Evangelion Re-Take
Quote:
Synopsis After the events of the Third Impact, Shinji inexplicably finds himself back in the past before all things went awry. Given a chance to rewrite history, would he succeed in leading the world to a better future, or is the fall of humanity truly inevitable with his failure? Or is he merely drifting between dream worlds and reality once again? We have all seen their descent into madness with the anime series and the OVA. This time, the entire cast is shown in a different light with the glimmer of hope for salvation. Witness the metamorphosis as familiar characters evolve and eventually transcend their original selves. 90° and 180° plot twists are abound yet all of them smoothly fall into place with none of the events or changes appearing absurd or unlikely. Like countless other fans of the original series, Studio Kimigabuchi have asked the question "What if... ?" but they took it to the next level with Evangelion Re-Take by providing satisfactory and plausible answers along with gorgeous artwork which is faithful to the original version. Download links may be found here at jcafe. Alternatively, the images are available for online reading at manga.podzone.net. Quoted comments were taken from Baka-Updates Manga. *waiting for a decent discussion*

Wow, I never heard about this. And I'm a big fan of Evangelion, how come I didn't hear about this? It looks very good, I can only find good comments about this, so this Evangelion RE-TAKE has been completely translated but RE-TAKE After has not been finished yet, right? I'm going to download it. =)

2) It's nsfw. This will be one of the few times which I'll say this seriously: It's not porn, it's ART. Unfortunately, using the same line to explain yourself to your colleagues will probably just raise a few eyebrows. Quote:
Anyway, chapter 00 is a prequel/preview and some might find that somewhat confusing since it shows scenes from 01-04. Some might prefer jumping straight to chapter 1 instead.

Other notable sites:
another site for online viewing Kurogane's Anime Blog Sidenote: Has anybody here tried the OST yet? For some reason, it reminds me of the Saikano OVA OST. The two are somewhat similar in mood but Re-Take doesn't sound as "saturated", imo.

For the futher notices - the order you should read Re-Take is:
Re-Take 1 Re-Take 2 Re-Take 3 Re-Take 0 Re-Take 4 Re-Take After Its a really good doujin, even if you dont like A/S you should still try this doujin because it is as good as Sadamoto's manga in some aspects (at least Re-Take's Asuka is portrayed as a charcter with some depth instead of Sadamoto's blond bimbo Asuka). |

It has nothing to do with New Evangelion movies in 2007-2008. First movie will hit Japan very soon. Now, as far as I know, Gainex stated that it will hit Japan in Summer of 2007. So, it is very close. But, I worried that this new eva movie does not have any Preview or trailer going around, so I think Gainex might push it back to late 2007. |

The way I interpreted the ending was that
Spoiler:
Great doujin by the way. It does a fabulous job of expanding on the original story and wrapping it up satisfactorily. I must say though that I did enjoy how the original TV series and End of Evangelion ended as well. This doujin is a nice one that hangs on to that EoE ending, but also satisfies those disappointed Eva viewers who are looking for that more "happy ending."
