No, he kinda gets it. But he decided that the best thing for Aira would be for him to be the bad guy so that everyone around would blame him and pity her.

Aira constantly acts like a victim so Kyle assumes any girl around her is trying to bully her and ends up isolating her.

Rather than saying that Kyle "doesn't listen to her" it's more "she doesn't tell him anything".

I mean, Kyle is certainly not a great guy but he's not so terrible that he would ignore anything she says.
She isn't acting like a victim at all. She is acting like someone who is naturally shy, which he alludes to herself.
Let's also not forget that she is still Japanese, everyone around her on the other hand seems to look European.

So let's sum it up

-Naturally shy
- Only foreigners around her
- The only other Japanese nearby isn't allowed to talk to her
- She can't make friends at all, even if she tries as Kyle and his goons always get in between.

Yeah certainly a victim... But not if she is behaving like that but because she is actually Kyle's victim...

He still doesn't get it though, and only makes it harder for Aira to adjust, or even make friends.
I don't even want to know how he'd react if Aira tried to make friends with Sei.

The Forbidden Collection sure is kept under lock and key, I guess because some of the information in there is really dangerous in the wrong hands. Good thing Sei isn't out to kill anyone .

Yuri is still kind of creepy, and doesn't really understand personal space, but he's definitely good to have around in a fight with his strong spellcasting .

Jude! Feels like it's been a while since we last saw him .

I love how not only did Sei get inspiration for applying her magic through video games, but not only did she own a PS4, but a Switch too .

Yui Ishikawa saying "Jee-Zus" was so random, yet funny .

I don't know if it's sad that Sei is starting to forget her old world or that it meant so little to her by the time she was taken that she could feel so much more strongly for her new world. It's probably the complete opposite for Aira. But thinking about all the bonds and people she's come to care for in this new world seems to have revealed strong emotions as the source for the Saint's strongest magic, "Saintly conjury" .

Well, it's finally time for Sei to go out into the field. It seemed inevitable, but at least Sei has found the resolve to go out there to protect people .

Of course it does offer Sei and Hawke plenty of time together, with Yuri along as the third wheel .

Sei finally encounters the miasma and actual monsters, which are as much of a threat as they've been made out to be as this shifts from a slice of life romance to an action fantasy show as Yuri and Hawke battle monster wolves and a ferocious Salamander .

Hawke made an excellent call with that enchanted hair ornament, as it protects Sei at the exact right moment! He was less safe, but Sei seeing him in danger was enough to awaken her Saint magic and completely dispel the Miasma and monsters, showing just how strong her feelings for Hawke are and her power as the Saint. There's no denying her as the Saint now .

It feels like, if they really wanted to keep her safe, they should at least have surrounded her instead of relying entirely on the reflexes of the commanders to intercept the monsters.

Well, Sei, without a doubt, just proved that she is the Saint. RIP crown prince Kyle. I hope your rebel days ahead will be eventful when the new crown prince takes over and infighting begins.

Frankly, Kyle isn't just pretending to be foolish, he actually is.
Despite knowing that he is most likely wrong, he keeps insisting Aria is the Saint for her sake.

Ok.. But the same argument he makes for doing that for Aria (i.e. being unable to return and so on) also applies to Sei, so him keeping to ignore her even after seeing how foolish he was only adds insult to injury and shows that he hasn't learned a thing.

He actually reminds me of another crown prince in another series, Gate. In that series, the crown prince thought he was so great and thinks that he is only pretending to be a fool, but in reality, he was a real fool. In that series, it lead to an eventual conflict between him and the next crown princess.

I'm sure Aira will be portrayed as a victim in all of this, so let's see how the eventual conflict will turn out. I do wonder how strong and fast Sei's skills would have been if she had proper training for everything like Aira did.

I only remember him vaguely, Pina was the far more memorable character here, which is probably due to her name.

You'd think the best thing for both would just be for the prince to accept reality. Also you'd think he would have realized that a person all alone in a foreign world may benefit from the company of their only compatriot. Well, at least we know it can't go on much longer. After her show in the western woods, ain't no way they're keeping the fact she's the saint under wraps now.

Funny, I just rewatched that a few nights ago. Yea, the prince is an idiot. You'd think after seeing the slaughter at Alnus and the stuff that keeps happening since then, you'd realize you are way overmatched and sue for peace so you can retain as much of the lifestyle you enjoyed previously.

Hehe no doubt. It'd have been funny if the first time she was introduced if one of the recon squad people heard the name and did that funny try-not-to-laugh that Shizu did in Tensei Slime when Rimuru did the "I'm not a bad slime!" joke, lol. She may have a weird name, but she's smokin hot. Especially when her hair is down. Yes I like Pina Co Lada; she looks like she was caught in the rain

Episode 9:
Huh. That was an unexpectedly wholesome wrap-up for the whole Prince / Aria arc.

I guess it is not that type of show. They are trying to draw sympathy for the prince, but nah, I'm not buying it. He is still an idiot. I'm just glad that he finally admitted that Sei is the Saint. Still, not cool publicly insulting Sei and about to assault her. He is an idiot after all.

Yuri is now even more enamored with Sei's magic after witnessing her as the Saint, but thankfully Hawke is there to keep him in check this time around .

Sei may be a little bothered by all the attention people are showing her as the Saint, but that Saint pout was absolutely adorable .

Even if he was just acting the part of a fool to make people think he was a bad guy so Aira would be seen as the victim of his arrogance...Kyle is still kind of a grade-A jerk. Liz is genuinely trying to help Aira and he dismisses her, his fiance, as just another jealous woman trying to get Aira away from him. And then when he sees Sei again he acts like he has no idea who she is and that she's the impostor. Even if it was intentional, the dude came off super unlikable .

And that he had the gall to try and put his hands on Sei...good thing Hawke was there to grab him, and even Yuri was useful in bringing the king in to give his son the dressing down he rightfully deserves for taking responsibility of the mess he caused .

Although it does seem like, in-spite of how he acted towards her, there is some care between Kyle and Liz when you see how she looks at him and how she (and his father) were able to see through his bluster and know what he's really like. Kyle also apparently hasn't called her "Liz" in a long time, so I'm guessing they're childhood friends that became out of touch with Kyle's obligations as prince? Not really sure how to feel about this relationship .

Aira and Sei finally get to talk! Liz sure has a habit of befriending Japanese women stuck in another world, but it does offer the chance for Aira to finally have genuine friends who are willing to support her and let her do what she wants to do .

Sei is the Saint now and that gives her the chance to travel on her own terms to where she's needed, and to a town that might be able to offer her even more opportunities to make herbs and medicine...as well as spend quality time with Hawke .

I would call him someone who pretends to be even more foolish then he are.

He is also a good example of why fools should not conspire, even when the goals are for others good.

It was mostly just a lot of nonsense for no reason as Aria is not someone who will get kicked out on the steet anyway being most likely the future strongest mage around. It would perhaps been a problem if Sei had not been around, but now Aria is more like a nice bonus that came along with the Saint.

I can't help but think that Sei and Hawke are on their honeymoon with the way they act around each other and look so cute together .

Hawke seems o utterly enraptured every time he looks at Sei, but he would be remiss not to mention how great she looks in her Saintly robes. It's so effective that Sei is too flustered to return the compliment .

We finally meet the last new major character from the Opening, Leonardt, who has has gigantic arms and sounds like he's voiced by Saotshi Hino (?). He seems like a clumsy, but good-hearted, mercenary .

Sei gets some good herbal training in, but what really makes an impact is reading the diary of a previous Saint who used her desire to save her beloved brother to unlock her powers, just like Sei's feelings for Hawke always unlock her powers .

Of course what drives Sei to use all her magic is learning Hawke might be in danger and then seeing him wounded, which leads to a burst of magic that heals everyone. That's one way of expressing your passionate love .

The Saint's Power is love itself, and Sei's love for Hawke helps her unlock her powers, and it seems like she's finally realized that herself .

i hope her position as saint an give her some power on who she chooses to be with as some noble would love to be betrothed to her... a mere protective knight doesnt have enough clout to surpass the noble rights.

See it from this angle:
They always run the risk of her refusing to cooperate.
Being a Knight and being a noble doesn't necessarily exclude the other btw. By all we know, he could very well be the heir to a noble house.

So the Saint's Blessing is literally the "Power of Love". LOL

I'm really just enjoying this series. I hope that Sei can now use her powers more consistently. I do wonder what the current problem of the domain is where they desperately need her blessing powers to save it. Also, I wonder how many blessings can she do before she runs out of mana? Can she even run out of mana? I would like to see her learn some offensive magic, but I guess her blessing powers is an area affect mass wipe-out of the current major enemy.

Also, this series seems to mostly have great people in it, besides the idiot prince and his henchmen. However, even though those people seem all polite, you can see they are scheming once Sei leaves the room. So in a sense, they are mostly nice people on the outside, but we don't know their true intentions as they are complex individuals. Also, they are all probably really nice to Sei because they understand that they need her more than she needs them.

true enough that they run the risk she refuses to cooperate. the nobility usually has some form of corruption for power and nepotism. she seems to be around some kind and decent people of rank but theres still a chance a bad apple could try and upset that dynamic. the idiot prince arc showed that some nobles can have their own plans and methods. i hope there wont be any bad apples to get between her and Hawke.

he might very well be someone more than just a knight or a heir. that remains to be discovered but it would work out well for her if its true. if her betrothed isnt him and she pushes back, i hope they bend to her desires. i dont care much for a game of thrones style noble conflict.
