird relationship. At least now they're motivated to find Dio quickly.

Roundabout's theme was the mask and I don't think it would work with this adventure. I like the "new" song though.
Joseph is always hilarious and seeing him throw out dat Hamon strike was nostalgic. Spoiler for part 2:

Just saw episode 3
1. Dio is into tentacle play? Makes sense. 2. Is it just me or is Holly hot... just saying. 3. Dat explanation. 4. Dat doting father. 5. Dat drawing skills. 6. Dat pose at the end. 7. Love the ed song and video. Why does everytime I watch this I want to punch something and do a pose?, for no reason. MANLIEST. SHOW. EVER.

She is forty-five year old as repeatedly said. Also, I think it helped that Abdul was commenting out loud, keeping the tradition from Speed Wagon.
The pair shows good cooperation especially when cheating is involved-Already eager to see their twin poker faces. Joseph had his fit of outrage as he did after fighting against Straizo while Jotaro kept his cool. Also, Joseph is keeping his old comedy role since the second part of the series-wonder if the French is going to steal the show later or they will begin to cooperate in this area. The original parts contrast each characters, build-up of their relationship well although, at times, I feel Kobayashi overdoing it. |
