Lol, double date this week. That was a rather amusing development..
I have to admit, Tendou and Amano had some cute chemistry this episode and it's like they are kids at a candy store at that amusement park. Somehow, the Hoshinomori sisters also gets involved and I find their presence to be rather amusing as well, especially Konoha. It didn't surprise me that they still had game elements added into this episode taking place outdoors. The dungeon exploring, HP bar gimmicks, etc. Chiaki really seemed more timid compared to some of the other episodes. Ending was kinda adorable as it celebrates the fun they had. I think it was obvious that Konoha was trying to set her sister up with Amano.

Chiaki's sister was seriously interfering this week. I wasn't so offended by Uehara's support for Chiaki as some posters, since he didn't do anything about it, but the sister really was a villain from the Amano x Tendou perspective. Chiaki was even trying to impersonate a villain with her 'one day I'll seduce him' spiel, but she seems to have bowed to the status quo.
Amano and Tendou really deserve a kiss after all that. Or they would have done, if Amano hadn't spouted that daft Sket Dance 'I love you, and you, and you...' line, like the classic harem lead who can't get a clue that this girl wants his body. It's been a great theme of the series that a kind person is kind to everyone, not just fixated on their crush as in a stereotypical romance or VN. However, is sounded fearfully wishy-washy and immature for Amano to put his feelings for Tendou on the same level as the others. He should certainly be kind to others, especially if they're in trouble, but he's not going out with anyone but Tendou, he has to learn to prioritise her. |

Well, it certainly looked like a last episode. Alas, it was mostly more of the same, cute idiots doing cute idiotic things. Even more than in real life, I mean. But at least the couples were pretty clear despite the intermezzo with Chiaki. Yes, helping people is more important to Keita than having a girlfriend, but that's one of the things Karen likes about him, so it seems not to be a problem.
We never heard from the Gamers club again, which seems a waste. I can only assume that the anime was drawing on a larger source material and ran out of space, but it still seems poorly organized if you ask me. Still, a fun ride mostly. |

It really took something for someone to quickly rise above Uehara on my frustration list. But yeah, Konoha absolutely put herself up there. I can completely understand supporting her sister in general. But have to wonder if she isn't just letting her own dislike of Karen fuel her desire to ruin her relationship and helping her sister is just a bonus. I don't mind the idea of her trying to help Chiaki accept her feelings. But going much further than that I just can't respect.
Regardless of her motivations, these people have enough problems without her stirring things up. I'm not sure if it can be called a pro for the show, but these people generally create their own hardships. It feels worse when basically a third party steps in intending to cause trouble and it doesn't just happen on its own. Seriously these people could have easily caused chaos with that double date without any help whatsoever. Oh well. At least the standard couples seem to be doing alright at this stage. Though I'm sure Uehara will find a way to mess things up for himself sooner or later .

...Wow. and I thought no one could top Uehara when it comes to meddling in things not his business. Konoha, another one with good intentions but poor executions.
...Though part of me wonders if her desire to break up Karen and Keita really was for her sister. It feels like she just wants Karen for herself.

The sad truth is, there's only one healthy relationship among this madcap group and Uehara and Karen had it figured out in the first minute of the episode. But I'm not so naive as to think there's a chance in hell the series is going for that ending.

Wtf was that 2nd half. This show has never made me frustrated before and now it has.
What konoha did was just so anti-social. Literally the worst. Edit: Just got word that this episode is 80% original. woo. Its okay for me to trash this episode. Last edited by IceHism; 2017-09-22 at 01:04. |

Konoha just really brought this episode down as a whole. She pretty much existed to prevent any of these couples from actually resolving their problems.
Everything about the ending of this episode pretty much screamed "this is the end of this season, either read the light novels or support us for a season 2", so it's a little surprising when you realize that we still have one episode left.

Dismissing this anime as just a "light novel ad" is rather rude. I don't think this as a simple by-the-numbers adaptation and think that they put a lot of effort with various things. Like the gaming references or reaction shots.

You're supposed to think the anime is like Nana Maru San Batsu. About a boring loner being dragged by a cute girl into an exciting club with distinctive characters. And then BAAM! He rejects the club because he likes being by himself, and then the cute girl turns into a stalker-with-a-crush. Looking the light novel illustrations though, it looks like they do make an appearance later on. I suspect mostly because the author was running out of content. Quote:

wow Konoha... that is a really bad attitude there
I never expect I'll hate a character like that.. usually she is my favorite and Amano is really manly by offering his hand it is like telling us that no matter how many misunderstanding and meddling happened, the true couple always prevails in the end |

Remember, Kazu-kun, a hundred clichés move us, in this case to laughter. At least when presented in fresh, analytical dialogue with zany visuals and voice acting. I'd say the series has lost steam since the game of life ep, but if you want a diabolically flat clichéd anime try 'convenience store boyfriends'. |
