i will repeat my post in other thread here:

finally fuuka did something in this serie than being just a "side character supposed to be mc and now come the moment where the rinne bitch will redem and magically change to a better person in one second. well while i really liked the battle here, the reason and messing with rinne is really something hard to cop up and my big hate concern is really her coach, i really don't get where someone posted about her "being a good person", if something this episode showed is which she is just broken as "rinne" in being a weird and selfish person and she also need some professional help to learn to deal with personnal problems, she definility is a terrible coach, she is not supposed to do what she did with rinne no matter how you look, putting all her pressure and remorse over not being a champ in rinne and not helping her with her own issues, she did everything wrong here.

Somehow it just seemed fitting that most of this episode focused in on Rinne and Jill. Fuka was technically there and doing things...and technically won at the end of the day. But mostly since I don't think they have time to show Fuka vs Einhart in the tournament and then Rinne vs Einhart. So better to simply have Fuka win and let that be that.
Fuka was an important catalyst, but in the end it came down to Rinne figuring things out herself. It was important for Fuka to do enough damage for Rinne to momentarily blank out. But then it was her body and mind that took care of the rest. The joy of delivering an utterly perfect and powerful strike helped put Rinne on another track . And in all honesty....that punch should have ended it. You can train the body and durability...but you can't reinforce your brain. A hit that hard in such a critical spot frankly should have put Fuka into a hospital. And yes Jill...in a lot of ways you screwed up. Started out by misreading Rinne's issues. Then once she started to realize the depth of the problem...she refused to do anything about it. After all Rinne might quit and Jill wouldn't be able to live vicariously through Rinne. Oh well...at least she's learned from all this. Would be interesting to see how a fight in a year would go between these two. Fuka having even more crazy techniques she steals and Rinne being able to properly use the skills she's been taught to their maximum potential.

That was a pretty good fight in general if you count both parts. I did find the transition between the flashback scenes and the present to be a bit repetitive though since we've learned so much about Rinne already from one of the previous episodes.
Either way, grats to Fuuka on winning. I think both girls gave their best in that fight in the end.

Ohh boy. As it is I feel of somebody were to recut this and rearange some of these scenes and cut out some of the unnecessary violence this could have been a much better show. For me at least. This is all personal highly subjective opinion.
A lot of these flashbacks should have been shown a lot earlier in order to help garner even more sympathy for Rinne to offset hate that she gets for acting like an out of control violence machine that does not defeat but break her opponents, which was not helped by the BRILLIANT decision NOT to use any protection during the tournament. I would really love to give a piece of my mind to the bloody idiot "that" thought that was a great idea. These flashbacks that explain excatly why Rinne wanted the belt and how she felt about fighting do a LOT more for my sympathy to her than the last 10 episodes during which she might as well have been the MC. But now, while objectivelly I see greatness here most of my positive thoughts has been sucked dry by the previous pessimistic thoughts of mine. Yeah Jill is like the WORST possible coach. She also seems to have broken Nanoha's rule about not pushing her charge. If the person that you are training is womiting half the time that means you are doing it wrong and you could EASILY break their body before any matches. Good thing for her that Nanoha is unlikely ever to find out about this* or [insert favourite hothead/violent Nanoha scene here]. While I still subjectively don't like Rinne, see my previous thoughts on why, she kind of should have won this one. Also Fuka's last attack was kind of pathetic compared to Rinne's strike. In general the show has suffered from trouble of showing the fighting in a manner where you could easily figure out what is going on and how strong is the strike and why it's strong. That is why they had to add that entire collage of Vivid characters to act as narrators. And that is not good since you should allways endeavor to SHOW not TELL. Also that last thought of Rinne's about how Fuka's attack hurt more because Fuka is filled with love/friendship and whatever I did not understand it. Are they trying to allude that Rinne finds Fuka's blow hard to shrug off because Fuka is her friend OR it's trying to allude to the fact that unlike Rinne Fuka has other people supporting her. * since she was basically written out of her show |

We are talking two different things. One is Rinne's comment on why Fuka's hits hurt so much more than expected. There she attributs it to Fuka's "friendship power" which BTW was not really a thing in Nanoha up until this point. Sure it was great to have friends to bail you out, but it did not make your attacks more powerful.
Another was my comment that that last attack was a bit weak compared to the power of Rinne's last attack. And yes I know it's that knuckle or something attack of Ein's. It's just that after that decking by Rinne I kind of expected Fuka's finisher to be a bit more elaborate. It's like in Season one that after Fate hit nanoha with her finisher she blew Fate away with a powerfull but simple Buster. |

If rinne instead of turned in a brainless brutal machine and had all that issues and a pretty crap coacher have the same experience and coachers like fuuka then she could easy won over her. rinne fault was a mix of personnal issues plus a terrible coach(jill), which think is fine her fighter be "screwed" in mind and which all her need is be lusting for victory and nothing more since she herself(jill) is a "bad looser" and think which she can use others to achiev what she could not herlsef.

7 arts really seem to have been abusing that trick where they show fast movement as only splashes of water. I bet they were happy they could use that since those things hardly need any animation. Really cutting corners there in style.
It did make combat sometimes confusing. |

BD? I don't remember a part of franchise with that acronym.
Considering that any S2 will end before the library arc I don't think it's going to be an anjoyable expirience to people who have not read Vivid. @Nvis IMO they have been having trouble visually presenting what is going on in the fights, especially since they no longer call attacks or use visible barriers and shields or HP. That is why they had to resort to telling rather than showing by abusing the commentator system. So it's hardly surprising why things are unclear. |
